Thank you Ben, for the Mother’s Day wish! Jess, thank you for sharing your insecurities regarding the garden on its infancy stage. I have been feeling the same way. This is the first year I have ever started plants indoors from seed and it’s giving me both pride and anxiety! Like you I was comparing my infant garden to the lush and lovely plants in stores and on KZbin. It Is so tempting to go get some. I watch KZbin and it reassures me. I was so excited about all the cabbages and cauliflower that I grew from seed and planted about 8 days ago. Something completely decimated them on day 3😭. Then I saw Stacy on Offgrid with Doug and Stacy say cabbage and brassicas don’t do well around here in the spring. I was feeling bad about my yellowing leggy tomatoes and tiny peppers. Then I see lots of KZbin videos with plants that look like mine 😅. It lets me know this is normal. Sorry about your quail but so glad Bens restlessness caused Miah to realize what was going on. What a blessing! My daughter and her family lost their new goose yesterday. It’s hard to lose animals. I hope you have success with them soon

11:15 I feel the same way, always worrying about my plants. I’m in a cold climate so my concern is being unprepared for random frosts between our 70+degree days... Sad about the quail. Glad you guys are all ok. I was reluctant when I bought my first heat lamp, it was marketed for the reptiles I bought it for but they avoided it even in winter and it melted things in/around the tank after only being on for an hour. Never left it on more than 10 min after that, eventually got rid of it. Quail can probably survive your climate’s cold spring nights without an issue. I’m in a significantly colder climate & our wild turkeys, geese & ducks were having babies throughout winter this year.

And since then the scrap wood pile has been dwindling. He made his little sister bunk beds for her dolls, he made two new chicken roost for the chickens, and he wants to make a step stool next.
