It's almost exactly 2 years since I first started trying to learn music. I started out on the recorder, but have gathered a few more instruments along the way...
To celebrate two years of music practice, I thought I'd group all my instruments together and find out exactly how many I've managed to acquire so far! Just for a bit of fun, like.

Welcome back. We have missed you. Hopefully your COVID experience wasn’t too difficult. Because of your channel, I ended up purchasing a tenor recorder and a book of John Playford’s music. I played soprano recorder years ago, but my wife hated the sound of it, and I stopped entirely. Now I can enjoy making my own music, and the wife tolerates the noise. Many thanks!

I‘m really happy that you‘re back and feel better. Also I love that you didn‘t shorten the video too much. I knew I‘d like it a lot. I see you‘re that crazy about instruments like I am. I have lots of instruments and learned 7 of them seriously in my youth. I could buy more and more instruments because I love learning them. Can‘t count the instruments I actually have but wouldn’t give away one of it. Love every single one. But my absolute favorite one is my grand piano. Couldn’t have a piano as a kid because we couldn’t afford it. That meant I wasn‘t allowed to study music (you always need piano skills). Therefore I studied medicine and bought a piano out of my first paycheck before buying a sofa or bed. Honestly, who needs a bed when you can have a grand piano? Now I‘m older and I still love my fantastic piano. That‘s why it’s really special to me. I had to wait 20 years till I could have a piano. It was a great video. Thanks a lot. Great musical minds run in the same gutter. The only difference is that I have been doing this for well over 60 years. It gets scary when I find things in my instrument closet that I don’t remember acquiring.

With all those instruments I can't believe you don't have a 'Merlin' guitar-dulcimer. It's made in Canada by Seagull (Godin) guitars. It's diatonic, but not as limiting as you'd think. Can play melodies and chords major and minor. A lot of fun to play and small enough that you can trail around the house with it and put it down anywhere. I love mine.

I never thought I could relate to a person as much as I do you. You basically have same guitar story as me. But my guitar teacher taught George Michael apparently. It was majorly short lived and I think I only got to greensleeves. Still kept my guitar for years gathering dust.

There is this thing about musical instruments that is appealing. As a child I always saw them as those mystery objects that made that gorgeous sound. Never occurred to me it was the person doing it! When I started learning instruments some part of me did not want to, afraid to lose the magic. And still now, whenever I come across an instrument I do not have, I think to myself "Hey, I can always learn that at some point". So there are a lot of instruments in our house that I can play a liiiitle.

Hello. I have quite a collection of instruments, too. I especially like the ukulele that you decorated with gold leaf lettering. I enjoy lettering. Maybe I need to try something like that. 9 or 10 harmonicas, an acoustic guitar, a yamaha keyboard, a melodica, a chalumeaux, 2 recorders, 2 clarinets, an ocarina and a couple of tin whistles - I know when I'm beat ;-)

Sorry you've been down with covid . You are looking a lot better. Take it easy as I know people take a while to get over and past it. I knew you had over 30 music instruments but never guessed over 60. Wow . I have 1 x £1 ancient plastic recorder that's about 30 years old now and since I found your regular Recorder uploads I purchased 1 x yamaha and 1 x Aulos like your 2nd one. I inherited a few things recently from the sad passing of my sister in law who owned and played many. I didn't have her violin or viola because they were her orchestra instruments and deserve to go to someone who will play them expertly. Thanks for this video share of all your instruments. I wondered if I could suggest another you don't have but might enjoy. Have you tried a KALIMBA? I love playing mine but the recorder has fast taken over. Popular and good quality kalimba brand is Gheko. (Might have spelt it wrong there). Go on. Give them a try. Have a listen to April Yang on KZbin. That'll sway you.😉

From one instrument collecting enthusiast to another - what an epic video and collection! I noticed you were rubbing the singing bowl with the wooden part of your mallet. It will ring so much better if you hold the wooden part and rub the bowl with the felt part. Keep up the great work!

Would be great if you play a wee bit of each instrument for us. I happen to be a collector of many instruments myself. Have narrowed it down to playing harps...7 at the moment. Used to be 8 but I sold a consignment store one that I bought a case for to a child.

I have 6 recorders. three sopranos (one made by my brother on his 3D printer), one alto and 2 tenors (my new tenor a maple wood Rondo by Moeck). My Wife has 3 guitars, 2 autoharps and a kalimba. Not so extensive as yours but we've only been at it for 2 years.

Great collection and thank you for sharing. May I suggest a kalimba or two? I have a 10 note and 17 note, both flat board type and it is impossible to not get a lovely sound from them, even just by running a thumb nail along the tines. Glad to see you are recovering and looking forward to more of your great videos. 🎼🎹

Enjoyed this video… You have a great stage presence.. I think my flute collection just might rival yours.. But you are missing one that I think you would love, the Japanese shakuhachi.. it’s not easy but once you catch on, it is a fantastic instrument. I’ve been at it for several years and it’s become one of my favorites..If you’re interes 9:11 ted I would suggest a shakuhachi Yuu which is hands down the best beginner instrument ( available on Amazon..), endorsed by pros… Cheers, R

As a banjo player , I think there is one other option for that banjo. Kerosene and a match. I have seen those before but with different names on the peg head. They are total garbage ,dragging a file across barbed wire sounds better than one of those being played.

You are so damn funny! Very entertaining. Wow 64 instruments. I thought I had a lot with 44 instruments you got me beat. I can't believe in 2 years you became as good as you are. Do you have a job or did you play all day long is that how you got so good. So curious about your practice schedule with all these instruments and how much time you spend learning each. I think that would be a great video to do.

H Big Bob from down in Wolves, saw your cigar box guitar video, i took it up this year after having to give up on harmonica, i was a bit sad that you picked an unfretted guitar, as you would get on loads faster with fretted and its way easier than a ukulele, you can play many cords 1 finger just barring, and i love playing lead and it sounds amazing with the right amp or pedal. if you can treat yourself to one for Christmas, feel free to ask for advice picking off ebay in the uk.

hi u seem very good with recorder i wonder did u ever play other instrument judge from your house i guess u very rich cause most of those item are very expensive especialy the piano i been checking your video recently not very my type of interest cause im not a fan of accordion your channel seem not very high from viewer and likes but if u work hard enough and make something interesting you could achieve your goal
