I also lost around 40kg, I must say I am very lucky bc I only have 1 or 2 stretchmarks and no loose skin but something that makes me wanna scream is that all I get now is wow you are so skinny, you need to gain some weight even though those same people where the ones who told me to loose some weight when I was overweight... you can never please everyone no matter how hard you try, I'm happy with my body now, and that is all that should matter!

number 6 resonates with me so much. I was 71 kgs at 11 years old (1,40 m high) so I was VERY overweight. But strangely enough, nobody ever commented on my body, nobody told me I was fat except for the occasional bullies, which I was very much able to shrug off. But then I lost weight, about 18 kgs. And suddenly, I heard things about my body I had never heard before. I heard some of my best friends say to me "you know, you were too fat before, so good for you", after years of telling me to embrace y own body and that I looked beautiful. I have heard boys discuss how I have become "fuckable" right in front of my face. And worst of all, after a bad depression that made me gain about 5 kgs, everyone commented on it saying "have you gained weight? Be careful not to gain it all back". And I'm not talking about enemies, I'm talking about people who call themselves my FRIENDS. That's so frustrating, once you reach what people consider a healthy weight they start watching your every move. It's almost as if when you are overweight your weight doesn't even matter, but when you are skinny it's a sin to gain even a pound.

@@Togepi-tj8kr not really...years ago I also lost suddenly 20kg and people were so BRUTAL (like full on savage mode :P) about my previous appearance, it basically got hard-coded on my mind. So at some point, I started gaining weight and I became depressed (well, it started the other way around but that's another story ^_^). I felt so ugly and hideous and repulsive.... And now, that I am actually heavier than I was back then, I resent myself, I despise compliments because I don't believe them and I truly believe noone could like me or love me like this. It affects my love life and it basically ruined my mentality that "weight is just a number, I will get rid of it but I am also pretty and worthy of love". When you see people's honest opinion about weight it affects you, even if you don't get consciously affected

Omg this is so true because I was also fat but people said nothing but then when I lost some kgs then now they are like omg you lost sooo much weight and omg you really glowed up and i was so shocked that people never said anything and they were never gonna say anything unless I did something about it :/

I lost 40kg in 6 month with diet and exercise 7 days a week for 2-3hrs I was addicted. Then got pregnant and now recovered from my c section. I’ve lost 14kg so far and I’m doing keto diet with IF.

I experienced all these things. And despite the change, and the healthier results, there is a kind of deep sadness I can't explain that hits you hard after losing weight. Maybe it's the acumulation of poisonous ideas coming out finally... I hope.

Fehu Uruz hopefully with time it will get better; but definitely think about why you feel this way. For me it was how some relationships changed for the worse and peoples perception of the ‘new’ me. But with time I realised its not what other people think of us that defines us, its what we think of ourselves. Be kind to yourself, accept that losing weight does not mean happiness and that a difficult relationship with food/low self esteem doesn’t just disappear with the weight. Addressing the deeper psychological issues will help so much in so many ways.

Stacey Bycroft : I think yes, awarenes about self confidence, and self acceptance, also breaking free from the pressure of people (like what Diana said about those who keep commenting her body even after weight loss) definitely help. It's hard but I think with time things will be better. It's a mind game like we say :)

I find that my body is always a concern of other people....this is very frustrating and sad. I used to be very slim, and everybody commented that I lam disappearing or that I'm too thin.... then I gain some weight and some people at work or from my family started commenting on my body, they touched my belly and asked if I am pregnant, or during meals with family they said that I am too fat. It's very hurtful. I really hate that...I never comment on people's weight or looks, Ive been there - I know how it feels to look gorgeous, be slim and feel bad, I know also how it is to be fat but happier.....of course that I want to lose weight right now because I want to be healty...Im 152 tall and I weigh 76 kg and my feet are killing me but losing weight is a process... it takes more time for me than for other people because of hormonal issues, stress, irregular lifestyle, lack of proper sleep. This comment explains my situation completely. I used to cry because I couldn’t gain weight and when I finally gained weight people always made comments about how I looked better before. I felt more happy that I finally had some weight on me, but the comments kept bringing me down. I kept gaining more weight and I had to start making changes for my health as well. But now I’m too obsessed with losing weight and it sucks because I wish I can just focus more on my mental health.

hamsterii you can do this! I am 150 cm tall and in January I was at 84 kilos. Right now I weigh in at 61 kilos. The beginning was rough but later on it gets normal and you don't even think about eating junk food. I believe in you and don't listen to the dumb comments because it is your body and it should only concern you. You got this!

I think people also need to set realistic goals, losing weight won't turn you into a victoria's secret model but that doesn't mean it isn't worth doing

Thank you so much for this Diana. I want to lose 10 kg. This might not be HUGE, but it's still hard and I don't feel like myself right now. I carry these extra since childhood, and now I know I need to actually DO something. I thing there will be an odd feeling after this but I will turn it into an journey that I'm proud of. Thank you ❤

Cat What have you tried for losing weight? The key to losing weight is being in a caloric deficit. Strength training (no, you won't get bulky but lean) along with some HIIT could go a long ways for you. All the best!

I have always been on the fat side but I lost quite a bit of weight bc of losing appetite due to depression and an abusive relationship... a lot of people complimented me on it and encouraged me to lose more, but I really felt like crap inside. Now that im in a better place in terms of self image and emotional/mental health, im ready to continue losing more weight without feeling that sort of horrible "what have I done to myself" feeling

I relate to this so much. I’m a teenager and i lost about 30 over the past 3-4 months and my family and relatives are such twats about it. They’re like ‘oh you’re so skinny now stop loosing weight” “you weren’t even big before” which annoys me so much because yes I was definitely overweight before and doctors have told my mom that but she didn’t do anything to improve my eating habits and it took me having a sudden epiphany to realize that I was very overweight and I need to change my unhealthy habits before my weight increased. Now their all salty about and judge me if I take small portions of foods at family gatherings but I just ignore them. Also my mom is so ignorant when it comes to food and she honestly tried to convince me that certain foods are good because they have a lot of an element like protein but a burger can have a lot of protein and still be high in trans fat and other bad ingredients. If I had listened to her or anyone of my family members I would never gotten to the healthy weight at which I am now. I try to just cut their stupid remarks and continue my lifestyle. Right now I’m maintaining my weight tho. Sorry this was long af I just needed to rant a bit but great video!

Hi Diana 😊 I lost 20 kgs about 5 years ago and that really showed me my real friends actually. It may sound funny but this is how i feel😊 at first i was really really happy but then i realised the people who had not been good with me were trying to be good just because i was more “beautiful” and i hated it. I gained the weight back in years because food made me more “happy” than those people did and i didn’t care about how my thick legs looked until i had health problems😞 now i’m struggling with myself.. I know my health will get worse but i just can’t stop myself and i don’t know what to do right now😕 If i’m on a diet, i constantly think about the food that i can’t eat and that makes me even more deppressive. It feels good to listen to you talking about your journey. Please keep on filming this kind of videos. Thank you so much and i love you❤️

I struggled with this too and have gained and lost about 400 pounds over the last 20 years. I went to therapy for a few words and am in a much better place mentally now so O have better coping skills other than eating when I am upset. I've lost 56 pounds since November. I hope to be able to keep it off this time. We will see what I learn.

Hello Diana! I follow you since a few years ago (I think?) but I never commented your videos before. Thank you for this one. This is such important to not share only the good aspects and the fact that everything will be easier if we lost weight. A lot of people think like this and I used to think like this in the past. But this is so important to take our mental health at the same that the way our body looks. Here is my personal experience: I've been struggling with anorexia and bulimia for few years and now i'm recovered. But at the same because of this, I was a little bit chubby in the college and I get bullied. Because of this, I hade a depression (it's been six years that i'm fighting it), and yeah people should give respect to others because we're absolutely not a number or the way that we are. We are not only a body, a hair, or anything else. Since of this, i've been treated by severes pharmaceuticals and, unfortunatelly I gained weigh. As you before, I have to lose +40kg for having a normal weight, a good one who's is normal and good for my health. It's really hard because every day I may have the olds demons that try to come back but at the same it's make me more strong to know now that I wanna and will lose weight, by the correct way (i'm on a list for having an appointment w a dr who have skills in this). We shouldn't be focused only on the physical aspect, on the fact that we will wear the clothes that we always wanted. Because, sure, these things will happen, and that's really a good sart of this, but... When we start to lose weight it's a total transformation and it's really important to be prepared to this, to be positive on our mind and know that the things that we want won't probably be the entire reality. It's okay and it's normal. We shouldn't be to hard with ourself but only concerned and making the good things for us dicted by us and not by the medias or the medial socials. Diana, I know this is so irrelevant but I just needed to let you know. I have been a subscriber of yours for so many years and I love your content and it also made me crazy how your videos get so little views when your quality is so high. So today I randomly saw a video made by a girl whose channel is named swoop. In that video she explained how although see had more that 600.000 subs in her old channel and she was getting so many views suddenly her views dropped dramatically. So after meeting with a youtube employee she was told that her channel was basically "disappeared" from the recomedations, the home screen the notifications, everywhere just because of an anomaly in the algoryth. She was also told that there is nothing to be done so she started a new channel. Sorry for the huge comment, I just feel like you deserve so much more and I felt that I should let you know about this. Keep up the great job, lots of love ❤❤

I wish I could lose weight, it would make my life so much easier. I have a joint condition which makes exercise extremely painful and I take about three medications which have the side effect of gaining weight. I was always a normal weight until these medications and then I gained about 20 kg very quickly and it made me very upset. I don't feel fat but then I see myself in the mirror and remember I am. I eat not a lot and very healthily and it doesn't make a difference but people just assume they know why I put on weight 😞 I appreciate your comments about everyone having value regardless of weight cos it is sometimes hard to remember

Research intermittent fasting. I do the 16/8 fasting, so my eating window is between 11 - 7. I’ve been doing it for nearly a year and it has helped with my chronic illnesses. It gives the body a chance to heal and not focus on trying to process food. Try exercises that are gentle with little to no pressure on your joints, swimming, yoga, pilates or even trampolining. 😊

Sophia Neilsson Have you looked into drinking organic applecider vinegar with the mother. I take braggs, that's the best one out there. It helps with inflammation and also weight loss. I take mine 3x 30 minutes before I take food, 2 table spoon with warm water and drink it through straw. I wish you all the best.

haha when i was young i lost a lot of weight because of ed. everyone wanted me to gain weight but when i did, people also commented on it. you can never win with a lot of people so you need to learn to focus on how you feel about yourself

"Seek peace and pursue it" - we have to love ourselves & all our imperfections. Don't compare yourself to other people; it's a waste of time & energy. It's ok to shut down negativity regardless of the source. Fight for yourself & your peace. Blessings to you all.

This is so interesting! I completely agree with the fact that you need a "mental detox" while you loose weight cause this is the real problem and the reason that you don't feel good. Yes, when you're overweight you got some physical issues like real pain and tiredness etc. and loose weight gonna solve it, of course but if you don't feel good in your head, this is not because of your weight and it won't disappear with the kilo's (not completely at least...). I lost 10 kilo's ones and yeah my physical health was better but I still didn't feel beautiful cause the problem was not the weight but something in my mind and solve that is an another work than loose weight and it's difficult as hell but time and experience helps (and I have to say an amazing boyfriend too ^^). Cheer up cause everybody got something beautiful and unique! Thanks for this video

Thank you so much for this video, I really needed to hear this. I'm on my own journey and have lost 16 lbs (7ish kgs). I've felt myself get stronger and my mood is a lot better thanks to working out and eating better. But I still have days where it doesn't feel like enough and I must remind myself it takes time. I'm just glad that I was finally in the right place mentally to begin and stay consistent.

Thank you for uploading this video. I've been struggling with every single one of those points. Number 2 and 5, really hit me hard. Knowing others went or are going through the same brought me comfort. What helps me is to remember, it is a process, and that most of the people I see on Social Media have years of consistent diet and training. Today, maybe I don't have the biceps or abs i InVision, but I do have the habits and knowledge to help me get them one day. Again awesome video. I appreciate your courage to upload that.

She is talking of having loose skin and cellulite and I too am worried since i am currently on my way to losing 45 kgs too but as soon as she said 'you may not be able to get rid of it' i realised maybe I dont want to. These are normal human things. What we see on instagram is fake and photoshopped. A lot of women are blessed with a minimum cellulite or marks or loose skin but all women have some or the other form of "problem" which they cant get rid of. IT DOES NOT MATTER. We are human and whoever thinks its ugly, has unrealistic expectations or is too consumed by the fake lifestyle that multiple people portray. We need to embrace our body and all the apparent flaws. Imagine putting so much hardwork and dedication into losing weight and then being depressed over the loose skin. It is so sad.

I agree. People grow up hearing that certain body types are what we should strive for. So many suffer emotionally and physically because standards say they should in the name of beauty. A healthy mind and body IS beautiful. This should be our standard. Thank you for sharing your story to us.

I love your chatty videos. I can listen to you all day. When you speak you make sense. As I listen I can tell you are highly intelligent. You have a lot of wisdom to offer and to share. You are using YT as a platform to communicate this knowledge. You made a good point about the mind and body being connected and you understand that connection. Diana I relate so much to this! After losing ~32 kg I came to the same realisations and I really wish I knew them sooner! I had wasted so much time with self-hating and self-punishing. You should always love your body, no matter its size. Slimming down will really do nothing for your self-image, if you do not come to accept and embrace your body. What I also wanted to ask you is, could you maybe do a video about how you care for your body after weight loss? Like how you deal with loose skin and stretch marks? Thank you

People who give mean comments, are usually talking about themselves, not about you. When someone says "You can't do this. It's impossible." It's because they can't do it, and for them that is (whatever it is) impossible.

I need to lose about 40kg but I’m scared of the bad attention I’ll get. Before I gained all this weight when I was skinny, I was sexually assaulted. I turned to food for comfort and the more weight I gained, the less and less attention I was getting from men which I was relieved about. But I’m literally tired of being obese. And I don’t want to continue to put my health at risk. But I’m also so scared of how people will treat me if I get skinny again :(

draingang omg I relate to that, I was molested at a young age because i developed early and since then I've always had issues with eating and I dress really awful so no one pays attention to me. Recently, started to lose weight and I've been getting more attention lately and it's making me scared but I love taking care of my body now

start already by losing a kilo before being scared of what you will look like at the end of your journey. You eye will get used to it you will not wake up skinny. And you dont have to be skinny. You can have a normal and healthy weight. Good luck 😉

I developed early too :( I honestly still get attention sometimes even now (I'm about 70 pounds overweight). So i know for a fact, the more I lose the more attention I will get and I REALLY dont want that. I don't care what I look like when I'm skinny, that's not why I want to lose weight.

I always love when you do this kind of videos because you are so wise and inspiring and it’s very refreshing. I truly believe that no one should ever be ashamed of their body and it’s not ok to make fun of someone because of how they look.

Hi, Diana! For some time I have been following you and I want to tell you that you inspire me. At this moment I am in that process of losing weight and it has been very difficult, but when I have seen your videos talking about this and just seeing your strength makes me aware again that I can do it. (excuse me I gonna wrote my text in french, if you want to translate it It's gonna be perfect :) je me retrouve beaucoup dans ce que tu explique dans ta vidéo. j'ai également perdu un peu plus de 30kg, malheureusement j'ai repris du poids dernièrement et je ne le vis pas très bien. j'essaye de resté positive, comme tu le dis tout est dans le "mental", c'est très important. je ne perds pas espoir de reperdre du poids, simplement il faut que je trouve cette petite chose en moi qui s'en est allé. j'ai des projets, des envies, et cette image dans le miroir.. je ne me reconnais plus. Hi Diana. Could you please talk about how to work out properly? I am a student and I can't afford going to the gym regularly or sometimes I don't even have the time for it. But I want to start working out at home. I've tried Fitness Blender workouts in the past but I feel like I'm doing it wrong, I don't really know what I'm doing most of the time. I did Keto and Intermittent fasting + HIIT exercise :) it sounds ridiculous but after the first month, it gets easier!!!

I remember one day , after binging lots of chocolate i Saw myself and i hated what i was seeing. That was the moment when i decided to change. I started eating healthy and doing exercise and 4 months later i looked amazing! But the problem was that i wasn't able to see that change. I started eating less and less till i went to a point in wich i weight 39 kg. When i realized what was happening to me i was shocked, i wanted to fault society , but It was my fault too. I didn't like my face, It had became pure bones , i looked and felt fragil. Eventually I am a healthy girl with a healthy lifestyle and state of mind. Please , don't torture yourself because of looking Slim! Make It healthy and funny , not cruel and sacred.Hope if somebody feels bad or stucked finds the awnser , not alone, you need to talk to Someone and little by little you 'll start feeling better.
