Sounds to me like the person who hit him felt guilty, and took him to the hospital but didn't admit blame for the crime.

Yeah well.......dang I know it might be rough but phew...idk wouldn't the guilt eventually make you turn yourself in? Idk...if you were a delivery driver like he said though.......it might not just kinda wreck part of your life, but your ENTIRE life/livelihood .......still it's a sad situation/story for all involved. Idk...rough

What a mystery! This happened to my brother he was found on the highway off the Williamsburg bridge . He was beaten up and in a coma for two months. He learned to walk and talk again….but he lasting brain damage . He eventually died 4 years after due to a seizure in his sleep. He was found and taken to the hospital. No camera footage nothing. Nobody knows till this day what happened. We don’t know if he was thrown off the walking path or was thrown out of a car. He was found by other cars. It’s So scary . I’m glad this young man is ok .

Brandon, My accident was March of 2014. What you and I share in common is that twilight zone of missing information. I had that, too. But piece by piece, most of mine returned to me. It returned to me in exactly the way that you tried to recover your memories of that pre-accident evening. When a van from my nursing home drove me over the highway toward my home, it passed the spot of my accident (3 months earlier). SO much came back to me. Here's what I remembered... There had been construction on the highway. Closed exit lanes forced me to stay on the freeway far past the exit to my house. I'd finally been able to exit, U-turn (do a 180), and head back toward home. I'd wondered for three months what I'd done or where I'd gone that put me in that spot heading in that direction. [Details of the car accident are omitted here.] I'm paralyzed and missing a leg now, but I'm alive and glad of it.

Okay... How to wash the skull: Get a bowl you can completely submerge it in. Then submerge it in regular drugstore hydrogen peroxide. You can basically let it sit as long as you want, but after a few days the peroxide will convert to gross water, so use your discretion when it's time to change out the peroxide. If there's, like, actual crud on the bones you can use a toothbrush or something like it to gently scrub off the crud after each soak. Keep soaking, scrubbing, and changing out the peroxide until it reaches the desired level of "clean." I don't know how long a human skull takes, but small mammal bones usually clean up over the weekend.

Info online perhaps? Museums that displays bones probably have all sorts of methods for cleaning bones. One of them include insects or bugs since they can eat the softer organic flesh and muscles. Much easier than trying to do all that by hand. But i think bones can have have some discoloring or yellowing to them. so the hydrogen peroxide might act as a cleaning acting and bleaching agent.

He’s lucky he was young and had great insurance. The ability of a young brain to come back from trauma is pretty amazing. My story isn’t as dramatic but I had brain damage during birth that effected my proprioception. Other parts of my brain took over and while I’m still clumsier then most, it’s not a crazy level of clumsiness’s. It’s funny tho bc my motor skills are less unconscious (tho it’s basically unconscious unless it’s something very new I’m trying) when I was pregnant and my body changing so rapidly, I was always wacking my stomach on stuff. Bc I don’t have that innate understanding of my body in space, if I wasn’t thinking about things like going through a doorway, I’d wack my belly on the door frame. I was convinced my baby would come out with dents. But still it’s pretty amazing how other parts of my brain took on the job of helping me navigate the world.

Severe head trauma often ends up in memory loss. My severe head injury resulted in a memory loss of details 3 days prior to my injury, how my injury happened, the weeks spent in the hospital and the first week of rehab. My friends who were present at the time of the accident saved my life and I can only trust their account of the accident so at least I know what happened. Stories and experiences like these are the reason why I both always wear protective gear, especially on NYC streets, and that I video record every ride I take. I was once riding behind someone. That person in front of me fell. Don’t know why but he was hurt. Called 911. Police came and took down the statements. Found out that the jerk blamed me for hitting or touching him and it caused him to fall which was a lie. We argued, he got mad and I turned to the cop and said “I have a camera. We can see what happened”. The guy shut up fast and they can clearly see I was behind him for some distance and was never in touching distance. I was let go and the guy never got a lawsuit which I assumed was his goal to recoup the embarrassment of falling for no reason. Get a cheap 1080P camera. Whether it’s $50 or $1000, it’ll be worth it’s weight in gold if anything like my or the KZbinr situation happens.

Perfectionism is not OCD, damn... I'm so annoyed by people thinking they have OCD when they're just a perfectionist or enjoy a tidy environment. But of course it is terrible what happened to him, I hope things work out

He did say he didn’t have it before the accident, so OCD could have happened as a result. I know it’s annoying when people say they have OCD when it’s not actually their diagnosis but I tend to do that myself. How else can you better describe the annoying tendency to want things done perfectly to the degree that you waste a considerable amount of time on one task to the detriment of the other ten thousand tasks on your list?

@@plan4life Look into OCPD vs OCD, it might help you figure out what's going on. What OCD looks like for me is repeating an action over and over to appease a gripping claustrophobic feeling I get. This can be moving something over and over but not to put it in a tidy or neat spot, but whichever place gets rid of the feeling. I am also presented with consequences sometimes, things that are irrational but compel me to compulsively take or and repeat an action. An example of this can be "do this or a nuclear war will start" or "do this or your hair will fall out" or "do this or your family will die" etc. As well as intrusive thoughts, I get instrusive imagery in my head too, seeing horrible things, making me want to do horrible things. I can become obsessed over food, I can't get the image, taste, and craving out of my head, my entire being wants it and it won't go away so I feel I have to get it, and once I do usually I don't want it anymore. I can end up repeating words over and over again, driving me mad. Examples of compulsions are, looking around to a certain position no matter how weird it looks to wipe an image, having to listen to a certain frequency or piece of music (even making the sound with my mouth no matter how weird it looks) to wipe away a sound, I never feel clean even after thoroughly cleaning myself so I'm constantly washing my hands to wipe the dirt away, I have to move objects repetitively or into a certain position, open close doors, stand in a certain position or area, touch loads of textures until I find the right one to appease the feeling of being dirty. I've seen way worse cases than mine, like a woman having to walk around her car again and again and open close the doors open close the doors infront of everyone so embarassed, poor thing. So if this sound like you, or even just a little similar, OCD is likely what you have. If not, look into OCPD.

It’s heartbreaking at the end when he blames himself for the accident because he didn’t wear a helmet. It’s not his fault at all. It’s the hit-and-run criminal’s fault. Even if he had been wearing a helmet, there is no guarantee he would have been perfectly fine. The criminal could have hit a pedestrian just as easily, who also would not be wearing a helmet. And even if there is no criminal at all, and it was just a freak accident of falling, it’s still not his fault this horrible thing happened to him. He didn’t deserve to be hurt like this. I hope he considers therapy to overcome some of the emotional fallout from the accident. He seems all healed up physically, intellectually, and mentally, but anyone could benefit from the emotional support therapy provides after a traumatic, life-threatening injury.

If he had worn his Helmut it would have lessened the chance of a TBI. Fault is debateable. He could have just hit a rock and hit his head on pavement or curb.nothing more sinister or suspicious than that. He may have actually walked his way to the hospital. If he had been taken by ambulance there would be a record of it. Not only at the ambulance company but dispatch as well. And the hospital would have recorded how he arrived. Many have head injuries and function purely on adrenaline for a short time. Then collapse. He needs to know he made it. Its hard but he needs to move forward.

I'm sorry but I have to point this out. Being a perfectionist has NOTHING to do with obsessive compulsive disorder. Using the phrase "I'm real OCD" makes the condition sound trivial and not serious at all. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a very serious anxiety disorder which disrupts people's lives in a negative way. Please stop using ignorant language like this. It makes sufferers of the condition cringe.

2:23 It makes sense if you were hit by a car (which is really rare in New York because most people in New York don’t have cars because the insurance is so high it’s mind blowing an average of $232 per month or $1,730 per year that’s if you find an insurance that has good coverage and is reasonable) if the person was afraid of calling the police because you know how police are in New York There would be no ambulance report it more than likely possible they took you to the hospital and dropped you ther on the side of the road without leaving any traces especially if they had knowledge of their camera placements in the hospital.
