I LOST MY MIND WITH IT!! | Wet Felting Oven Glove Craft Kit

So today I'm attempting wet felting for the first time, being under the impression that wet felting was going to be super easy....however the wet felting craft kit that I bought definitely changed my mind! I should have known as soon as the wet felting craft kit didn't provide the majority of the materials needed to create an oven glove! I do definitely share responsibility for the fact that this wet felting was a disaster, I think my choice of materials for the template was completely wrong (even though the kit recommended thick foam) which it shouldn't of! But I think I will revisit wet felting in the future and possibly create a more 2D landscape or something, I will not let wet felting beat me!! First clue this was gonna be shyte was the recommended second design on the box😂! The kit was 💩! You gave it more of a try than I would've been able to do❤. Drink some chamomile tea and meditate. Hopefully, this will help❤. I am looking forward to your next video. Have a wonderful weekend😊.

I'm sorry this was so frustrating. The instructions sounded confusing to me. I've never heard of wet felting, so it was cool seeing something new. That's one of the many reasons i love your channel. You really put yourself out there and try so many things.

3 minutes into the video and I was already screaming at the screen! That kit is missing absolutely everything 😳 such a shame too, as I much prefer wet felting to needle felting! Although last time I did wet felting I ended up in hospital with horrific repetitive strain injury 🤣

Ant, I'm so sorry about the glove and about your soap woes. Maybe you'll feel better if you give yourself a mini-spa by trying what I do for face-washing: Use a mortar and pestle or a blender to turn a small handful of rolled oats into oat flour. Put that through a sieve to get rid of any big pieces and then stir enough water into it to make a thick glop that's unlikely to drip off of your face. Apply that glop all over your face and then rinse it off. It feels absolutely amazing and your skin will be ridiculously soft and smooth. From what I've been able to find out, oats contain more oil than any other grain, don't clog the pores, have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, act as a pH buffer, can safely be used near the eyes, are beneficial for conditions like dry skin, eczema, acne, and nappy rash, clean, soothe. protect, moisturize, and replenish the skin, and all that for a few pennies and without stinking.

I spray mine with an olive oil soap. Works great over bubble wrap. I e gone so far as to take wool skeins and brushing them out into felt. You’ll be amazed how much you get. I see people doing reproductions of famous art. No where near that for moi. Lmao at watching you do this. Takes time and if you do it more it will be a lot easier. At least this way you won’t stab your self with all the needle felting. ❤

awh Ant i'm sorry this kit didn't work out for you... it really was a crappy kit and those instructions were just awful! Wet felting is actually something i *love* to do - when you get into the zone i love the warm soapy water and net fabric feeling on my fingertips, it is almost meditative , and you can get some beautiful results. (Well, with the right instructions...!) This kit did it no justice at all..!

I just started an amigurmi bunny and it's turning out so cute. I would say start with something simple and make sure to use the right hook for the yarn you're using, not necessarily the hook the pattern says. I started with a size 4 and ended up with a 5.5 because my yarn was so thick and it was too frustrating and slow with the the smaller hook.

DK cotton yarn is best for beginners and a 3mm hook so it's not too fiddly. Once you get the hang of it you'll have little amigurumi makes all over the place 😅

They should explain the theory of felting wool before starting the practical. It's all to do with the scaley microscopic structure of wool fibres and the fact that they move in one direction and matt together when subjected to mechanical action when wet. Its all about controlled shrinkage in the milling process. In the past people used to use stale urine instead of soap. You might want to wear gloves. Start of by drink 2 bottles of cheap German wine.

They did use it. The strong stuff collected in the morning being preferred. Once it had fermented it was a source of ammonia essential for scouring wool cloth to remove impurities . It was much less harsh than wood ash. A low cost video idea. Ant does traditional natural wool felting no horrible artificial smelly soap required. All home made. @@AnthonyCrammen

Ant, why not use the felting material and just make a landscape or an abstract piece off camera, just so your money wasn't wasted, because the material is ok, it was just the kit that was crap! I could hear it in your voice well before you said it, that your temper was rising. I don't really blame you tho Ant, that was a really terrible kit. The written instructions were awful! Better luck next time hun!
