The Honda needs a 'Baby on Board' sign. The driver is nearly one!! But what speed was that third run? It hooked up better so it should have been a bit quicker. Those drag radials are junk now. Never street run them as they just go rock hard. The Michelins obviously had more bite. A proper circuit race semi slick would be the go for that type of event. Toyo, Yokohama even Hoosier all make good ones. But keep them in the dark and cool between events.

It's been a long time since I've raced at a drag track. We used to drive around the water box unless we had bias ply skinny tires on the front because front radial tires dragged and dripped water on the track. We only did burnouts with radial rears to clean the dirt/gravel off of them. Doing a heat burnout on radials in the rear tires reduses their traction capability. You can back rear radials into a wet surface, do a .5 - 1 second burnout to clean them off and then treat them like (highway warmed) tires. It takes practice but, you can get decent results put of street tires.

I built an 87 Astro van with a 327 sbc 5 speed manual and 3.73 posi rear. From outside looked completely stock. Was really quiet as well. I even had soccer dad type stickers on the back of it. The looks on people’s faces when I left them at a stoplight was priceless.
