I was testing out a few characters against her in co-op to check out who was working for me. Furina was most ideal but definitely had to watch my team's health so that I could switch between healing or damage/HP drain. Noelle was okay but I have a bad Noelle who needs more investment and ER especially. Lyney actually held out pretty okay as long as he stayed somewhat close to her. His healing on his skill helped a LOT for clearing the bond of life. One wrong move though and each of them got one shot lol

Fun fact, which you may have missed because it involves an ingame book: The "Crimson Moon" imagery in her is not simply for the reason of it being cool (although that too). Crimson Moon is the second to last Royal Dynasty of Khaenri'ah, which created the original "House of Hearth" (which may have had a different name) and was focused on Alchemy and Khemia So, I really, really want her to meet Dain/Kaeya. Maybe (copium) they'll meet next patch?

Seeing the scene after someone points it out, it's kinda obvious that something clicked for Freminet. He's also someone who doesn't say something if he doesn't know everything, he's introverted and precise. We saw that in the fantasy event as well. The twins and Freminet are definitely strong characters with how they react to certain events

That's pure conjecture and almost certainly wrong because; 1- That's not what he noticed there. What he noticed was what he talked about immediately after about the house being strange. Why wouldn't he share such valuable information with his most trusted friends if he figured it out. 2- let's bend our backs backwards and assume you were right let's give you another plothole. How did the guy who had his memory erased remember his lover and the guys from the house still remembered they were interested in operas. The reality is that it was nothing more than a convenient plot device. 3-Ignoring all those points I just made by bending my back so hard it breaks. The story still had massive issues like Clervie calling the the knave mother not father and when they asked who her friend was they didn't ask for the most basic method of investigation of asking what she looks like and that from previous world quests that the traveler should know there's a previous knave (you and the writers forgot about that apparently) makes them not figuring out who Clervie was talking about the most contrived plot progression ever. all in all the premise of the story was good but it was executed horribly unfortunately. @CrimsonRainFlower yeah i'm a short male who looked young for their age, i've dealt with plenty of people over the course of my life who immediately take you less seriously because of height alone. and people who play hoyo games immediately apply this logic to characters as well. makes me think of a big twitter thread where people were acting disgusted that people found silver wolf from HSR attractive because she's "clearly" a teenager. she's young for sure, and she's a bit immature, but if the internet proves anything it's that plenty of actual adults act more childish than she does. even if they confirmed she was 30 i wouldn't really find that to be a stretch. fu xuan has a similar size and youthful look but has dialogue about "being nearly 30 by the time she (some past event)". though if anything i blame hoyo for using models that are unsuitable to display age variance. but honestly that's just been a thing with a lot of anime styles for decades now.

For Freminet not connecting dots between Clervie and Crucabena, it's explained in the penguin event and his character story. When he was young, he used fairy tales to cope and he had two specific characters: Pers the Penguin and Princess Marcotte. Princess Marcotte was a young girl with long pink hair and often looked through windows. That's clearly Clervie's flame/ghost. He thought she was merely a character in his fairy tale. It wasn't until the incident when Clervie told him about the orphan who was poisoned that it clicked for him "Princess Marcotte could be more than my imagination". He kept her hidden and investigated on his own. Also: Clervie only used "Mother" with Traveller once. She's consistent when using the title "Knave" and Paimon said that she was in a trance when she switched to "Mother". She never said that title with Freminet, Lyney or Lynette. I'm sure they would've questioned "Mother" but the scenario never occurred with them.

Exactly! Freminet never met Clervie, he would never know who the hell she is or the fact she's the daughter of the previous Knave. Freminet also said the old Knave stopped the fightings since the experiments ended when he joined. He never took part in any fighting that the chat thinks he is apart of and thinks that's why he has more TRAUMA than Lyney and Lynette and why he's quiet lol. Lynette says Father burned all traces of these events so they couldn't even dig up the evidence to prove what Clervie saying is true so would we really think Arlecchino just leaves Freminet alone if he knows the HOH dark past? of course not, didn't we see how quick she was to want to kill spirit Clervie for stiring chaos in the house before traveler talked her down.

Okay, to clear up the "plothole" that has been mentioned. Clervie has never mentioned "mother" to anyone but the player. In 50:49 She actually uses "The Knave" so that's the way she usually addresses her. She also only mentions the House's secrets and says the "Higher Ups" are not as nice as they seem. She doesn't want to say too much because she believes that no one will believe her (which was her whole experience since only Peruere knows about the House's secrets). It's only because Paimon decided to ask her why she feels that way about the House, so they can be on the same page that she actually mentioned "Mother". And it was to say how Crucabena would act like a mother (telling stories to children, ect.) but can't be trusted. Everyone else just either trusted her words or chose not to believe and never really asked why she would say that. It is stupid that Paimon picked up on "Mother" being suspicious but decided to forget and never mentions it again because it would have cleared up the whole situation and Freminet would have known but Paimon have never been known to be reliable anyways. I would say it's a stupid plot device because the MC is stupid than a plothole. (But to be fair, Arlecchino is a woman so they had SOME reason to kind of ignore "Mother" though it is still stupid because literally everyone in the House calls her "Father")

He wouldn't know because you don't tell the group of new orphans you're trying to brainwash that you recently finished off the last group. Cy Yu said Freminet saw Clervie multiple times in the house. That's not true. He heard her multiple times until half a month ago when he finally saw her and hid her from everyone else. Clervie worded everything in the present tense because that's how she perceived the world in her ghost form. This threw off the group from ever considering the past Knave. The twins never even met the past Knave and, for Freminet, as you already explained, his mind probably wouldn't want to resurface those memories.

Her spirit recently started to appear in the last few months and as Lyney/ Fremi told us, when he tried explaining that she was dead Clervie ignored or didn't understand what was being said. Also she would hide from the Knave. So my conclusion was that she would help Fremi but would appear confused when asked questions from time to time, which is why Fremi didn't much about her.

Based off of this scene, 3:16:32 lets say freminet is 17 right now, and he was 7 when he joined the house / right before the old knave was gonna die, so thats a 10 year difference. Arlecchino killed the old knave 1 year after clervie according to freminet which means arlecchino was 17 during that time (she was 16 when she killed clervie, she confirmed it herself), so 17+10 is 27 which means arlecchino is 27ish

idk if you ever figured out (as i'm typing this very early), lyney, lynette, & freminet are all over 18. yes, they are still in the House, but the House is mainly to raise Fatuis, so if a child is raised there and is an adult, they are still considered part of the house. not to mention, as said in the sq, arlecchino wants lyney to be the next "king" of the House, therefore obv she's not going to let him go so easily. also said in the sq, children cannot leave the House ever, no matter the age, unless arlecchino allows them to and wipes out their memory also, freminet wouldn't have connected the dots because, as said in the sq, he joined between the year of clervie and crucebena's death. he states that when he joined, crucabena's experiment, which is to have the children to battle to the death to become the next "king" which arlecchino won, was over and crucabena wouldn't elaborate on it. so it wasn't that freminet pushed it out of his head out of a reaction or for fictional purposes, he was simply kept out of the dark from it all. it's also said arlecchino never told any of the children what happened when she was a kid in the HoH, so no one would know either. the fact that clervie says "mother" the whole time, it could easily be mistaken that since she is six years old (in that form), she is associating arlecchino, who is a woman, with a feminine term unintentionally. or if paid closer attention to, clervie doesn't say "mother" to the twins and freminet in front of them, only traveler and paimon

Honestly one of the top 3 character quest thus far. Not only was Arlecchino’s story flushed out but also the hearth family as well. I will say though, they honestly should’ve made her Animation short a cutscene/flashback after the boss fight, and then posted it on KZbin a week later. Whether you’ve watched the animation short before or after playing the story quest makes a huge difference.

yeah these kids know way too many incriminating secrets, sometimes involuntarily as well, they can never be free after witnessing so many heinous acts, some even committed by themselves when they aren't even adults yet. I believe part of the plot hole you mentioned was cause the short shows that Arlecchino kills Crucabena directly after killing Clervie and there was no "year time gap" where Freminet could have joined

I don't understand the overreaction to a plothole when there really wasn't any. Freminet clearly said when he joined, Crucabena's experimentation with Dottore ended so she doesn't need the kids to fight each other anymore for new "test subjects" and she never told new kids about this past because she doesn't care about divulging this terrible secret to random kids. Arle killing her was more likely a usurpation, and that's the betrayal the Rooster mentioned to Childe and spreading false info about her cus he prob hates this ungrateful kid that killed her mother after she was raised and sheltered by the Fatui. Arle then burned all these secrets so new kids wouldn't dig it up so it would make sense she will go out of her way to make sure Freminet is in the dark too. Also Clervie only mentioned Mother to Paimon and Traveler, NOT to Freminet or the twins. Sure Traveler should've told the group Clervie used the wrong title but he prob thinks a 6 yo is just as confused as he is why Arle called herself Father, and Arle never told him why even after asking her. And lets be freaking real, her beating the 4th Harbinger and being a foster parent at 17/18 is nothing compared to Childe surviving the Abyss at 14.

If Freminet joined at age 4yrs old and Arlechinoo was age 17 at that time, there's 13 yrs gap between their age. So now Freminet is age 17yrs old, Arlechinoo might be 30 or 31yrs old. Hope this theory can clear the confusion.

Like, looks and VA aside, I feel like her playable release and story quest created a lot more parallels between the two that make it a whole lot more definitive.

That weekly boss definitely need a shield or something in second phase. It's wayyy too squishy compared to other bosses. It's very anticlimactic. Aside from that Arlecchino is amazing all around character. Love this update.

Freminet wouldn't have known as he was too new to be subjected to the worst of Crucabena's treatment. He would still be in early stages of training or still under the illusion that it was a nice orphanage. Arlecchino burned all of the files from crucabena's time so there was no way to research either. As for the father vs mother debaucle i assume it's only a plothole outside of china due to the pronounciation issue

Just thinking about everything in this quest in terms of a timeline... I don't know how old Fremine and Lyney/Lynette were when joining the House, but going by the shortest timeframes available, Arlecchino could be 22 or so at the youngest. She burnt all of Crucabenas files and records, hence only 5 years of records existing. She killed Crucabena at 17, and I presume it took only days for her to be pardoned and given the title of Knave and made a Harbinger. So of course, it's possible Arlecchino has only known the children since their teen years

I took Furina, Yanfei, Arle and Xianyun to the fight (My Arle was lv40)... and everyone but Fei were death by phase 2... i don't know how... but she managed to tank enought of her attacks to finish the quest fight. To be fair, i was a little bussy taking screenshots during the fight and tabbing out of the game by accident White doing so, but still.
