Hi Mel, I have been watching for quite a while but never actually commented; however, I always hit the thumbs up for KZbin and other people's comments as well. You are so incredibility inspiring. I am very happy you got together with Chris as you seem to be doing so much better, excited, full of energy and truly pumped this year. I finally realized that receiving comments is probably very inspiring and helpful to you. I most diffidently what to THANK YOU for all your hard work and being so generous with sharing and genuinely wanting to be helpful to others succeeding. I watch several people pretty regularly, but it is your videos that I can't wait to see. You are always a bit of sunshine and laughter each and every video, even if you aren't having the best of days. You are most definitely for real, honest and total Awesome. Best wishes for continued good health, happiness and success for you and your family, from Oregon, USA

We took your challenge and are listing 25 or more each day, We also have 41 drafts in our bank. 22 days into the month, its getting hard to stay focused and staying on track. But we need to grind out the last week, our goal is to get a 1000 listings this month. Love the channel! Terry & Julie

I think consistency rather than quantity that matters to the eBay algorithm. So listing even a minimum of 5 items daily would be better than 30 one day and then 0 the next day

Hi Mel. I had the exact same inventory system as you but I changed to the number sequence. I arrange them standing up. I think this was your old system. lol. Changing inventory system, I had to end my 1900 listings. I put back 1000 of them now. Sales plummeted but I can find my books now. lol. I can totally relate to how you feel Mel. Once you think you got it all sorted out something comes up and all of a sudden you feel like you are running on a hamster wheel. This is when I pedal back a bit. I found it helpful when I decreased my daily listing goal from 25 to 10. Then I am slowly building it back up. I am in kind of the reseller nirvana, listing 10, selling 10. Like what Chris said, "this is a marathon, not a race." I have to remind my self that constantly. I do not want to slide back in the burnout state again. All the best to you. Always looking forward to your videos.

Hi Mel, as a Mom who also worked from home, you have to cut yourself some slack. Trying to work at the same pace as when the kids were on vacation from school is not possible. I also strive to have a batch of photographs so I can list in one session or list when I can. Without the photos, you can't list, so make that the priority and adjust accordingly. I know your goal is to list 30 items a day, but you may have to relax that goal a bit. Adjust your schedule. Maybe you photograph one day then list on another. Whatever you do, make sure you have opportunities to catch up with yourself and rest. Thank you for your videos and inspiration!

Regarding workflow and feeling like you are constantly on the grind. While you aren't able to build up the draft bank what you could do is be "one day ahead" with your photos. So that at the start of the day you have the 30 photos ready (ok, actually 32 to start building the draft bank 😉). Then you start the day with a folder of photos ready for listing, as it seemed to me that that set you up for success to get your listings in at the start of the day. Then during the day you can make time for photographing so that you will have 30/32 photos ready for tomorrow. It might sound a silly little tweak but it just might set you on the straight and narrow again.

One things for sure, watching these youtube rah rah videos and hearing all the money ebayers make on books (if true) is partly based on the algorithms. So the average or occasional seller won’t see a dime for a long time! Even if selling the same books that sellers say “I made $25 on this book”!
@backfromburnout
@backfromburnout 2 жыл бұрын
The more you sell in one category then yes the more eBay will give you authority and rank you in the algorithm. That’s a benefit of niching. Last time I looked at the quality listing report I ranked 7 in used books in Australia out of 28,000 used book sellers. My sales have been shown in my recent videos but my average cost of goods is $1 and my average sale price is $25-$27 and I average about 18 sales a day currently. Although I’m full time I only do part time hours on eBay. The rest of my time is filled with KZbin and the four kids. Thank you for watching.

I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!! YOU ARE SO UPBEAT. I am not motivated right now to list my E-Bay items. It feels like I look at my listing room and go Ugh!!! I think I am overwhelmed right now and need to get a better mindset and just list and list and list. It drains my energy just thinking about listing. I know I am in burnout. I have been doing this for two years and am tired. I am also not sourcing anymore - it is not fun anymore. Watching you I think I can do this I just have to get off my butt and DO IT!!!!!

Ok my advice to you is start low. Maybe 5 items a day to list. Stay consistent with that. And the rest of the days put some up beat music on and start organising your space!! You won’t feel nearly as overwhelmed once you start organising!

Mel you are such a hard working mum! 👏🏼 I'm a Movie collector. If you are storing DVDs on your shelves, if you can try to store them vertically, instead of stacking them all on top of each other. Only because the pressure/weight of the huge stack can damage the disc/case at the bottom of the stack. Sometimes the disc (at the bottom of the stack) will stick to the plastic especially in hot weather and then the disc doesn't work anymore. Just a tip for storing DVDs while you wait for them to sell. Store vertically.

Know the feeling Mel! I keep the photos of my items on my phone, I’ve worked out I work better having them there, so when I’m out waiting for an appointment or if I have 5 mins in the car waiting I list an item. I’ve set myself a little mental goal per day so as long as I list that amount I’m happy. I have a question, what happens when a buyer doesn’t pay? This was through a auction and they were the only bidder. Do you just keep sending out reminders? Or after a while relist the item? Ta x
