I was one of those disappointing Hindus. Not used to living upto any standard at all. Now trying a bit. Not my fault. I come from a very religious Brahmin joint family but they never passed their knowledge to me. And I openly blame them for it (not disrespect). But it’s not completely their fault also because they are also working hard in this materialistic and commercial world to earn their living for their family and children like me. Now I try and learn things about our Dharma and Spirituality and convey it to both my elders and young ones in the house. I try and learn science and reasons behind our rituals. Sometimes my grandparents surprise to know the actual reasons behind their ritual doings. Sometimes people perform for the sake of performing. That’s why I believe in today’s world we are just a.....spiRITUAL being. Young ones here please read and watch about our dharma, culture, history, religious books, rituals. In Sanatan sanskriti you have a liberty to ask questions so think, read and ask as many as you can. Nobody’s going to behead you for that. We are the only oldest civilisation alive on earth. You have told the truth here.. we cannot and should not blame our parents and grandparents generation because they had other priorities in mind. We should in fact be thankful that they practiced what they could without knowing the reason. Because had they also questioned and not got the answers that we are fortunate to get because of internet and connectivity, we would have completely lost our way. @Khushi Puri this is a tough question Khushi. My two cents...hinduism backbone is vedas. Any so called expert, not aligned what vedas promote, is a fake guru. Vedas differentiate between deva and bhagawan. For example, rama or Krishna is deva but not bhagawan. Any one who doesn't understand this is fake hundu guru. There are no shortcuts and if any one says go to that temple, do this and your troubles will go away etc is a fake guru. For Vedas there is no religion. One who differentiates between religions is a fake guru.

It was decades ago, and a Sunday Indian newspaper magazine published an article titled "Why I Hate Indians: Sex On The Mind, Fear In The Heart" by a Bengali author, Nirad C. Chaudhuri. He published a book called "Autobiography Of An Unknown Indian" in 1951. So we Hindus have been attacking/criticizing ourselves for decades. In Tamil Nadu in the 1960s, there was a huge ANTI-BRAHMIN political uprising. India's own Constitution, written by a Dalit, actively promoted this idea. We Indians have no unity; never had; this is why foreigners were easily able to invade. It was always one Maharaja against another, inviting Europeans to help defeat their rival kingdoms. And so it goes. Even here in the USA, in larger cities, Indians cluster by their regional attachments. Gujaratis form their own groups, and so do Panjabis, Tamilians, Telugus, and so on!

And it is more than what is expected from a person as an individual (that is, without any help from an established institution). By your life-long work, you have offered an "ahuti" in this great "yagna" - it will not go waste. But rising of Dharma - and with it Rashtra bearing this Dharma - will take time, due time. But there is an alarming caveat to all this process: If population control and demographic change in India is not controlled soon enough, this process will go hayware. As of now, only UP Chief Minister seems interested in and capable of achieving this. But there are great odds against a political India. Let us hope for the best.

Integrity of Rashtra is important to protect dharma within and outside the country. For that we need a nationalist political party like BJP (even though not perfect for so called "purists" who are not only impatient but also seem to have forgotten horrible 70 yr old rule by the corrupt congress) Since 2014, BJP has been slowly correcting all the adharmic decisions made by the corrupt congress and their commie/marxist henchmen. Using mice for scientific experiments not being Dharmic, is your assumption. Dharma is not a static idea consisting of dos and donts but an active engagement with life, so as to keep the balance of creation going. So while we use mice to test drugs, we might also look at ways to live life without the necessity for so many drugs. Pharma companies inventing new illnesses just to keep their companies going is definitely Adharma. Rashtra on the other hand, is an idea and it’s a politically useful idea.

Ramakrishna Mission has a limited sphere of influence confined to specific locales. RSS is intellecually deficient and inconsistent. Their commitment and strategy fall short, in my opinion, for lack of clarity and conviction. You can be intolerant with critics, but really reflect on your contribution to culture intellect and philosophy, which will decide the future course of Hindu civilisation.

A question was asked of a Master about India few years ago: “Master, why does India have so many Buddha statues and stupas?” Answer :That is because India is the place on Earth that has the most pain and suffering, philosophical thinking, the highest number of elders with wisdom who cultivated different dharma gates and possessed different levels of wisdom. Regrettably, there were no enlightened beings during their era and thus, they were only able to gain the wisdom of the mundane world. With these limitations, they were not able to break the fetters of the cycle of reincarnation. Fact is, there had been many ancient Buddhas who were born in India. Moreover, this is not the first and only India. Many Indias and Earths had been through the stages of destruction in order to arrive at the current Earth.
