Its sweet yeah, you can tell there's a solid friendship between them. However Honey could mean anything, depending on culture or how its used normally. Us southerners use it in colloquial speech all the time, I'll refer to my (female) boss as honey, or a relative child, or other people I'm familiar enough with when they're doing something egregiously stupid or have injured themselves.
