Micheal is great to work with, in no small part because he is a photographer. I've been testing these since May and he has been very open and receptive to feedback. No, like... seriously. Not pretend listening and nodding, he actually cares. Even the pre-production set you have has changes from feedback I gave. I have one of the prototype cases and they are going to be super cool.

Afternoon Alex, Ok, admittedly I’m a procrastinator at times, filters for photography is at the top of my procrastination list. Or is it the bottom 😂 I’ve been shooting photos for twelve years and every time a new set of filters comes to market I go through the same process, research, read reviews, figure out what I think I need followed by no action. Yep, twelve years of thinking I need filters and I’ve not ordered any yet. I’m really starting to think I don’t need them… But I’ll watch your review of this set and we’ll see what happens. I just received my 77mm set with some step down rings just the other day. Have not had much chance to try them out yet, but very impressed with the construction and overall quality. Love the color codes.

Alex, agree on your critiques of the Freewell system, I lost my CPL...just popped off and the lens cap was always in the bottom of my bag.

That was a lovely first snowstorm, very Colorado-gone in 24 hours. Those filters look awesome! It's been so long since I've been in the market for new camera kit, I'm sure I'm missing out on all sorts of cool things like that. Will definitely pick some up once/if I ever start upgrading my body and lenses.

So, I am going to give a reason why you might want to stick with the Kase over any other filter set… here me out. When I went with magnetic filters, I tried the Freewell first and sent them right back because the Nikon Lens cap didn’t securely fit onto the magnetic adapter. Why not is this a problem and why not just use the magnetic lens cap? Because no magnetic lens cap is designed where you can pinch it from the front to remove it. This is a problem, when you have a lens hood (especially on the Nikon f mount 24-70) it is very hard to remove the lens cap. If you remove the lens hood, the magnetic cap isn’t strong enough to stay on the lens. So, for me, it is in absolute requirement that the original lens cap securely fit on lot the magnetic adapter ring. The Kase is the only filter set I know of where the Nikon lens cap fits perfectly and securely onto the adapter ring. I was going to purchase the Mavens (they look incredible), but I decided to order an adapter ring to test it out first. Sadly, the lens cap doesn’t securely fit onto the adapter ring. It does fit, but it easily falls off and the Maven Lens cap is just like all the others where you can’t easily remove it from the front with a pinch like a traditional lens cap. So, I’m purchased the new Kase Revolution Magnetic filters who, frankly, ripped off Mavens idea to color code their filters. Since the New Kase filters are backwards compatible with the old, I know the lens cap is going to fit perfectly. This is a big deal to me and I just thought I’d add this in case it is for anyone else

I backed these on Kickstarter and am looking forward to using them. Currently I'm using Kase filters and the one huge gripe I have with them is the magnets. Barely bump them on anything and off they come as well as coming off inside my bag. One thing I don't understand is why you would put felt on the inside of the lens cap. It's nothing but a dust magnet. Every time you remove the cap the lens or filter is covered in dust.

I'm really considering these. But right now my eye is on the Fujifilm X-T5 l, so I will have to see if these are within budget for my gear upgrade purchase this year.

A pitty we can’t get them in Europe without absurd shipping and custom rates. The world really isn’t made for the small crafters and business people. 😢

Looking forward to the review, but I have a question. I'm assuming you have to have a magnetic adapter on your lens for these filters. Does that introduce any vignetting when a filter is added? I pay my bills with real estate photography, so a CPL lives on my lens full time, but it would be nice to add an ND as necessary. Does stacking multiple filters add any noticeable vignette? Thanks!

Yes it will the further you stack. But this is the case with any filters. The thickness is comparable to non magnetic. I’ll do a test eventually
