you're also overlooking things you can interact with because you're very twitchy with Shepard when moving around. For example when you entered the area where you fight you were towards Mordin there were some resources you left lying around. Things you can interact with pop up with a blue outline which you've seen already. But moving to fast can often result in these outlines only being visible for a fraction which means they can be easily missed. But I see that you went back and still got it! Take your time next time, move slowly and look in every corner. and enjoy your MORDIN TIME!

If you dont mind bit of an advice:While using charge you really want to have your shotgun equiped. Shotguns do insane damage up close. Asses sitaution on your mini map...if there is only one or two enemies charge, shotgun in the head for extra damage, f to melee them to death, then take cover. Rinse and reapet. Evolving charge and your passive power is priority because charge restore your barrier and have some invincibility frames, so if you can use it more often it can really save you and you can kill enemies fast. I enjoy enjoy your playthrough very much!:)

Well, Mordin is pretty great :) he’s personally my favourite character in the entire trilogy. He has such depth to him. One of the best written characters in mass effect without a doubt. It’s fun seeing someone else experience this game, truly a fun ride.
@ksw85142 жыл бұрын
Mordin is awesome, and his character arc only becomes better the more you learn about him. Probably the most well-written character in the whole trilogy. Gameplay tip: equip the shotgun when you use charge because it deals higher damage at close range. Charge into an enemy across the room, finish them off with shotgun or melee attack, then charge into the next. That's the playstyle the Vanguard class is designed for, and it's a lot of fun.

@@TheSunQueen Try learning some biotic combos. Very powerful. Like, use Pull on an enemy and then immediately Charge them. Charge eventually refills your shields. Charge enemies at low health to get your shields back. Also, be ready to do a heavy melee attack immediately after a Charge. Like, in the same breath.

So glad you love this game too, it's a real pleasure watching you explore the Mass Effect world. Mordin is one of my favorite characters too, well worth talking to after major missions. But all of them are fun to talk to--Joker for sure is a hoot! I practically had to stick a Post-It on my screen "remember to set my ammo"--fortunately is stays turned on for the whole mission, actually indefinitely as Shepard doesn't visit the weapons locker or pick up a brand new weapon. The Vanguard's incendiary ammo very good at burning enemy armor and stopping krogan and vorcha from regenerating. The squad will eventually turn their own ammo on, but at start of mission I like to turn the ammo power on for each of my squad that has that power. And it's fun ordering them around: "Switch weapons!" and set the powers on :) In ME2 the Vanguard is a close-range fighter, deadly with a shotgun but will take lots of damage quickly--a high risk, high reward fighter. I rely on my squad to bail Shepard out, so I wait for squad powers to reset before I go charging into next group, and pause frequently during combat to see what powers that they can use that will help me quickly take down enemies. My favorite weapon in ME2 is the Geth Shotgun, good against shields and barriers (not armor, I use heavy pistol for that). But the Geth Shotgun (available at a discount on Omega) has a charged attack that can one-shot enemies at surprising range. I know it's way to soon to talk about replays (or maybe not, since you love the game!), but if you do someday, the Adept class is a hoot in ME1 (practically a biotic god) and Adept can get through the intro section of ME2 without firing a gun once. As you can tell, Adept is one of my favorite classes :)
@artursandwich19742 жыл бұрын
Incendiary ammo which is one of your powers is quite effective against armor. So if you have a krogan against you, who will basically usually have armor on them, using that incendiary ammo on your gun... well it's useful. Once you plant it on your gun it lasts the entire mission you need to plant it on each gun separately. Of course you can mount different types of ammo on each gun if you have them.

I have faith that you'll check Investigate option in the dialogue tree in the future during future conversations, so not gonna pester you about that. I'll tell you about certain combat stuff though: You can't use powers directly most of the time on Armored (yellow bars), shield (blue bars) and Barrier (purple bars). But, certain powers can be used. You have incendiary ammo, apply that to cause fire damage. There are certain combos you can do, like you do Pull, then a squad member does Warp on the same enemy. This'll cause a small explosion. There's a few more ways of triggering this explosion! Experiment and find out on your own. Also, map your powers to certain inputs that way you won't have to open the power wheel repeatedly, and keep the fight going without interruptions. I know you missed it this time, it's totally okay to not use the dialogue interrupts, both Paragon and Renegade. Sometimes, they can be rude, sometimes helpful, sometimes badass. Don't feel the urge to just stick to Paragon interrupts though, Renegade interrupts can help too. Also, Yup! No debate there, Mordin is like my spirit animal, My thought process is kinda like his, and maybe my long comments too 🤔. Fun fact - Since, you can do all 4 of the Dossier mission in any order, you can bring an alien squadmate on the mission (Dr. Okeer for example). They cough a bit, some dialogue is different and Mordin immediately cures them on meeting. I'll mention this again just in case you missed it, but the entirety of NPC conversations can be heard if you stand close, let dialogue end, run away like 10 or so metres, and then return, do this repeatedly till it loops. Some are quite funny and informative.

29:20 When hacking make sure that you never hit a red segment - that sets you back one already decoded segment (in this case you already had 2 of 3 decrypted, then you hit 2 red segments and where back to 0). You don't find probes - you buy them at fuel stations. 5 probes cost 100 credits which means they're dirt cheap. Fuel is required to explore the non-mass relay systems of a cluster and can also be bought at fuel stations - fuel costs 1 credit per unit, a full refuel from 0 to 1000 costs 1000 credits. Make sure that you always have enough fuel - if you're running out while travelling between systems you start to burn ressources (element zero, iridium, platin and palladium) instead and that's something you definetly don't want to happen. You gather ressources by scanning planets. Each planet has a value rating - don't bother scanning planets that are not rich, you' get a lot less ressources from planets with lower rating. The majority of the planets is rich btw. You should visit each planet at least once during the game, there are some small side missions that can only be detected this way.

33:51 | Technically guns are still unlimited ammo. While Shepard was dead, they figured out it was better to replace the thermal clip (the thermal chamber that collects the heat from your gun), and started producing guns with changeable thermal clips, so now you don't have to wait for it to cool down, but you can pop in a new one and continue shooting. But imo, they missed an opportunity with the mechanics. They should've added the cool down mechanic for when you have no more clips, or for every clip if you don't want to reload, ever.

Vanguard class is my favorite class and I know all there is to know about that class. I will share some tips to make the most of playing with that class for combat. Click the *read more* if you want to see those tips. Each of the six classes has a class special ability. soldier has slow down time, infiltrator has invisibility, engineer has combat drone, sentinel has tech armor, biotic has singularity, and vanguard has charge. Vanguard is a close range specialist. And its charge ability takes full advantage of that. its a high risk& high reward, very aggressive type of play style. Weapon of choice is the shotgun. Weapons deal more damage, the closer you are to your target, except snipers. shotguns is especially dangerous at close range, from you or your enemy. thus where charge comes in. charge immediately closes the distance and slams into the target doing damage, and putting you in melee range so you can finish them off with the shotgun, doing serious damage that can one-shot many enemies. Charge is not only a offensive ability, but a defensive one as well. when you use charge, it immediately refills some of your shields and even gives you bonus maximum shields, so when your low on shields, you can charge an enemy to get your shields back, forcing you to stay aggressive and in the enemies face simply to stay alive. depending on skillpoints invested, it can even restore 100% of your shields and slow down time after you charge. The charge will literally send enemies who dont have shield or armor FLYING back, leaving them on the ground and completely defenseless from you shotgunning them to death. Enemies with shields or armor will not budge so when you charge one of them, the moment you step out of charge, push your movement analog up so you move into the target as you come out of charge and then blast your shotgun, so your at point blank range, doing the most amount of damage and significantly decreasing your charges of missing. its hard to miss when your gun is literally clipping into the enemies body. Charge can even go through some environment objects and cover if you can get a lock on a target so take full advantage of that to take enemies out on the opposite side. Its best to charge a targets thats not surround by allies in their immediate vicinity and with some type of cover near by for you to run to when the other targets focus on you as you will be standing out in the open after you charge so you want to dispatch the target you charged and get behind cover ASAP and then pick out another target to charge while your in cover and repeat. Playing this way you can take out a lot of target really fast but it requires a type of strategy mindset in knowing when to charge, who to charge, route planning, cooldown and shield management. But once you pull it off and get it down pact, its the most fun, energetic, highly aggressive and addicting combat style in ME2 once you get the hang of it and get into its rhythm where your dispatching enemies back to back like your in some action movie. You will feel like a fucking god of death and combat.

IMHO guns are secondary to powers, especially when you consider the ease of controlling your team's powers as well as your own and the slightly greater difficulty of using limited ammo. To have an easier time of it, especially at higher difficulties, you need to adapt to those facts.
