be ready for the 2 piece spark plugs thatre notorious for breaking off half into the head. Also make sure you check on the cam phasers as well as if the timing chain tensioners are not blown out (they have an O-ring that blows out as they are pressurized with oil). Aside from that the 3V's are very solid. While you're in there check your roller followers as the center rollers bearings wollar out and then eventually totally fail (also oil pressure based, so any other oil issues like the tensioners, VCT solenoid, etc...can dominoe effect). pypes exhaust are a nice touch and doesnt drone - used to road trip mine 2000 miles at a time regularly.

2014 SHO owner. +1 to the catch can, lots of good brands, I went with UPR and love it. If you want to keep your PTU alive a little longer, change out the oil in it for red line shock proof gear oil. It's pricey, but worth it. Add it in, run it for some miles, then change it out. Their oil is thinner, and will removed some of the burnt on gunk you've definitely got built up in the housing. Last, transform the way the car stands and handles by swapping out the stock springs for a set of H and R springs, gets rid of the rake/butt in the air the car has, and decent shocks, dramatically improves turn in response, with sacrificing a lot of comfort, keeps the car very streetable. I live in New England where the roads are crap, and the ride is still fairly smooth. Last, consider swapping out the trans mount for a solid trans mount, makes the shifting under load feel like a legit sports car, will help with your 1st into 2nd gear loss of speed, shaves time off the 0-60.

Man, just when you think I couldn’t be more into this channel, you buy a SHO. I’ve had two SHOs, one Gen 1 and one Gen 2. Both manuals. (I really miss my Gen 2) I haven’t even seen this episode yet, but it gets an immediate thumbs up. Can’t wait to see what you do with this one!

When we got my wife's SHO, it had a JLT catch-can installed. No CELs but a slight shudder under hard acceleration and a severe power drop after 130mph. Plugs were out to .042, replaced plugs and made sure they were properly gapped. Shudder gone, she pulls hard all the way to the 140mph speed limiter. After driving for 15k, (88k on odo) decided to service the PTU, the fluid that came out looked like maple syrup. Apparently, the PO loved her!

3:55 - As a former GM W-body owner myself, I would LOOOOOOVE a series on that Regal!

Oh, and I almost forgot...BRILLIANT video! I'm so happy to see this car get some recognition, and everything you did was spot on. Now, if only the car had a little more after market support...

Alex I had a 2015 and loved it. I had it tuned on E30 with careless down pipes, exhaust, and upgraded intercooler. Car ran low 12s consistently and daily driven. Look at Gearhead tuning in Texas for tuning etc.

Yes let's see the regal repair also might be a good idea to add a catch can and methanol injection for the SHO to keep the intake clean

I'm so jealous... I had bought a brand new 2019 Taurus SHO and then COVID hit, my wife and I lost our jobs and we were forced to give it back. Was by far my favorite car I've ever owned.

I remember when the Taurus show first came out in the 1990's. It had a Yamaha motor in it. My dad and I loved that car and I always wanted one. I love your car. It is such a car guy car. Such a sleeper and is one of those if you know you know kind of car. So happy you bought it. Can't wait to see more content. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

About the GTR, agree. Remove the black above the exhaust and go with the red!

55:38 At the very least, I'd do 3 things: 1. Get some lowering springs or coilovers to lower the SHO a little bit and get rid of that rake. 2. Get some wheel spacers if you're gonna keep the stock wheels on it. 3. De-chrome the car with either black spray paint, Plasti-Dip, or vinyl wrap. Other than that, I would go full bolt-on mods (cold air intake, full exhaust, etc.) with the car, along with an upgraded fuel system, and get an E85 tune.

If you ever have to retrieve a small foreign object from the spark plug well again. try using a powerful shop vac and some spare rubber hose the fits in the hole. Cobble together an adapter for the shop vac to accept the rubber hose and boom, no more greasy cotton swab song and dance

I save all my old oil bottles and leave them on their sides stored so the residual oil collects near the cap, when I have about 250 empty bottles I drain all the residuals and get about 1 gallon of new oil free, also this is the best kind of re-cycling

39:40 I'm so happy that the S.H.O intake shuffle still lives on. The gen1&2 had the most beautiful intake manifold with secondary butterfly valves. Needless to say it was a shuffle to get them back together after putting the Big Bore Butterflies in. You heard of the 2-step this was the 3rd.
