My dad, my brother, and I are all sanitation workers - people who do the best they can at their jobs. But there are a few people who can't relate to me cleaning up in my 20s

I guess you don’t need an alarm clock. Your wife’s yelling also helps all the neighborhood to wake up! My heart goes out to him. Your job is probably one of the most important in all countries. Why? Because of you, people can wake up in the morning and be amazed how beautiful it looks thanks to you guys. Our highest respect for your job.👏👏👏👏👏

This is very true! In amsterdam i believe a year ago the sanitation workers, the people who take the garbage, were on a strike. It caused for a lot of chaos in the city... These people are the cornerstones and very important. You will only notice if they dont work anymore.

Importance does not correlate with admiration. In fact, in most cultures, the most admired jobs are some of the most useless. Such as models, social media influencers, athletes, actors.

They are a hard working family. It doesn't matter what you do, it is how you do it. On a side note, shocking at the amount of garbage people throw in the streets.

I wonder if there’s an update for this lovely family. I wonder if the older son’s graduated, found a better job, found someone who loves him truly not minding his family background and married with kids. I wonder if the younger brother still working the same job and with more kids. I wonder how are the elderly parents doing with their health. I hope their life got better after that. Even their living not the best but the mom still help out those alone elderlies 👍🏻 She didn’t forget those who are less fortunate than them ❤️

Second time watching the documentary, touches my heart every time. Coming from a 달동네 myself I wish them well. Korea is hard to move up the ladder, thankful my parents were able to immigrate to the US. Now I do better than most ppl in Korea, always wonder type of person life I would have if my parents never moved.

Watching this doc, one feels such admiration for how these parent's raised their 2 boys to be such honest hard working young men. Any young women with any sense would be lucky to find someone like either of these boys to be their husband. It shows that, no matter what happens, these boys will take any job to survive and ensure their families don't depend on others to put a roof over their head or food on the table. Every family strives to have what this family has achieved, a strong commitment and support for each other. There is no shame in honest work, no matter what the job is.

Thank you for sharing your life story. I'm glad to have watched some of K-Doc documentaries. The stories are so close to our heart, and we can resonate with the struggle life simply put us through. Despite the challenges, how we find joy and strength at the end of the day is what we must decide for ourselves. The title of the story did not capture my attention until I stayed to watch till the end. Just want to say I wish you and your family lots of happiness and good health. I have so much respect for what you do and most of all keeping the family always together. I love your family already. May your dreams come true and be bless every day. I look forward to watching more episodes or any updates from you soon. Keep it up K-Doc!

The two sons and their sister are very good looking. Lovely family in all ways, actually. They play and work together and most of all support each other. So many times, in the modern world, families have to live apart for school, work and other reasons. A close knit, extended family is so rare these days. I hope this family is still close and still supporting each other.

It shouldn't matter -- as long as it's honest work and all work should be paid a decent living wage, include benefits and a decent time off for vacation, sickness, family leave, bereavement leave, etc. -It shouldn't be just CEOs who earn enough to live on (they earn more than enough). Countries like South Korea are now part of the developed world and should come up to standards like those in European countries. I refer to Europe rather than North America because the gap in wages between CEOs and the bottom workers -- particularly in the US is out of control.

It does matter, well for guys at least. As much as women don't wanna admit it, a man's job and by extension, status and income, greatly influences how attractive he is.

they should be PROUD of their positions. Keeping order is important.. you can tell the difference in an area littered with garbage vs a clean area. they protect the citizens from diseases carried by rats and other scavengers that could carry fleas that have dangerous diseases. i cannot leave my work space without cleaning it. and also i found out the souls of our enemies get turned into our trash.. so bang that trash around before the truck smashes it!! the whole family at work your family should be prideful, maybe even create a family business

I love your show. I wonder when this video was shot. Propably late 90s or early 2000s because of the video quality and the phone they use. I dont see Korea especially Seoul this dirty now. Maybe the country’s sanitation has improved or maybe I was not looking in the right place. I hope the family is doing much better now. I am really curious.

I think rules have changed pretty drastically since then. The building I lived in Korea was trash nazis. You had to separate everything out even snack chip bags: 비닐. Then, I had to pay for a trash bag which was basically only for used paper towel and cig butts (smoked back then). (I would freeze my food waste and then dump it every few days in the used food cans.)
