Jello Salad is what my Granny always called it. She made a red colored one that had jello (powdered form),cool whip, cottage cheese and crushed pineapple in it. It was always jelled in a Tupperware Jell ring mold overnight. Yummy🤣! Many people eat it as a desert but we included it as part of the meal. I still make this today for my family.

17:22 that lime jello salad I've made it using dry lime jello, crushed pineapple, cool whip and cottage cheese. It's so delicious and refreshing in a hot day.Btw: Watergate salad is made with pistachio pudding not lime jello. As far as the green jello dessert you asked about.. We call ours Pink Stuff. My Granny always made it for every holiday, but she used strawberry jello mix. It was not gelled at all. You mix a can of crushed pineapple (drained), a large container of cottage cheese and the large box of strawberry jello mix. Once mixed together, you can cut up and add a few bananas if you like. Then fold in a large container of cool whip. It's ready to eat. She also would put pecans in it sometimes. It's delicious, I also make it every holiday for my family. I hope you make it and love it.

Green jello with cottage cheese and pineapple-a staple for thanksgiving growing up. Absolutely delicious!
@mariannemccurdy73618 күн бұрын
About the lime jello, pineapple,Cottage cheese and 7-up and pecans, thats one of my favorite recipes!! 1 large package of lime jello, 1 cup boiling hot water, add juice from the crushed pineapple after jello is completely dissolved and add a 16 Oz cold bottle of 7-up. It HAS TO BE 7-UP!!!! NOT ANY OTHER LEMON LIME DRINK!!! Let this sit in your fridge for about 30-45 minutes to just start 'setting'. Stir in the pineapple and 2 cups of Cottage cheese and add chopped pecans.....how ever many you want....I use about 1/2 cups....fold it all together and set it in the fridge for 3-4 hours or until set completely. I love this stuff.

But i like tidbits. * stir in 1 package of lime jello mix or any flavor you like. I use sugar free. But use what you like. * Stir in some mini marshmallows, about a couple nice handfuls * Fold in 8oz container of cool whip. * Let set up in fridge And Enjoy❤

If you make your own frosting using Powdered Sugar , vanilla and a bit of milk it will form a hardened crust once it sits in the air for a bit. The store bought highly processed icing stays soft and makes it difficult to hold or wrap up without disturbing the icing sometimes wiping it off completely. Just a suggestion….my kids would love this.
