I love these FENDT tractors and CVT transmissions

Welcome back to another video! This video I talk about Fendt tractors but more importantly their CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) transmissions! They are truly in a league of their own!

The Fendt CVT is bar none best in business. The 45 degree pump angle allows for high efficiency (more stroke per rpm) and enables more of a direct drive from the engine to both PTO and rear axle. When comparing all powertrain options in industry the trans with the next FEWEST parts is the Deere Powerquad.... with 3x as many power engaging parts! The Deere IVT has over 4x as many parts. The more parts transferring power the worse efficiency is and the more opportunities for failure. The 933 has the ML240 and the new 1167 has the ML400. Doing some quick math on the ML400 : it'll handle over 800 engine hp! ...I'm curious what Fendt will come out with next :D

Almost all tractors since 2010s now come with CVT, if my memory serves me right, Valtra were among first manufacturers to include CVT as an optional in the 90s for their tractors and after 2000s they came as standard on almost all Valtra. It be interesting to see how the new electric tractors are suppose to do, gonna need a lot of batteries to get the same power.

I Love Fendt I don't think there's another brand that provides this much comfort for the driver , not to mention the ergonomics they've incorporated in every detail.

Living in an area that is 80% green I am told often that the Deere IVT is the most efficient at getting power to the ground. Do the Nebr. Tractor Tests have any way of determining efficiency?

I am not sure! All I know is that the Fendt CVT does not have one clutch pack where as the IVT has all clutch packs. I would be curious to know tho! Thanks for the question!

Hello Austin, what is that steering wheel on the Fendt? The German version says FENDT on it.

I think it is a "replacement" Steering wheel for the gps system to steer the tractor as it has Topcon writen on it

Hey Dieter, yes Maximilla was correct it is just an aftermarket steering wheel. It is an Electronic steering wheel that connects to the external (aftermarket) gps to allow the tractor to be steered by the gps. Usually we connect into the hydraulics to keep the factory steering wheel if the tractor was not ordered with gps. however this particular tractor, we could not get the proper parts for that so we had to go an alternate route and use an electronic steering wheel.
