Happy to be living in Poland, where my family doc prescribes majority of these tests and I do my bloodwork every month. Every now and then I add some more exotic tests that I need to pay for, but overall all this stuff is free for anyone who is willing ro monitor their health.

While I agree with your point, a ton of problems will go under the the radar if we dont occasionally look. Just think of how many people die or get irreversible organ damage from preventable issues they discovered too late. I would prefer a false positive and a health scare over not knowing im sick. I found the podcast you mentioned, maybe I will change my mind after hearing what they have to say !

Super Interesting. Too bad they don’t have something similar in Canada. I would be the first to sign up if they did. FYI only, stopping resistance training 3-7 days prior to blood work can prevent a false positive of elevated liver enzymes. Stopping creatine supplementation for 7 days prior to blood work can also prevent a fase positive of kidney dysfunction. My hemoglobin is also on the lower end but not abnormal range. I was referred to a hemotologist who is doing blood draws every 3 months. He is scratching his head as the needle has not moved I eat meat, my B12 levels are normal. His theory was that inflammation may be causing my bone marrow to dial down red blood cell production. Yet, he refuses to run blood markers to gauge if inflammation is the cause, go figure lol! He also theorized that low Testosterone may be causing the issue as he had seen that in another patient. Sp he runs a testestorone test and it comes out normal. The guy either does not know WTF he is doing or just grasping at straws! No wonder people lose confidence in the health care system, doctors, and specialists given baf*ons like this 😡

Do you think the metabolic panel would be very different just having some creatine before the test?

Great video, Layne. Thanks for sharing your biomarkers and this useful service. From what I understand, serum iron fluctuates so much in the short term so ferritin and TIBC are better indicators of iron status. I also thought GGT was not influenced by resistance training.

I knew Norton was gonna get sh*t for this in the comments section 🤣 Taking sponsors is fine guys, especially when they are within the scope of the channel's theme, _especially_ when the content creator _does_ use said service, meaning he believes in its usefulness. If we don't like or agree with it, we can just ignore it and move on. We do have the right to not see eye to eye on everything. It's simple. But let's not get entitled and think content creators have to provide us with entertainment and/or education for free at all times and that they can't monetise their content in any way.
