Did the study break down the definition of meat ? Like were they smokers who ate pizza and hamburgers and bread when they consumed meat?

There is something to be said about not being hungry in the morning. People who brag about not being hungry in the morning dont realize this means you were likely not in a calories deficit the day before. If your diet is failing to create a calorie deficit, you need to make adjustments. Eating hi fat, hi calorie foods doesn't help you create a deficit either, like eggs, avocados, nuts.

The Asian dude is 100% honest. But you seem to believe that your opinions are front and center over the facts of his presentation. influencing Industry shills do more damage than good when the bottom line takes priority over the welfare of the common good. Cows milk is high in fat, intended to raise a calf of substantial weight. Farmed cows are pumped with toxins to ensure over production, resulting in infections of the animals, pus in your milk and infected meat on your plate. The studies are widely available.

I'm not and will never be a loony carnivore, and I know full well that we don't need much fiber, and it doesn't do all the shit fiber lovers claim it does, for most people.

I was fascinated listening to Dr Lustig. He was very factual and had a great wealth of knowledge. I listened to the whole 3 hours. Most of it was highly beneficial. 1 or 2 things I held as ‘unsure’ but the point is… we take what people say, mix it with our own power of reasoning, and conclude what we think makes sense. What I do not find beneficial is this video scrutinising every word said and picking bones out of every statement made. Every single person on the planet is imperfect. We will all say something that may not be entirely inaccurate. I find videos and channels like this incredibly boring. Making money off the back of others who are genuinely trying to bring value into the world and lives of others to help them whereas this video is just making money off those people by slagging them off. That’s my opinion. Try adding value off your own back and give your own advice rather than giving your advice based on the back of someone else’s.

People who eat plant protein generally eat more unprocessed foods. Someone who has the willpower to eat bloating, bad tasting plant foods, also has the willpower to not eat processed foods. People who eat more plant protein get more fiber, micronutrients and less shitty chemicals. This is basically useless epidemiology. But we can assume that protein is beneficial from the RTCs and because eating a lot of protein is part of the natural human diet.

I know that this new overly sarcastic, super animated style of yours for presenting your material entertains people who have the attention span of a gnat, but frankly brother, some of us see it as childish, boorish, and completely unnecessary. You have a PhD, and you obviously walk your talk because you're in great shape. Plus, you're a handsome man. Isn't all of that enough? Let your information speak for itself. Enough with the pandering to idiots.

Eddie blew out his endocrine system by jacking insulin for muscle growth so now he can't eat "shit" because he destroyed his body. Speak for your stupid self Eddie because normal people can eat normal foods. Maybe you shouldn't have jacked insulin when you weren't a diabetic

I've been a vegetarian for 40 years and definitely NOT a low-carber. I doubt that any of us know anyone who has gotten fat from eating too many black beans, sweet potatoes, and oatmeal. And I believe the evidence you show, Layne, about glucose and insulin not being the devil. But....I know that simple sugars can also cause me to go on a bender. For instance, I am just almost over a two-month bender that started with Great Grains Maple pecan and ended with Lucky Charms 😒 So I don't know what the mechanism is that makes me crave bowl after bowl, but it has wreaked havoc and caused me to gain 8 lbs on my small frame. The bottom line is, the more sugar you have, the more you want.

It's so frustrating. People will find a method of eating that coincidentally reduces their caloric intake and then make the non-causal conclusion that WHAT they eat is what is helping, instead of HOW MUCH they eat. ARGH! I wear a CGM and keep my carbs down because THAT'S WHAT WORKS FOR ME. For anyone else? Do your thing, whatever works for you.

High carb diets increase plasma saturated fat. ( sounds crazy, I know, but this is based on RCTs ). Dietary ( consumed ) saturated fata do not. Studoes saying saturated fatas cause insulin spikes were wrongly based on two methods: directly injecting saturatwd fat into plasma or into a cell culture - bothe of which are not natural. Consumed animal saturated fats do not spike insulin. Mainstream media continues to quote older studies. Dr. Bikman explains the biochemistry of rhe above in great detail if interested.

Since switching to beef only keto with extremely low and most often no carbs, I am rarely hungry - even when I eat! I was eating twice a day starting at noon and the first meal kept getting later and later so I started eating once a day around 2-3 pm. Surprised how whike not being hungry, I can eat a 20 oz steak or bigger, despite never having done so in my life. Never felt better and never slept better after decades of sleep problems and attempting every sleep ‘solution’ you’ve ever heard of. 🥩

Intersting. Even if you buy into this, most of the studies while few and far in between if anything and whilr not totally 100% conclusive if anything show a possible greater benefit to insulin sensitivity based on Early Time Restricted Eating. So, based on that you are better off eating at 10 am and 3 pm vs 12-1 pm and 6 pm. Just saying

You seem to not even understand what LDL is and how its linked to cardiovascular diseases. LDL is needed in the body and very useful, but oxidised LDL is the issue. Now, which fat btn saturated and PUFA is suseptable to oxidation?
@biolayne1
@biolayne1 9 сағат бұрын
Yeah, I’ve actually adjusted that multiple times. Large LDL still penetrates the endothelium. Small LDL penetrates the endothelium more easily, but it carries less total cholesterol. The net effect is both are equally atherogenic. Try again.

I have a PhD in nutrition too and I roll my eyes whenever i hear this woman speak. She is fear mongering and as someone else commented the body is not so fragile. In fact it can deal with all sorts of "upsets". I think she is also using her appearance to push her ideas. As a woman I despise this. Bottom line is everyone's body is different and how food works in one person will not necessarily be the same as in the next person.

Do we have any studies examining if fiber in form of supplements has the same effect as eating fruit and veggies? Because to me that seems like it would be a high correlation effect, and not direct causation, so supplements shouldnt be even remotely as effective.
