'Hyung' refers to his brothers that is BTS. He says that he came to join bts when he was only 15 years old without any scent of his own. His brothers( bts) raised him to be the person that he is today. He tells them that he only feels pain when the other members feel pain and wants to support them in any way he can. His love for them is immense and this song is a celebration of that also from the storyline too. He is the 'maknae' of the group that means youngest one. Hey Sam... Remember when I said I wasn't much of a commenter? Although here I am one more time to comment on your video haha So first thing, the term hyung is for an older brother in Korean, so Jungkook basically made this song for all the other BTS members :') The Wings short films are quite a work of art. I'm glad you decided to react to them because from what you can see each video contains a lot of information - either by sounds or imagery. Namjoon will narrate each short film in the beginning, and those beautifully written words are from the 20th century classical book titled Demian by Herman Hesse (a coming of age story made as for the aftermath of World War I) and the Wings era are based on the struggles of growing adolescent into adulthood. Anyway, all the 7 videos are intertwined between the members and their own storylines and there's a lot of symbolism (fire, apple, water, feathers, etc) and the sound design is also a big part of its characteristics; for example the painting burning and the sound is not of fire, but underwater - which later on you will understand I guess, I don't want to spoil much 😅 The picture with blood in the eye Jungkook held was Yoongi (again, later on you will understand)! To be honest these short films were the reason that I got intrigued with BTS, as an actress in formation I saw how the dark inner self of an individual could be portrayed so amazingly. You get mesmerized by all of it. As much as I got scared/uncomfortable in the beginning just like you did, but I think art is made for us to think on things we weren't able to explore before, you know? I'm looking forward to your reactions once again, hope you're doing well and your family too! 🥰

I love your reactions! My favorite thing is the Wings short films, so I'm so happy you're finally reacting to them! These short films have a lot of symbolism, so after you watch them all individually I suggest going through and watching them all again in order! I've seen these so many times but every time I watch them through again, I pick up more details that I missed before! Every film is connected, and it really has so much symbolism (relating to the real world and their fictional storyline)! As for this particular short film, the painting he is looking at is said to be Suga (notice how it catches on fire). In the storyline him and Suga are connected.. it will make sense as you finish the films.

If you want to at least somewhat get the same experience that we had back when the short films came out I would really recommend watching the short film first and then the full song/lyric video since the films actually came first anyways ^.^ Don't know if you know this by now but the whole short films were actually a giant teaser project for the then upcoming Wings album in 2016 spanning over several weaks of us going crazy trying to deciper each scene, the storyline, all the references, where the narrations came from and literally playing the films over and over again to look for more clues and later when we found out that the titles of the shortfilms were actually teasing the tracklist trying to imagine what the full songs could possibly sound like xD I'm so glad I was already part of the fandom back then because holy shit was that an EXPERIENCE I will never forget. Waiting for every short film trying to decipher what it means, researching into Demian and overanalyzing ever second of footage together, you can't even imagine the amount of TENSION right before the Blood Sweat & Tears MV and consequently the album finally dropped after months of teasing and anticipation 😂 that's why in my eyes BST era/comeback will always be a legendary undefeated Queen 😂.

FUN FACT : RM wrote this song based on Jungkook's stories. There was a hard time back then. They sat down and shared their feelings and Jungkook said his hardest moment is when he sees his brothers(hyung) in pain. Then everyone in BTS broke down crying at his words. the painting represents yoongi since ever member has someone tied to them: jk & yoongi (suga), rm & tae (v), jimin & hobi & jin is always the one trying to save them. the painting was actually burned in this short film & jungkook later then recreated it himself.

I love your reaction videos! You do such a great job listening to the instrumentals/lyrics and appreciating choreography. I know you already saw Who is BTS? The Seven Members of Bangtan, but I think you’ll enjoy it if you watch it again now that you have a better recognition of the band and its members. If you rewatch Jungkook’s part in that you’ll see them refer to both Begin and the word hyung. Looking forward to Outro Tear tomorrow!

"Hyung" means "older brother" in Korean. It's a way of addressing your older male friend or older brother in a respectful way. In this case, Jungkook is refferring to the other members in BTS ( because he's the youngest). Although this way of saying older brother is only used by younger males. When a younger female wants to say that, they use the word "Oppa". Blackpink also used this word in their song "BOOMBAYAH".

i think it kinda shows on Sammy's videos that he reaally likes cinematography and stuff. idk but the effort of trying to be consistent with his background and clothing, or the intrumental of the songs used in the intro and outro and the frame he uses to surround the video hes reacting to. maybe it's just me but im so used to reactors just slapping the vid on some corner and going "hmm" every now and then. point is; his videos are really refreshing
