Good stuff. There are some videos of these in auto gimbal / manual gimbal and also head tracking but no tutorials to be found. A tutorial video showing how to set it up in both ways would be excellent 👍

I basically reverse engineered and minimized this thing to fit under my 460mm lifter quad. It gets a lot more low profile if you flip the pan servo and recess it into a frame plate
@LongusFPV6 жыл бұрын
Use it with a headtracker! I know my skyzones have a headtracker built in, but i still haven't figured out how to use it, cable does not fit to my qx7 trainer port, but it's a ppm signal, so it should work. Probably not with the flysky.

does this come with the controller to control the pan and tilt?

Great video. Looks like you're limited to 90 degrees of rotation too. Any idea how to get the full 180 degrees? Thanks

You just need to solder two 2.2k resistors to the potentiometer. There are some videos on KZbin about it.

Please get a head tracker that will plug into your trainer port on the radio and have it head track a camera for 'VR' FPV.

I prefer the small fibreglass ones as they're a bit more compact but they're getting harder to get hold of now. Been using them for a while now on my scale FPV setup for use with head tracking from right inside the cockpit. We even ended up using them in a TV production and they performed flawlessly with the Turnigy 180 degree servo for the pan and a regular 90 degree one for the tilt.

I'll have to dig it up again. It was a quite heavy Bormatec Maya, really build to be a drone. It flew like a bus. I broke something and put it aside 🙄 A head-tracker demo should be possible. After that I was fully absorbed by multi-copters 🙂 But I'm already planning to build another plane for this, most likely a classic biplane, I love biplanes 😊

I’m actually completing a build that incorporates 2 head tracker gimbals, with 2 cameras on each gimbal. I also figured out how to have an upward facing camera that is available to both Pilot and Co-Pilot. It is possible, but more than a little tricky.

I got mine today, it arrives as two little baggies full of little parts. No instructions. Haha. I suppose if you were a teen use to assembling model airplane kits this would be a total snap and fun to figure out how it all joins and puts together, but my vision is crap so... yeah... all these tiny small parts like the axle pins, it might be an unnessary nightmare. I just want the tilt function so... I guess I pick and chose and build only for that. Now that I think of it, a better method for me might be to get a second DJI camera, and have one pointed at 0 degrees, and another at 45 above it, and then with a tiny relay, switch the video line feed line between to the air unit while keeping both powered on. It could be done with transistors used as switches instead of a tiny relay, but i'd have to design a tiny circuit board. How to make it talk to a servo pad tho on the nano crossfire hmmmr.

@choppergirl4 жыл бұрын
We don't need pan, in fact pan is a liability, we just need tilt. 0 to 60 degrees up for the main DJI air unit fpv feed camera. Connected to a crossfire nano extra breakout pin. I'll throw my money at you. I'd kill to set this up on a switch to flip between 0, 30, and 45 degrees uptilt... and it seems so simple to do. It's just a servo bound to a channel. Maybe this will be my first fpv product for quads.. so bloody way overdue. Ordered mine, lets see how I can mod this thing and lose half the function and half the weight. I think the nano has two/three extra pins to direct drive two/three servos. Correct me if I'm wrong. I absolute dread soldering on those little bastards though... air-war.org
