I Love You to Death is a 1990 American dark comedy film directed by Lawrence Kasdan. It is loosely based on an attempted murder that happened in 1984, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where Frances Toto repeatedly tried to kill her husband, Anthony.[1] She spent four years in prison for attempted murder
PLOT:
Joey Boca (Kevin Kline) is the owner of a pizza parlor located in Tacoma, Washington, and has been married to Rosalie (Tracey Ullman) for years. Rosalie is horrified to discover that Joey is a womanizer and has been cheating on her for a long time.
Rosalie does not want to allow Joey the pleasure of having every woman he wants, so she refuses divorce. Taking extreme measures, she enlists the help of her mother (Joan Plowright), and co-worker Devo (River Phoenix) to kill Joey in order to put an end to his infidelity. They also hire two incompetent, perpetually stoned hit-men (William Hurt and Keanu Reeves).
However, Joey proves nigh on impossible to kill. Despite multiple attempts to poison, shoot, and bludgeon Joey to death, he remains blissfully unaware that he is being targete

This is my funniest movie of all time. I am 44 years old and has seen it countless times. It´s rare to me nowadays to find movies that are both funny and heartwarming. For me it´s all in the small details with small scenes and maneurism that makes me smile. Allthoough this film has a small cast every part has the best actor in place. To look back at it now it almost seems ridiculous to get them all in the same movie.

I grew up in Tacoma, Washington, where this was filmed. It's fun to see familiar old landmarks and haunts from my childhood...Bob's Java Jive, the Bostwick building where Joey's Pizza is, the Wheelock Library in the Proctor District....Franco the Tailor near Stadium High School helped Kevin Kline with his Italian accent...

I always thought he looked like a younger version if Leonardo DiCaprio. Any way River was deep so sweet and deep in this and My Own Private Idaho and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade I wish he was still here, so sweet and loving he died a baby at 23. It sucks but at least J. Phoenix carries on his memories with his amazing performances.

Funny scene here; RIP River Phoenix...Keanu Reeves looks like he's channeling his Bill and Ted character somewhat(the wife should have hired John Wick; he'd have had no problem doing this, IMO...)? Tracey Ullman is also good here; she's a good singer, too, IMO...

In truth, Tony's Pizza was located in a small front room on South Eighth St. There was no bar, nothing but a tiny little place. Amazlngly, Frances and Tony are still together (11/19/14), with the business long gone and the building recently torn down.
