I danced with my mom to this song on my wedding day. Long story short my dad left when I was 12 fully abandoned me and my brother. So my mom was raising us on her own until she met my stepfather when I was 16 this song is so special to me. I’ll never forget that moment. And now I can’t listen to it without balling because I think of my own two year old daughter ❤

My grandmother was the one to walk me down the aisle at my wedding. We walked down to the original version but I wish I would’ve found this one. She sadly passed away last March and I’m missing her so much. I hope that when my daughter gets married one day, she’d use this song in honor of her Nunnie(in some way). Even though I’m not a mother, I can relate to this song because I have a little sister who is almost ten years younger than me. I sort of became the little mother after our parents divorced. She didn’t come from me but I was there to see her first breaths and her first smile. Now, she’s 19, has a boyfriend, and I’m just a bit taken aback that she’s a young woman now and not the same little kid I looked after. It feels like yesterday that I held her on my lap when she was four. Then, I blinked and she’s full grown. Where does the time go? It doesn’t matter how old she gets. She’ll always be “kid” to me.

I love this song. Me daughter and I danced to it at her wedding because her father abandoned her, her brother and I when she was 5 so I walked her down the aisle l. I had heard the father daughter version and I wished there was one for a mother and I found this on KZbin. The dj had to record it from KZbin but it worked because there isn’t any version for f this version available anywhere else. I walked my daughter down the aisle last Saturday October 22nd and this was our mother daughter dance song. We have been listening to this song for weeks to practice not crying it didn't work she totally broke down I was basically holding her up on the dance floor. My daughter is getting married September 30th this year and we lost her dad 10 years ago 😢. I find this version more fitting for me. My parents got divorced when I was 10 and I cut ties with my dad over 4 years ago because he was a complete narcissist and I have special needs, which he also never understood at all. My mom on the other hand has done all the research on things about my special needs and has always supported me and made sure I had everything I needed to succeed in school and now in college and life in general.
