Hey it’s your car, you can do what you want with it. Me personally, if it’s the original M3 engine, those things were super quick and ate everything on the track. I’d have rebuilt that engine, maybe a few tweaks here and there without effecting the tranny and diff, beef up the suspension, and whammo, you don’t need an LS

Original engine just rebuild it yourself over time. That way you're enjoying the ride now. When it comes time to sell the " I'm never going to sell it", You'll have the original motor to go with it. There, isn't that easy?

Its a great idea. However leav it without the rebuild. Leave it. Why waste to hone, port and gasket it to sit and waste. Put it on a stand and when sold or later down the line worry about it.

I’m on board with the LS swap , and just keep all the original parts and engine , if it’s ever needed to be returned to stock then you have everything, in the meantime thras that LS !! Great video!

Wheren't you going to put a S2000 engine in the previous not-real M3? Personally I think that would have been a better choice to replace the OE S14. The LS is too heavy and puts too much weight up front, it destroys your turn in. Buddy of mine had an E34 M5 3.8 engine installed in his E30M3 (waaaayyy back) but that didn't work either. But in the end it is your car and obviously 22K is ridiculous for an engine.

I mean the car is worth more when it's stockish (og motor) I'm all for exushts and stuff like that but when you swap ecus it restarts the mileage and it will show if you run a carfax on the car decreasing value even more

Shame you didn't stick with BMW and use one of their V8's. The LS is kinda boring to me but certainly better than the S14 engine in terms of mid range torque to make it a much more driveable car. Probably be a good idea to weigh the S14 engine and LSX to see what the difference is as could need custom poundage springs to make sure the handling is on point.
