Im 27 as well and feel this way. I currently work in special education helping kids with thier academics. Rewarding job but doesn’t pay the bills. In the process of trying to get my real estate license. Took the test once but didn’t pass unfortunately. Gonna try again and just hit the books hard. I hope everyone becomes successful and finds their passion. Thanks for the great video

I thought I was behind in life because I'm seeing people on YT, IG, or just real friends who have a full fledged career, family, etc. I work as a pre-school teacher and a dance teacher, occasionally post videos (but I don't rely on YT at all). Seeing this is really nice to see. Brings me back to reality that I'm actually not alone on being behind.

Go to college! Take STEM. Even if you don't enjoy it at first, find friends or people who make it enjoyful. Have a good return of investment. Or take a gap year and travel somewhere else, make it related to the field you would like to study in college/uni. I wish you all the best. Life is beautiful but challenging. :)

Get into a trade it's never too late
@Kal-El207 Жыл бұрын
Tryna get into trades myself. It’s not that easy. Y’all always say this, and guess what? It’s not simple at all. First off, in order to go union, you have to have a HS diploma or GED. They also REQUIRE those two things. Okay so get that out the way. What’s next? Oh that’s right a passing score on Aleks or Alex tests which is mathematical. A 20 or higher and it’s not simple math either. Next you need to play a $50 application fee on top of that you are required to have reliable transportation, oh and if you decide that this ain’t for you due to the extreme labor, you have to pay close to $7,000 back in classroom fees. So the whole “you’ll be debt free” is absolute bullshit. Next. Let’s say you go the non-union route. It’s easier to apply to jobs. So you got that going for you, next, most of the jobs that are trades will state that they are hiring for “Apprentices” yet when you apply and IF they call you, they say you must have 2 to 5 years of prior experience. Now if a company will train you then you MIGHT be in luck, only IF you are willing to pay for the tools yourself. And we both know trades tools aren’t cheap, you could buy cheap tools but let’s say you’re using a handsaw to cut some pipe and it breaks, what then? That’s right head on over to your local tool shop and pay that $500 for a nice state of the art Milwaukee saw. Trades aren’t bad. They’re needed. But saying “get into a trade” as if it’s just a dick tip away is false af. Most places don’t wanna train, and most will but YOU gotta come out of YOUR pocket for it. And the last option after all that is a trade school. Where you can take classes on a trade. Here’s where this gets fun. YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE CLASSES IN ORDER TO OBTAIN THE CERTIFICATION OF WHATEVER TRADE YOU CHOOSE TO GO INTO. So you mean to tell me, that I have to pay a school or college course my money in order to get a piece of paper stating I’m certified in whatever trade I took in order to then get a job to then get paid for said trade I chose? And as I’m taking the classes, I don’t even get paid for them? So I need a job to pay those classes for that piece of paper right? How do you presume I pay it? Oh that’s right! I need a job! Well how am I going to do that Johnny, without any certification or experience in the trade I’m trying to get schooled for? Oh I know! I need to work at a regular warehouse job or retail job or delivery job that barely pays any money toward my own rent and bills, so I can afford the classes of the trade I want to get into. This shit ain’t easy. Idk how you did it. Maybe I’m just on a long run of bad luck. But that “get into a trade” mindset ain’t helping. Because most of y’all wouldn’t even help someone like me out. As long as YOU’RE good, don’t nobody or nothing else matter. Keep making your money and feeling secure. Ima just suffer.

The people I've known in trades suck. It's a very competitive field and there's honestly not enough work for everyone. Even Journeymen I knew had a hard time finding work. If some of them are even willing to "train" you they'll actively be trying to get you to quit so they don't have to pay you.
