Hard to say - the problem is that you can buy this ship for dabloons in the store for a limited time. I could be wrong as I have only been playing for a year, but I don't think they nerf ships that could be purchased with real world money (I have seen buffs though). You probably know more about this than I do.

I've seen this thing in battle and if you're paying attention to what's going on it's not OP at all. Turn your bow in to approaching bombers and having at least one AA inspiration is a good idea when facing any Carrier. Seen some gameplay with folks bemoaning the strength of this ship while sailing broadside to it's skip bombs...of course they get smacked

I don't understand why ships get better experience for shooting down planes than they do with secondary batteries. It takes skill to maneuver a ship into position to use them as well as angle them for use while keeping incoming damage to a minimum. Meanwhile, you have almost no control over shooting down planes, but you get better experience for that. It's like the person who came up with this idea never played the game.

Just angle to CVs is a good plan in theory but a good CV player will pick you out when you are angled against ships with way higher DPM. So your choices are turn into the planes and get your broadside spanked by a ship or keep angling against the ship and get spanked by the CV. A CV having bombs that hit as hard an Conqueror is insane

Cv mains = guys that played the game in regular ships and ended up with a .6 kd and 42% win rate for ver a few thousand games… all of a sudden become cv players… there are so many easy ways to fix this.. 1) limit plane takeoffs like an actual carrier 2) limit the amount of planes you can launch total, like an actual carrier 3) allow players to know it’s a carrier game when started and select their loadout like many other popular war games 4) allow players to manually shoot at planes with much higher % kill rate than the auto aa..

Played 4 games in my USN Enterprise earlier. I won 3, lost 1 and I de-planed the Chkalov twice. The one time I lost I was decimated. IMO the ship that should be OP, the only ship, is the actual ship that WAS OP during WW2 - the Enterprise, but that's just me.

CV main..love this thing lol. Im 10 games in and have 8 wins and 128k average damage. The russian CVs, imo, are some of the most prolific DD hunters. I already hav 2 dev strikes on DDs. As a tip, for BBs and CVs you want to try and high-point the bombs. Basically, line them up between the skip lines, and your bombs will hit the deck/superstructure.

I cant stand CVS, and i go full AA build, i replace sonar with AA consumable, CV have replaced destroyeds now for most valuable, best spotting and most dangerous IMO. I do not go T7 or T8 anymore just because its so broken with the CV.

If the torps are not great, but the skip bombs are strong, it becomes a bit of a one trick pony. Skip bombs are fairly easy to dodge (even in a bb) if you are paying attention. The problem is that players get tunnel vision in this game. They don't have awareness of teammates, the map, the air or anything other than what is down the barrel until it is too late. As a regular cv player, I have become a lot better at watching what is happening across the board and I recommend it for every player.

Eek, you launched 8 squadrons in the first 5 mins....this thing took me in an Alabama and another BB beside me out in the first half of a game yesterday.....first squadron took 20,000 off me with the the initial attack. With all of the talk about CVs being too powerful in the last year, and them now making stronger ones, makes me think the idea behind it is that this is a way to combat us making too many credits in game. That, or someone thinks making most people cringe when they see a CV at the start of the game is a good thing. You don't even know "if" there is going to be a CV in the game until after it starts and then it's too late to make changes to your AA or pick a fighter (that doesn't do much anyway). Sup with that :) And speaking of sup with that :) I bought an Azure Lane Commander for my US BB and now I either can't understand my commander or if I change the sound then I can't understand any other commander, not good for in game communication. I love tier 6 and 7. Usually very competitive and some interesting games. But the Chaklov has made it toxic at the moment. It makes you play the game completely wrong. You have to go broadside to opposing bb’s to avoid HE bomb obliteration. Ships have to group up just to survive. And DDs are probably better off doing the opposite of what they normally should and just rush the back field hoping to torp the Chaklov. In summary. This boat forces the blue team to go underground and be a bunch of potatoes just to survive.

@ those are two of the pound for pound best ships in the game but i don’t find them as frustrating to play against as CVs. If you’re paying attention and changing your speed and bearing you can avoid most torps, even from the top tier torp boats. The way most people play Mainz as a long range HE spammer just isn’t as scary as it should be. Pobeda,CVs in general and now this monstrosity gives you very little counter play. They shouldn’t hit as hard as they do.

Hey Derka! You have the opinion of someone who hasn't been on the receiving end of this CV yet. Over cooked, over powered, whatever term you want to use. Too much damage and fire chance for sure. Even maneuvering you get slapped too hard. Not sure why or how they could put this thing out so over cooked. Update day is tough anyways and then you add this thing. Very frustrating in so many ways. I swear the matchmaking is suspect at best. You go against this ship every match so you pull out your AA build ships and you don't get a CV 8 out of 10 times. Alright, I'm done griping. Yeah they will have to nerf the heck out of this ship, I've been consistently getting 4+ K/A. I am mostly a DD player (although I use BB quite often too), and decide I had to buy it after getting esentially one-shoted by this monster. Is just outrageously good, got $1.200.000 in a game yesterday WHILE WE LOST, have gotten a Kracken on it, its just nuts. You can still have bad matches in it though. And players must learn that you have to turn inwards or outwards. Unless you are a BB, is it more important to not be sideways to this planes than to anything else. Specially for BBs and Heavy cruisers, a slight angle already reduces the damage greatly even if the bomb contact. For DDs, you can dribble most bombs if you are able to focus on it. Im not defending the ship, when playing DD I hate being against this ship the most. It has to be balanced out.

I play soviet carriers a lot, and I always start out with torp bombers instead of skip bombers, because I always want to make my first hit to be on a battleship , whether it is good damage or not, because as you fly over to him , maybe a enemy dd steps onto one of the caps , so I will immediately follow up the torp bombers with skip bombers to try and get the dd out of the match.

Recommendation from a fellow CV enjoyer (1k matches): Throttle up with your squadrons (forward on movement stick) because it makes the planes go faster. (Chkalovs has 270knts and 280knts on each respectively iirc) The dope bombs are perfect for anti dd play and the high speed can make you catch them offguard or while turning. Chkalov is a perfect CV (maybe a minor bomb nerf, to like 11000 max is perfect) but all these craft are low health and melt in D7P or American BBs. They are brutal, yes, but frail too.

I wish carriers had a third squadron type that just hunted bomber/torpedo squadrons. So as a carrier player you could choose to be defensive and cancel out other carrier player. The stupid way fighters just fly around your ship is very dumb. Why can’t they go hunting. Even the spotter planes. If they can’t spot then at least let them have some freedom to roam and hunt enemy squadrons rather than aimlessly follow your ship and then barely do anything anyway…

They need to nerf the damage once they do that it will be more balanced, but I’ll say this as a CV main this isn’t the only CV I can get up to 200k easily (Graf zeppelin gets citadels on almost every cruiser and battleship) so yeah think people just noticing how good it is because it’s new and they don’t realize other carriers get the same amount of damage lol

If I'm seeing this right, any nonCV main with about 150 total cv games can go out and get 150k damage and 2500exp. CVs are cheating🤣🤣🤣 Gg🍻

​@@DerkaGames it doesn't work. That ship's planes has too much HP and restoration is too fast. I played a Friesland with full AA build. 100 AA rating. For full 10 minutes or so of the match he focused on me until I sunk. I only got 21 planes shot down. and guess what? He still has full squadrons until the end of the match. Fack weeb gambling.
