Just an update in case folks were curious. Within an hour of this happening, the mom came back and the two went on about their day/lives. I've seen them since then, and all is well!

How do you know, that they are the same -the woods are full of deer mothers and fawns?! You haven't marked them -have you!?

@@tillygruber9003 I saw the fawn and the doe within an hour of shooting this video. Did I paint a big X on the fawn and a matching Y on the doe to make sure THAT doe got THAT fawn. No, I did not. This isn't exactly rocket surgery here.

All babies of the mammal world are innocent and dependent. You feel responsible to them as human, in some rare cases a different kind mammal may offer care.

If you love a wild animal, and it is not hurt don't touch it! Mothers quite often don't take it back afterwards -what is a death sentence for the poor thing!!

Gee whiz. The fawn is fine. The mother came back and got it. Not sure how much more clearly I can say this.

@@tillygruber9003 Interesting opinion. Totally wrong, but interesting. First none of my videos are monetized so, strike one. Second the deer walked up to me so, strike 2. Finally, you're making assumptions based upon absolutely no actual facts which seems to be the go to move online these days but still, strike three. Enjoy your day. Maybe go outside and get some fresh air and step away from the computer now and then. Best.

That's a myth
@slickwv5 ай бұрын
@@UltimateFarter--007 from what I've read, you're right, it's a myth. Fawns are essentially "scent free" at birth and what CAN happen is a human scent that gets on them MAY allow a predator to smell them more easily. But that scent will not cause a mother to reject a fawn.
@tillygruber90034 ай бұрын
@@UltimateFarter--007 No, I come from a farm and one of our workers hurt a small deer in the field, he moved it with his hands to a safe place where the machines were not operating -the poor thing was crying for a few day's the mother never took it back, because he had human smell on him! I then brought it back to the farm, and became his human mom!!
@ragerouge28253 ай бұрын
@@slickwv does lick fawns all the time to get rid of unwanted scents, but human touch won't make predators go after them That's because, suprise, predators avoid people
