What would you do if a baby deer knocked on your door?

Take care of it. I don't think I'd let it in the house as deer can carry ticks and other parasites, and I have a cat in the house. But I'd figure out some kind of shelter and food, before contacting a local wildlife rehab organization so the professionals there can raise the animal properly to the point where it can be returned to the wild where it belongs. I once found a deer with an arrow in its side on a walk in the park that's next to my house. I contacted the park rangers and stayed with the deer before they came to take it to the wildlife center when it could get veterinary care. (she never left my side) Happily, the deer survived and was returned to the herd. Sadly, a Canada goose with a similar injury didn't. I found that one on a walk too just standing on the bike path. Poor thing apparently had also been hit by a car and the vets couldn't save it.

Very important note, a roebuck is a terrible and dangerous pet. They become cheeky, unafraid of people, once their horns come out, they are dangerous. Many tragedies have happened as an outcome of similar situations. Please be careful!

To me it looked like Goroshok had seen what the forest offers, but he isnt interested. It might change when the hormones hit, but thus far he seems perfectly content with his human, dog & cat herd.

My grandma raised a deer like this. My grandfather had found it next to it's dead mother, who'd gotten hit by a car. They happened to have a pet rabbit at the time, and the two became buddies, yup just like in the movie 😊 Oh yeah, the deer was named Bambi naturally.

In America if one rescues an abandoned fawn? And raises it. You instantly place a Large ORANGE REFLECTIVE collar on it. So if it wanders Off your property AND THEY WILL. NO HUNTER SHOOTS THEM.

Nature was leaving food for a starving predator and its young. These people stole the food away that mother nature was offering, even though deer populations are very strong. There's nothing compassionate about this because their interference did do damage to at least one other animal and probably more.
