OMG YES! JUST WHEN I NEEDED YOU TO POST! Thank you SO MUCH for helping me get through so many panic and anxiety attacks, GI episodes (I have a hernia and a few other GI issues that make me nauseas and have pain that feels like a broken glass bottle being twisted around my intestines and so far the cause of those symptoms is unknown) and low points and rough days/nights. Glad that the stories help. I'm sure a lot has been considered already, but I'd look into IBS, gluten issues, Crohn's, ulcerative colitis and gastroparesthis. All of those can cause what you're describing, as well as certain autoimmune conditions. Good luck and hope you're able to find answers.

Good eye on that, but the Barron County in the story is meant to be in southeastern Ohio, which is the very edge of the foothills to the Appalachian Mountains that make up most of West Virginia. Great story. The author could've used actual locations instead of fictional ones. It would've been a nice touch. I live in the region. We have a large National Forrest in southeastern Ohio. It could've been set in the Wayne National Forrest within Jackson county(my county lol. Personal bias). That touch of reality would've added to the creepy factor. Jackson and most of the other counties that encompass the national forrest fit the description of the fictional county very well. However, it's a great story either way.
