So, did a POG ass job for 5 years, got out a couple years ago with some regret on not following my gut and taking a job I didn't truly want. Saw this video a little over a year ago and whether or not I'm able to even go back in for recon, this video gave me motivation to be in the best shape of my life and made a promise to myself that if I feel I'm in good enough shape by the time I'm 28 I'll do what I can to try and go back in for it. So regardless of if I end up going back in or not down the road, just want to say this is an amazing video and thanks for indirectly getting my ass in good shape.

I'm late to the party but I also like to thank you all for what you do. Especially to close friends of mine who some are Recon, Rangers and PJs. Many of my friends who joined are in the special operations community and I greatly admire everyone of you. When I'm down, I get up and learn to laugh at misery which is a trait I picked up from them. Currently training to be a firefighter, everytime I put the bunker suit on, I look up at the sky knowing that some of them are up there for the sacrifices they made. I know they are looking down on me proud of the path I took. My way of honoring them.

I use to date a retired scout sniper. I didn't even know thats what he did til several months into our relationship. One of the guys he served with spilt the beans cause up till that point he had just told me he was a mechanic. I asked him why he lied and he said its hard to find a woman who isn't creeped out being with a killer. We ended up parting way on good terms. I just never could imagine this sweet gentle loving guy being a killer. It didn't bother me but it was still strange if you knew him you would understand what i mean.

He said each one was a life and left it at that. I there were 86 casings. It took a while but i realized the reason he was such a nice guy and had so many hobbies was because he was dealing with some serious demons. I miss him sometimes, he's still Alive we just haven't been together for a few years. Sorry if im rambling i have a tendency to go into to much detail sometimes 😭

I was born 2 months early so I developed ROP (retinopathy of prematurity) while in the toaster, causing me to be legally blind in my left eye. Ever since I was little all I wanted was to be a Marine, earn the title. Of course with my vision I can’t. I'm working on my enlistment right now, I'm trying to get a recon comtract. If I like it I want to continue, and possibly become a MARSOC operator. I will be the first in the family to be a Marine, let alone recon. It's videos like this that keep my dream alive. It's the only thing I have to hold on to. I'd feel incomplete without it.

I remember seeing my dad have flash backs, Army, Native American, Navajo, Radio Operator, Vietnam combat. Here's one experience. This was in early 2000's, evening time. I was watching tv in the living room and happened to look over at my dad who was sitting at his "office desk" reading the newspaper or so i thought, but he had no expression on his face, he was just staring at the table. Then he he started mumbling quietly and then slowly turned his head back and fourth looking at everything. He looked lost. He then saw me and he jumped up out of his chair and charged toward my yelling in our Navajo Language and switching to the Vietnamese language. I got off the couch f*cken fast and ran into the kitchen and my dad chased me, I turned around and started yelling at my dad saying "Dad it's me! Your son!" Repeatedly. He then switched over saying radio codes and coordinates numbers. He collapsed to the floor and I yelled for my sister to come help and had her call 911. Sh*t like this happened and I always had a lot of respect for combat Vets. My dad was a great man but I honestly wish he never had to experience that. I'd take him to the VA a couple times a month for his appointments (counseling and Dr. Visits). Just thought I'd share this.
