I bought a 1995 SC300 about 2-3 years ago with 134,000 miles. After some maintenance done with a leaking power steering, costmetics, it’s still going strong. It is my daily driver and is sitting at about 168,000 miles.

We have 2 Lexus ES300s, a '92 and a 2000. I searched for one of these straight 6 models for months, but they are extremely rare and I couldn't find one. I drove Dodge Slant Sixes for 45 years and loved them. I took a tour of the Chevron Additive Center in Richmond, CA. They have engines there that they run 24/7 to test additives. They said that the Toyota Straight 6 was the absolute best engine that they ever used. The worst was the Chrysler K Car 2.2 engine. You continually show me how honest and knowledgeable you are about cars. Bravo!

My upstairs neighbor has a SC300 or 400 v8 2 dr coupe! (Idk if they’re all coupes but it’s nice!) and it’s a smooth ride and very wide! Not too bad on fuel really. But man someone broke both his rear tail lights and he couldn’t find them and anyone that had them wanted $400 EACH so $800 for pair! And this was recently! And the cars old! But starts up every time! It has 500k miles He has a 2002 4dr es300 sedan with 150k miles and he’s already had to put in so much work! Expensive work. Both cats were clogged it was $1,900 Then had exhaust issues replaced front to back another $1.200 Then timing chain job $600 Then water pump $800 Yet the SC300 or SC400 which is way older like 90’s has t had any of those done just brakes/tires/plugs/coils or wires Just reg maintenance stuff… Kinda crazy thing keeps trucking

Uses absolutely no oil. Everything works on the car. The only thing wrong with this car is that it is painted plumb purple metallic. It does turn brown on cloudy days.🤣😅😆😂😄. Still have the car and plan on selling it no time soon. 😎🇯🇵. Yes it was built in Smyrna Tennessee...and that's where we live. I...of course drive a Nissan Titan. Wouldn't drive any other truck except for a good old used Tundra. That's how we roll.😎🇯🇵❤️❤️❤️

This is my favorite Lexus of all time. That 2JZ-GE engine was iron clad. I figure the person who told him he needed a new engine was just trying to get money out of him. Man the 90s SC is a true hidden gem still to this day, its currently getting more recognition. This one owner 130k 2000 (last year made low production) is worth 15k in todays market once that rear bumper is fixed. I have a 98 and I'm never selling mine. The mk4 supra was based on this car! It shares the same suspension and engine. That 2jz is special. This one isn't turbo'd, its a NA ge, but can still turbo it if you change the pistons and rods (vvti only) non vvti you can throw 800whp on it and the engine can handle it. I'm turbo'n it one day. A lot of unknown to the masses history on this car. Value of the car going up more after this video haha.

I still have my 2002 Lexus RX300 that I bought new. It will be 23 years old in February 2025. It has 216k miles. I don’t drive much, maybe 4000 miles a year. I went to the auto shop today for an oil change and told them I had some drips on my garage floor under my car and a squeaky steering wheel. They topped off the power steering fluid that was very low and said some power steering fluid and transmission fluid was leaking from the hoses and getting grease all over the axle. Otherwise the car is good. They want $1850 to fix everything and rotate my tires. I’m going to get 2-3 more estimates. That seems high. They said it’s not an engine problem.
