I am pregnant with our second one now, also a boy, and I really appreciate you highlighting the difficultly of not being able to spend as much time with your first but that it is fun to watch her bond grow with her dad. I’m already mourning the loss of time with my daughter so hearing some hope in that was much needed 🧡

I’m almost 2 weeks pp with my second. I got emotional when you were talking about those nights. When I have a rough day I’m reminding myself that days are long but years are short. They grow up so fast🥲 my son is the same age as your daughter and my second (daughter) is the same age as your son. It’s so nice to be able to relate so much to you. And I’ve been watching your journey since dating Gabe.

I had our second (a boy) 5 months ago, and our oldest is also 2 (and a girl) so our kids are close in age! Now that I am 5 months post partum, I feel like things are so much more smooth, and I wish my newly post partum self could see how we're all doing now. I agree that the transition to two is harder and WAY more emotional! I think around months 3 and 4 I really started noticing that we were getting into more of a routine. It's so hard in the beginning but you gradually start to get into a groove eventually, especially once baby starts napping and sleeping better :) You'll even return to having more time with your oldest! I promise that it does get easier! Some days you'll feel like you can totally do life with two kids, other days it feels impossible, and then eventually there are more good days than bad days 💗

Congrats on your little boy 🥹🤍 I’m 10 weeks in with my first and right there with you in the postpartum feels (ALL of them)! It was also so encouraging to hear you at the end be so vulnerable, and to hear that it WILL get better and that we’ll miss the teeny tiny baby days (even though they may feel tough). Hang in there, fellow mumma - we’re doing great! 🫶🏻

My first is 2 years old and my second is 6 months old so I can totally relate to how you’re feeling! It took until my second was about 4 months old to finally feel like we had a good routine and could start trying to establish naps etc. Now that my youngest is 6 months old, I get one on one time with my toddler during her first nap and I get one on one with the baby during the first half of my toddler’s nap which has been so needed and so special! Hang in there, it truly gets better💛

Our girls were 3 years apart. We kept our oldest on her schedule. So I did do that same schedule with the new baby too. Of course the baby would need more attention for feeding times. But doing the same bedtime and bath time and play time etc all from the start did help and got the new baby on schedule very quick.

Going from 1 to 2 was tough on me too, especially feeling sad for missing moments with my son who is older. It’s still tough now with them being 2 and almost 9 months, but I think a few months in it started to feel more routine. Give yourself all the grace 🤍 you guys are awesome parents

I just had my second 3 months ago! And we’re in a pretty solid routine. Although we have been blessed with a great sleeper this time around, so that makes it a lot easier! I feel like the last couple of weeks it’s just been alot easier and she is a lot less “fragile” now and I think that helps a ton!

Watched your whole video and i just wanna add this, i read somewhere that women who get epidural often feel this way later cause the pain comes out somehow. So just think of these emotions as those suppressed emotions and pain or hurt thats coming out now. And don't take whatever thoughts you have rn seriously. When hormones and chemicals in our body are off, they affect your thoughts too. Your body went through quite a bit so.. And if you need any help, pls reach out to a professional. You're doing great Jess. Sending love! ❤

I had 2 under 2 (pregnant with #3 now) and I would say it went by twos as far as getting better! The first two weeks were incredibly hard, the first two months it was a little better but still hard, by 4 months I really felt we were in a groove with our routine and doing well and by 6 months it was not "easy" but everything felt so doable and so fun! At 6 months baby #2 is really interacting with your family and the world and you get to see the bond growing every day between your oldest and youngest. It's SO much fun!

My first is a little bit over two years old, and my second turned seven months old last week. I would say that in general, it started to feel easier ~ two months of PP when my second started to tolerate being put down for short periods (either in the bouncer or on the playmat). However, we did not have a routine yet; we followed her cues. It was between months 4-5 when I started to notice a trend (tracked everything in an app) and it gave me a push to stop following sleepy cues and instead stick to an age-appropriate routine with wake windows, naps, and bedtime. At the same time, I started to be able to spend more one-on-one time with my first again which feels awesome as I missed that. It is true, initially, my partner was on toddler duty and I was on baby duty, now we can switch a lot easier, however, I am still the main caregiver for our baby which is due to breastfeeding and her not taking a bottle from her father (she occasionally takes it from me, so I hope we will get there where she takes it from others). I wish you the best! You will get through the sleepless nights :)

I wish they were readily available in my place. Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. He is 59 & has so many mental health issues plus probable CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac. He's constantly talking about killing someone. He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD know if it is common for an obsession with violence.

All three of my kids have been breech until the very end too! My first flipped on his own and stayed head down. My second flipped in the hospital before the ECV and stayed down long enough for me to be induced. My third was head down at the hospital as well so no ECV but we ended up having to have an emergency c section because she flipped breech as soon as my water broke 😅 I kind of wonder if the shape of my uterus makes it more comfortable for them to be breech or something. Never a dull moment!

I think I'll try to find something to make having to get up in the night feel like something I'll miss. Im pretty good at making the most of things, specially when I know they wont last much longer. Obviously the baby will be the main thing, but something for in the moments when it gets on top of you. Like idk, watching a new show and only letting myself watch it when im up in the night. That worked for the dishes 😂

I just had my 3rd (5 weeks ago) and the only thing I've changed to help get into a routine is to meal prep all the meals throughout the day and week. I also let my older 2 (4 1/2 years old ) and (2 years old) watch leap frog dvds in the mornings so I can sleep more while me and baby sleep. I will say going from 1-2 was a lot harder then 2-3 mostly because you can't just sleep when the baby sleeps anymore. And you are now outnumbered which was scary to think about. Now I just have my oldest help out with the other 2 and it's going ok lol. Likes to play mommy role a little to much at times lol.. We're working on it. Things to look forward to are when they do start palying together and becoming best friends in front of your eyes. And having the oldest have someone to entertain is always a plus as well. Congrats on your little family! You guys are doing great! Take it one day at a time. Remind yourself you are learning just as your kids are and it's ok to ask for help when you are overwhelmed. Your not gonna do everything right and that's ok. We all make mistakes. Also take time for you and Gabe when the kids are sleeping. I'm still in the exausted phase with our third and my husband and I are putting our kids needs before our own. Right now that's fine we have to. But it's not like that forever. So yes make time for the 2 of you as often as you can.
