You might get this a lot, but you have no idea how happier and calmer I feel after I watch your videos. Sometimes life gets at me and nothing helps it quite as much as your videos, I’ve noticed. Not a book, not a podcast… nothing was making my brain switch off for a few minutes. So thank you Josie, for the videos, for the informations you share with us, lovely places, your dogs your house. You’re such a beautiful human being! Keep up the good work ❤

In that extra space you do not know what room is besides the staircase, you probably have a bigger Priest Hole. Probably a whole room. Houses that hid Priests rarely had only one hiding place. And they offen had a bigger room for if the Priest had to hide for days. Check it out, that would be fascinating.

Dexter and Dickens must have been so excited to have their mom and dad home. My girls would be so excited when I returned from a trip that I would worry their tails would get hurt from all of the wagging and wiggles. Mysti would have tears, not sure if your doxies do that as well. We lost Mysti December 30th our last Doxie as we lost her daughter Tootsie a year and two days before. 😢 So glad you are back. Your honeymoon was a magical paradise. ❤

You need wide tubs with sturdy lids that you can slide under your counter for bagged soil. I empty the bag of soil in the bin, place rubber bands around the empty bag, and place the empty bag inside the bin on top so I always can look at it later, if needed. The tight lid will prevent bugs, excess humidity, and other unwanted visitors. I LOVE your seed bin!

Thank you for doing yet again a gorgeous vlog. Your fur babies just adore you both xx

Another lovely vlog. It lifts my spirits to see you already getting ready to garden for spring/summer 2024!! As for your nature vs nurture dog question - I think all dogs are born with a loving nature and if they are blessed to belong to a sweet, kind, and loving owner then the dog will give back nothing but sweetness and love. I adopted my little pup when he was 18 months old so I don't know what his babyhood was like but his original owners dumped him when he was just a year and a half old, I can't imagine why because he is perfect - every day since I found him I've tried to make up for those early months - he has returned my love many times over and he will be 7 yrs old on Valentines Day! Hello from South Carolina!

Good for Charlie -with so many bins a schedule is needed, especialy when they're on different days and weeks. Our local Council used to send us out a schedule - we have 4 different bins collected fortnightly or monthly - but you can sign up for email reminders which I find most useful as the email arrives the day before the bin is due to be collected.

It's a true bucket list item, I'm so delighted with it, and didn't expect the hood to have a wire in it, which was a totally amazing surprise... thanks for all the reminders of the 'corduroy collar' and all - it helped me decide which one to buy.

I've not read Food isnt Medicine, but I totally get the "you are not a mouse" bit! Squirrels can eat mushrooms that would kill us with no harmful effects, and for dogs, onions, chocolate and grapes are poison. So just because mice react in a specific way, doesnt mean we will, although you'd think that a species chosen for this kind of testing would be similar to humans in terms of what foods they can generally tolerate.

Welcome home Honeymooners! So sweet of Charlie to create a bin schedule however if you go on the Council website there's one you can download. Isn't it wonderful to see the first brave spring flowers emerging. Never to early to start planning for the local horticultural show! Maybe a venue to add to your Cotswold guide.. a Pig hotel and pub are due to open this Summer in Stratford and another in the village of Barnsley near Cirencester, more gorgeous venues and gardens🥰

Josie - if you do want to avoid seed oils in your oat milk… Plenish have recently launched a Barista version of their oat milk and the thickener is coconut oil! Admittedly it doesn’t go quite as frothy as the Oatly version but it’s not bad!

100% pistachio! I’d probably sacrifice all other flavours and just take a box of green squidgy heaven 😂 It’s refreshing that you are open to reading some of the “debunking” literature out there, Dr Joshua Wolrich can be a bit heavy handed in his style and I definitely don’t agree with everything he says but I think it helps to remind people to embrace critical thinking about their diets and nutrition (or anything really!). I’m a lawyer by day so tend to go into full geek mode on everything 😂 I too cannot give up my oatly barista, I just can’t, and am stopping beating myself up for enjoying it!

I planted narcissus outside in a terracotta pot before Christmas and they were blooming on Christmas Day and are now green!!! I was shocked so good old England gave me white narcissus in my garden as a lovely present and the smell is amazing. I am now thinking of where to put my snowdrops and primroses which I collect and try in different areas.

Josie I grow micro greens and herbs hydroponic in my kitchen . I use a ton of both. I grow some in quart canning jars with a mesh lid. The grow better on an angle, you can buy wrought iron holders. I buy a cheaper loave pan and tip the jars in there. I have friends who grow cherry tomatoes also. I would have put the meat and chutney inside the sandwich.

I think what the “Food Isn’t Medicine” author was trying to convey by saying “we are not mice/rats” is that our bodies do not always function the same? Similarly to something well established like “dogs shouldn’t eat chocolates or grapes” whereas humans can. I have not read his book, but I do agree that that statement needs to be expanded on more! Obviously we test on mice/rats before people for a good reason, but we also need to know whether these processes affected in rodents have a similar equivalent in people!

I have always been interested in nutrition from the age of 10 or younger as my mother researched it and I will look at Dr Peter Attia's book. Independence to an old age is important ie cooking for yourself, shopping and gardening and housework all helps to keep the mind and body active and dancing and socialising. Having interests. It is a fascinating subject.
