New subscriber. Quality over quantity. Making good quality videos doing what you love is so important or you will burn out. I do it for the memory and to share our adventures. If it is not good quality, it is not going up. Yes, editing takes a while. Good thing I enjoy each step of the process. Keep up the good work!

Jed, I really enjoyed your personal insight regarding the mental health benefits of riding. I totally agree with your perspective. For me, riding really keeps my anxiety in check and, as a result, I am more patient and pleasant with everyone in my life.

New subscriber here 😊 Congrats on the new ride and cant wait to see what you planned for it. I have the same in black and nealry completed my build so far well i think i have 😆. Also own a LRST which is another story 😆 Also added a BMW - GSA to the collection for those adventure trips planned. Sorry for your loss and i understand the feeling of lossing loved ones. Enjoy your bikes and keep on riding and cant wait to see your new uploads. Which reminds me to start working on my channel too 😆. I would love to see your camera 📷 helmet setup as thats where i am still struggling with finding the perfect setup especially for audio.

DUDE, you have an El Diablo! I am SO jealous. I am kicking myself for not scrambling to find one when they were still available. I actually have a deposit down on a Fast Johnnie Low Rider ST, but as time goes by I am starting to talk myself out of it... Regarding my helmet setup, I am still using an old GoPro Hero 8 on my helmet and often on the bars facing back at me. The one on my helmet is mounted to a custom chin mount by these folks: chinmounts.com/. I have the Media Mod for the GoPro and run a cheap lapel mic into it. I think the one I am using is a Purple Panda purchased from Amazon. I tuck the lapel mic into the cheek pad of my helmet and use a dead cat to further deaden the wind noise. I constantly experiment with different positions for the mic in the helmet.
@khalilismyname Жыл бұрын
@TheJedRides thanks I have a soft soft for the colour red 😆 🤣 😂 and the el-diablo was like, "You need me." 😆 🤣 😂 I saw the fast Johnnie, but if I was going to purchase one between the sand white purle and fast Johnnie, I would go for the sand white purle. The only issue I had with the fast Johnnie is the 2 stripes on the side, they could have done something differen. The logo of fast johnnie could have been better as the first time I saw the logo, I thought it was alf. But overall that blue with white is nice 👌 but the sand white pearl looks amazing with the bronze 🔥 Thanks for sharing the helmet setup and eventually I'll get there. So currently I'm testing the sena 50C that has the camera built in but still having an issue with the sound. But really appreciated 🙏

@@khalilismyname The footage I have seen from the 50C is not stabilized as well as from GoPro, but it would be nice to be able to utilize the Sena mic for video.

Hey Jed I appreciate your videos. I traded my GS for an RT which I didn’t like at all. Got rid of that I’m looking at the Road Glide ST. Guess we have similar tastes. Thanks for the ride and review I’ll test one. I dunno if I can wash my bike 3 times a week though

Loved the video Jed! Interesting that you have both the BMW RT and the Road Glide ST.... I'd be interested to hear which you prefer as both are in the sport touring category.... Love to hear your thoughts, maybe a comparison video... Also, the new helmet is quieter IMHO.... Cheers brother... we are here with you on this crazy bike and life journey!
@TheJedRides Жыл бұрын
Jim, thanks for the comment. I do have both bikes, at least for now. Bottom line: there is not a more capable "sport touring" bike than the BMW R1250RT, period. On the "sport" side of things, its electronic suspension is sublime. It produces 136 crank HP and 106 lb ft of torque in all the right places. Its radial mounted Brembos are incredibly good. And it only weighs 615 lbs. On the "touring" side of things, it comes with heated seats and grips, a huge electronically adjustable windscreen, a fantastic TFT display, a shaft drive that requires minimal maintenance, and a 6.6 gallon tank. I have never felt more confident on a bike than I do on that one. HOWEVER, the Road Glide ST, the 806 pound pig that it is, is a thing of beauty that is comfortable, with gobs of torque down low, where it feels really good, and it is an evolved a bagger as Harley can make. It is incredibly nimble for its size, such that it is not unpleasant to ride in the canyons, and it is a beast on the open road. It is put together by union workers in the heart of America, and I feel good about that. More importantly, I feel REALLY good riding it!

No such thing as a Harley sport touring machine, I’ve owned an Ultra classic, a BMW K1600B multiple other bikes and currently on a Goldwing DCT. I would have a Harley as a second solo bike for the soul/feedback and ability to tinker and customize. There’s no one do all bike and the RT has always been on my short list and when I want a lighter mile muncher I will have one. It’s all about the smiles and miles keep riding and putting out the great content.
@roadglide Жыл бұрын
100%. No explanation necessary. Harley’s unique culture and vibe both at the dealerships and on the road is like no other. Agree the Road Glide has a very pleasing curb appeal. Paint is top shelf and Harley’s unique sound ride belongs to Harley. KZbin content creation should be fun. If it’s anything but fun Jed and you’re only thinking of a performance bar it’s going to be a hard workout and workouts are typically uncomfortable. It usually contributes to people failing to stay with it. All that said. You have a beauty. Enjoy it. You do need some well placed Custom Dynamics lighting though-out though. The C5 looks great. I see they padded the entire strap area unlike the Shoei Neotec2, which strangles my neck whenever I look down. I returned it to Cycle Gear. Gotta check the newest Shuberth. Ride safe and often. AGATT
@TheJedRides Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I’m told the Custom Dynamics lights are the way to go. The C5 gets a big thumbs up from me. It actually fits my head better than a Shoei, which until known was my favorite helmet.

Welcome back Jed! Sweet new ride - I was gonna say, I would have traded you my RG Limited for your RT. But then it’s only a Limited and not an ST 😂 But - 3 bikes! Don’t apologize for what you own - when you work hard, you buy what you want and who cares what anyone thinks. That mortality thing is a bitch - I’ve got you by 14 years my friend, so ride em while you can - I sure am. Is Kenny off to the Harley dealer next? There’s no ride like a Road Glide - except my GSA is pretty sweet too. Ride safe and enjoy 👍
@TheJedRides Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words! Maybe I would have been better off with a limited, who knows! But the ST has been pretty fun so far! As for Kenny, while he admires the Road Glide, I don’t think there’s much risk of him buying one. He loves the RT (for good reason). But never say never!

Congrats!, what were the tradeoffs between this and the Lowrider ST that have this winning?
@TheJedRides Жыл бұрын
GREAT question. I am still not certain I made the right choice. As much as I love the Lowrider ST, ultimately I decided that the Lowrider ST was not going to bring me as much joy as a cruiser as does my FXR, and it was not going to handle as well as my BMW R1250 RT. The Road Glide, however, as a touring bike, has certain characteristics that neither of my other two bikes can deliver. It’s road presence coupled with the way it delivers power is what sold me. That it manages to handle as well as it does was the icing on the cake!
@seevip76 Жыл бұрын
@@TheJedRides great insight. I'm thinking about the ST but I am wondering if it lacks the soul of the older bikes. How would you describe what the fxr gives you vs the ST?
@TheJedRides Жыл бұрын
@@seevip76 another great question, friend. The FXR won my heart 25 years ago. To me, it’s the most beautiful Harley Davidson of them all, and for a bike that was developed over 40 years ago it’s quite capable. The DXR community is a fun group of people as well, and it is extremely devoted. That said, even with a hand built twin cam motor and full Ohlins suspension, mine cannot match the performance and handling of a Lowrider ST, which may be my favorite modern Harley, my recent purchase notwithstanding. I am in a unique and very lucky position to have the two bikes (plus the BMW).
