I'm sure it's a great bike. But for me it's too expensive. There are plenty of great bikes for 10K that I would enjoy just as much.

Loved the footage and tutorial. Question on the manfrotto clamps. When using two clams, do you have the ability to swivel the selfie stick or does it always have to be perpendicular to the pipe/bar you’re mounting the clamp to. For example, you have the two clamps connected to the bar next to the rear seat. Rather than extend the selfie stick straight back could you have rotated up or down? Thanks advance!

Thanks for the comment. To be honest, I have moved away from these only because I have simplified the way I capture footage. As a consequence, I can't comment intelligently on your question. I am sorry I can't offer a good answer. Maybe someone else will?

By the way, Jed, I noticed that the 1st gear on the RT is pretty darn tall and getting the bike to move from rest is bit tricky compared to all the Japanese bikes I have owned. The friction zone seems to occur on the last bit of the clutch release. Could you comment on whether the 1st gear on the GS/GSA is similar to the RT or are they geared differently?
@TheJedRides3 күн бұрын
I think that is mostly a function of the BMW hydraulic clutch. It's one drawback to moving away from a cable. You definitely get used to it, but I personally prefer a cable clutch for this very reason.

Funny enough, as a taller guy at 6'2", I feel like the bars are at the perfect position for me to just relax my arms and they're there. I was worried about it at first, but it's actually quite comfortable. More comfortable than my old sport bikes that's for sure.

I can't do a 2 yr owners review because ... I don't have it anymore! But I stand by every compliment I have ever paid the RT. It is a phenomenal bike, and it is hard to imagine a better sport tourer. Kenny still has his, and he still thinks as highly of it, maybe more.

Fellow Jed here, with the same bike, no less! I can mirror your sentiments about the Sportster S. Fantastic bike. Aside from the wheelie bar back end, and the uncomfortable forward controls, I love it. The color on this thing is pretty interesting. Looks dark in the sun, but put it under some florescent lights, and it appears nearly orange! I installed the mid controls, and a tail tidy. The mids help my lower back quite a bit. Also, setting up the shocks to your rider weight goes a long way. (according to manual) Such a difference between road mode, and sport mode!

I can imagine those mids feel great.

Thanks man. I gotta admit, though, I just swapped the Supertrapp for a Thrashin (made by Fueling) and I actaull like it better. The Spertrapp was my sentimental favorite, but the Thrashin pipe looks and sounds better to me, and I suspect may perform better.

This Bike has been a Hot-Mess since 2021 with Gremlins, and motor Electrical/trans issues..Has H-D fixed them ?? Everyone I speak to about this Bike says, it's nothing but a Hassle and trips to the Dealer for warranty Work. And Yes, I test rode one, and it's amazing in Sport Mode, but if the thing keeps on breaking down, and spitting out Engine Codes that have to be fixed, then H-D better get it's Shit together, cause the word is out, that these things are not reliable. And you really needed to talk more about what mode you were in, and educate yourself on the Bike before blathering your ignorance about it.

It has everything I don’t want. It’s a ‘clutter cluster.’ What a mess…. If I want a sport bike, I’ll buy a sport bike. ‘But it’s fast’ …..don’t want fast. ‘It’s got more horsepower’….don’t need it. Seems all you did was complain about the ride as you went along. Old people aren’t interested and young people can’t afford it.
@TheJedRidesАй бұрын
But it’s fast! 😝 Just kidding. Your points are all valid. Still, though, it’s impressive Harley can just decide to build something like this and then do it. Now if they would just release the Bronx bike they teased several years ago ….

@TheJedRidesАй бұрын
Hey thanks. Pandemic supply chain issues caused short supplies of chips needed for ACC and radios so the Premium package was dropped for a period and turned into a package the name of which escapes me now that had everything but those two items. A “Radio prep” option was added for a time that included the speakers but no radio unit.

Bro could have really made all that power with stock evo just by adding few parts to it😢
@TheJedRidesАй бұрын
Maybe, but at my ripe old age I have found that when I find a craftsman or a mechanic I really trust and I let them build what they want to build, I come out ahead. Eric had built a number of twin cams they way he built mine, including on his own Dyna that he had ridden across the country and back. He said it would be bulletproof and he recommended it over building an Evo. As I mentioned in the video, the bike still has its stock primary and tranny, and the frame wasn't modified, so the bike can go back to being an Evo if I or someone else wants to do it. I had him fix the cases and rebuild the stock Evo engine from the bike that I have sitting on a stand in my office, too. I feel really good about the way we did it.

Just sold my GS 1200 rallye yesterday , thinking of picking a used R9t scrambler as an everyday bike and living in a smaller mountainous area . I hear the suspension is quite mediocre on this . How did you find it especially coming from a 1250 GS ? Appreciate your feedback back . I realise this was 2 years ago though .
@TheJedRides2 ай бұрын
The suspension on the R9T is of course nowhere near as sophisticated. For “be-bopping” around it is perfectly adequate, but you’ll notice it in aggressive cornering for sure. That said, it’s a fun and comfortable bike.
