Sorry, forgot to add this: It's also your attitude. When we get to the place of "I don't care" when we go through our death piles...there's no desperation for a sale and pow...the sales come fast. Your enthusiasm soars when there are fast sales which changes the energy in your warehouse and store! I'm so happy for you.

I think it’s when we learn to take the emotions out of business and start to think of the items we’re selling as widgets. When we sell a widget we can then use the profits to buy more or better widgets. We must remember we can buy these widgets daily anywhere we go so there is no need to hold on and store them. Just keeping snowballing them with sales.

I agree and disagree. There is a truth to being more objective about what the business is really about. However, if there is no passion for what we are doing, then what is the point?

Hi Mel, Military books sell very well. Look for small publishers as these only produce small numbers of books. Also, books that are very specific to a military unit. Self-published in military are worth picking up.

Some really nice sales Mel, well.done.. I don't sell lots of books but would probably do more if I had space. Had a great book flip last week with some Penguin Forces Book Club books, a stack of 8 that I picked up for 80p. I couldn't find much on them but I thought they looked interesting. A great hunch, put them on auction starting £10 and within an hour was messaged by a collector of these books offering me £750. I bit his hand off and he paid straight up, said he'd been looking for years. He could have waited 7 days and probably got them much cheaper but he wanted them so much he went fir it. Maybe they're worth £1000s but I couldn't find any evidence to say so and the 750 was much needed to help pay the vet's bill! 🙄. Keep up the good work. 😊

Hi Mel, you are absolutely right - it takes the same time to list a $10 item as an $100 item. I started eBay when freight was $5.50 for a small satchel and $10.50 for a large one. As freight increased it made sense to bundle similar items together. It was your videos that showed the way.

Im loving the new Mel! Out with the old, in with the new! I see a lot of negative comments from other sellers in regards to taking lower offers because then "it's just a race to the bottom," but I am of the same mindset as you. I am much happier to take the offer and get the money in my pocket even if it's a few dollars less. I often wonder how long it might sit at full price for someome else while I take an offer and sell another two items in the same time...

I know you got them for free and made a killing on them but a fiew more dollars profit is always good. If you have an issue with shelf space thats another thing but once that is sorted i would go back to getting the max amount possible on the really good books that have instant watchers

The FF books are always in demand, I haven't seen anyone mention in the comments, the books are played with dice & the adventure sheets are either at the front or back of the book where people would use pencil to keep track of their stats etc which is why it can be hard to find good condition ones as people kept swapping pages & writing inside. Best to talk to your local post office about it and discuss with them what you sell and how to best post it. I just do what works best for my business which is using MyPost business with Australia Post. I buy padded mailers in bulk lots of 1000 at a time to get the best savings and I’m on the highest band level due to the quantity I post. I work on averages in my business (I track it monthly to see if it changes) and my average item to post is currently $9.38.
@backfromburnout8 ай бұрын
Shipping shouldn’t be holding you back. It’s a cost we all must pay. To get more profits find better quality items that sell for higher amounts and increase your sell thru rates. It’s hard to make high profits on low priced selling items. You need to sell volume if you have that business model.

It’s called mini shrink wrap and I buy it at Bunnings in Australia. Do you mean an example of when I get an order of three big bundles of mills and boon of how I ship that as one? I use the large padded mailers for my bundles. I did use a box that day for the 6 x folio books though.
