@@TheGreatDemon666 LOL Honestly that's just common sense, none of which that girl had. I was screaming internally after she ran from her home from the first time she saw Liam and decided to just SIT IN THE DRIVEWAY IN HER CAR calling her grandfather for help. Where Liam Knew where she was and could have heard that ENTIRE conversation and maybe I was imagining things but I -swear- I heard the car door close after she got off the phone with her granddad and drove away so I was like, "oh so he just got into the backseat..?" But yeah that list of dealing with potential threats? I Would much rather see a game where you could actually DO those things and then deal with the criminal if he manages to get in, dodge any traps, and whatnot. But no our protag was insultingly stupid. Also I'd go to a hotel after seeing those creepy things in my grandfather's house XD

@@mikaneko My only response to whenever she did something stupid was to slam my head into my desk while saying *”How do you have a lower IQ than Ethan in RE7 & 8? The decision making process in your brain is equivalent to that of a toddler’s who immediately goes to call family members whenever they get a severe booboo instead of calling the cops. But noooooooo. Your first thought is to call your gramps when you just had angry ex throw rock through your window, break in and immediately proceed to chase you.”* I was hoping that he was gonna get an ending that resulted in her dying so I could say “Told you so.” Side note; My nicknames for Ethan are “goldfish” and “squirrel” just due to how dumb he is. After thinking about it some more, in the secret room with the hatch after breaking the light in that room, I’d be tempted to place a bunch of bear traps and coat the floor in an incredibly sticky substance so the intruder(s) would get stuck to the floor in the room and hopefully end up in a lot of distress when they lose a hand/arm/foot to a bear trap, and then have their other limbs get stuck while trying to flee.

@ArtistLunatalia Yeah, I thought about it afterwards, and red herring isn't entirely accurate. He's definitely still a threat, since he was obviously also following her. And his car is parked right outside the grandpa's house - so if he hadn't been killed, he probably would have tried something. Poor girl was stalked by three people at once, if you include the accomplice (at least he had enough of a conscience to back off I guess). 2:14 Just pointing out that if the roles are reversed, you ABSOLUTELY should call the police still. If there’s reason to believe that your life is in danger you need to report it and make sure there is record that you’re being stalked. Gender don’t mean anything if someone has the desire to cause serious harm to you that threatens your life Also… 6:14 Cops still don’t do anything a lot of the time even after a crime was committed. Police are notorious for never taking women seriously even in cases like this. At best, they would just log what happened as vandalism and give him the equivalent of a slap on the wrist unless you have undeniable proof that the ex broke in after the rock was tossed through the window. At worst, they do absolutely nothing and would assume that the woman was “hysterical”. So for some women, not calling the police and temporarily avoiding the gaslighting and endless bureaucracy, especially when it can take days at a time at best before something is done, is not an uncommon move. (Also not to mention, a lot of women are rightfully afraid of being MURDERED if they report their stalker and no charges stick)
@madisonwillis95916 ай бұрын
All of this is sad but true. Restraining orders don't really do much, they aren't enforced or taken seriously, and I've yet to see a cop act BEFORE serious harm or death occurs from one of these incidents despite a LOOOOOOONG paper trail.
@LegioXXI5 ай бұрын
"Police are notorious for never taking women seriously even in cases like this" First you say gender dosen't matter, then you say this. The problem with stalking cases its that its hard to prove and even more harder to prevent long term, as long as no violent crime occurred yet. The only other solution would be to put people for 10+ years in jail for stuff like throwing a rock to a window, which would cause a lot of unnecessary hard punishments in lesser severe crimes. And if you want to bring up gender at all: Male victims of stalking are usually the ones who are not being taken seriously, even if violence already occurred. Cases of molesting or SA with male victims and female culprits are even less likely to be taken seriously, even if the victim is a minor (!). It's a huge double standard, and it exists almost globally. This is also why it's hard to tell how often this even happens, because many male victims never even bother to go to the police out of fear being mocked by the whole society.
@Marrow295 ай бұрын
@@LegioXXI You are correct that men aren’t taken seriously in these cases at all as well and often have a lot of the crimes go unsaid for fear of society viewing them as weak due to aspects of toxic masculinity and misogyny. For that whole: “you’re a dude, how’d you allow yourself to get beat up by a girl?” I’m not refuting that that also exists and that it’s a serious issue. BUT, I only brought up the police not believing women because that point was relevant for why the beginning of the game’s plot begins the way that it does. I said that gender doesn’t matter when it’s the person wanting to inflict fear or violence onto a victim as a rebuke to Insym’s statement at the timestamp above because anybody is capable of violence. And society conditions people, especially men, to not report violence being inflicted onto them in the opposite case of this game. Because, my point was that the police are more or less useless in cases of preventing violence in spite of a long paper trail against the perp. Both statements that I made in my OC are not a contradiction or some double standard and can reflect the problems in our world’s legal system because it’s a patriarchal and hegemonic system that is hurting us all regardless of gender. (Because whether some people like hearing it or not, this system is built as intended, and both men and women being hurt is not a bug; it’s a feature.)

29:55 I used to work in an escape room and we had one of those. The mechanism was fairly simple, the book was link to a rope. When you pulled the book it would pull the rope allowing the lock to be raise. The trick part was that we had to bound the books to the shelf in some way so that people wouldn't pull until it's destroyed haha The thing that I liked the most was a puzzle where people had to make a human chain with 2 copper object. The energy would then be allowed to pass since human can conduct and it would open a box that couldn't be moved. We made sure that it could be reached by only two small people but not by a single long arms person haha
@TaylerJDust6 ай бұрын
I'm not an engineer, but couldn't you have the book be slightly longer than the rest, and have it block some infrared light sensor that, when you pull the book out, is no longer blocked, allowing the sensor to register a "pull", opening the door?

The problem with an authentic horror game experience in real life, is that you need consent from the person entering the house, or it can be regarded as false imprisonment and/or psychological abuse, It's an interesting idea but it simply cannot happen without breaking a whole bunch of laws. and having consent immidiately defeats the purpose of making the person think they are actually in a horror scenario. You could maybe trick someone into signing a consent form without them realising it, but i doubt this is legal either :P
