There is a 4000D airflow with airflow optimised front panel. The glass front is the more expensive 4000X. Getting the glass panel is a concius choice. No one is forced to get it

I had the same kinds of issues with the Corsair LL fans. Sucks that they are still having the same issues. I came to the same conclusion that they're way too expensive to be having those issues. I was trying to decide between the Corsair LX, QX, Lian Li Uni and ThermalTake SWA fans for a new build and I think you just made my decision a little easier... narrowing it down to two options.

But corsair qx fans come with 5 years of warranty so any issues can make a warranty claim

@@LordLucifer95 And? I don't care that they have a warranty. So did my LL fans. The issue is that when you pay over $100 for each 3-pack of fans, this shouldn't be an issue. I get isolated incidents, but I had issues with two different kits when I built the system and I had to return them. Then, not even two years later, two fans, each from separate kits were having issues again. Got them replaced under warranty and sold them off. To see Kyle having similar issues with the QX fans just tells me to stay away. That's not even getting in to the fact that I hate iCUE. So, I don't care that they have a warranty. While the new QX fans might be less of a PITA to take out and replace compared to the older LL fans... I don't want the hassle and it seems to be more common than it should be for such an expensive product.

@@LordLucifer95 Hmm... that's unfortunate. I'll have to look into the Lian Li fans before I make a decision. We definitely need a standard that everyone uses rather than all this proprietary BS. And there's no reason we can't have a daisy chaining industry standard as well. Still, we shouldn't be having all these damn LED problems. I've been using nine Corsair ML series white LED fans for quite some time now in my main build and not a single issue in over five years. I might just have to forget the RGB all together. Too much of a damn hassle.

Kyle, recently picked up self hosting and building servers. I think youre due for a NAS, whether you buy one off the shelf or build your own and put something like truenas/unraid on it. I think it would be a good video content wise and you'd get to knock out a hole in your backup plan. Food for thought! At the least, you might benefit from bulk cloud storage on something like backblaze or whoever for cloud hosted off site backups (recommend encrypting first before sending them off). Love the build!

With my hubs and card I think I have around 25 USB ports on my main PC, I could probably ditch at least one hub if I had one of those I love the lack of RGB, the only problem is you can't really see how awesome the inside looks. I hate to say it but maybe an LED strip on a yellow-ish color might make it pop? Either way, super sick

I had some LL120s on my intake side that did the same glitching with the leds. turned out that the PSU was bad, giving bad power to the corsair node. I ignored it until the GPU started to fail and after I replaced the PSU (got a very nice deal on ROG Strix 1000W) the lightning problem on my corsair fans went away. If you're running HWInfo, disable monitoring of the Corsair Commander. That causes flickering when you have iCUE running as well.

Thanks for giving me visual evidence, that having a window side panel on a PC case isn't just for RGB vomit, but to see actually stylish insides. RGB is cool when done with a theme in mind. I personally don't see the point point with lights inside a case, but with an interior like this, a few dim lights could make it look like an old timey study.

My Corsair fans did the exact same thing as that - just flickering all the time. Trying to get a replacement from Corsair took around 4 months and alot of yelling. Then the replacements all the blue LED's blew on them. Never doing RGB again so annoying.

The 7950x3d is a 120W TPD with an AIO, and those temps are terrible. The 9950X is a 170W TDP cooled with a $50 air cooler. This is the biggest reason I avoid AIOs. More expensive and usually give little to no improvement. Nice looking PC.

I don't know if they do it anymore but back when i bought my 4000 rgb version case from corsair i was able to get a airflow version front panel off their website for i think it was 5 or 10 bucks...super cheap. It actually saved me money because i got the fans with the case on sale, and the airflow panel i wanted to replace the glass one.

I have the same Asus X870E-Creator wifi board. Upgraded from the 3900X. Was thinking about the 4080 Super Pro Art but waiting for the new Gen GPU and also the 9950X3D. Having 192GB Corsair 5200MHz because it was dirt cheap (420 euro total) Lian-Li edge 1300W PSU Alphacool Eisbaer Pro Aurora 420 AiO water cooling 1x 4TB Lexar NM790 (Another 2x coming in January) Will add my old HDD's 1x 20TB Seagate Exos 20 and older 8TB archive HDD's. Maybe in the future will start a Tech KZbin channel with my own reviews

Stopped using Corsair stuff a while back as I noticed the quality dropped off horribly. Their LL series fans were crap and the new 160 dollar 3 pack looks to be the same, flickering, 1 fan no lights just a mess. Asia horse and EZDYI fans are 1/5th the cost, look just as good and last for years with no issues in their lighting or bearings, plus you get a cheap remote if you don't like the MB offerings. Corsair cases remain good and the front bezzel for the airflow choice is available by itself so no need to buy a whole new case. Be quiet! is my favorite now as their designs are more modern in terms of design. Their lightwings fans are also really nice with no 3 months after purchase defects like Corsair fans, and 1/3 the price. Great video Kyle! Really good look to the case with no over the top lights glaring back.

One of the channels on my Commander XT went bad a few years ago. I swapped everything to normal, non-proprietary RGB stuff in my main PC system and haven't looked back. Corsair makes good power supplies, but outside of that I'm not a fan

I have 10 of those very expensive QX120's in my rig and had one on my AIO start making noise and just stopped, I spun it by hand and it started going again but makes noise from time to time so the 50 dollar fan is not even a year old yet and going to go out at any time. Now Corsair says to get the improved LX120's

lol, i saved money big time on my 4000D it wasn't the high flow front, just the metal panel... i just logged into the Corsair webstore and bought a high flow front.. big change from the metal panel from the original but that is an option for those that don't want to buy an entire new case.
