I just got to watching videos now, early am. My son-in-law and I are marrying a utility trailer frame and my boat trailer to make a removable platform for hauling 4X8 sheets of paneling and styrofoam insulation from the local building center home for our projects in the houses. As I sold my classic 78 C10, we have to rely on my HHR with a class 1 hitch to run for building supplies. It was a LONG day today designing and reinforcing the trailer parts to play well together. Wayne, I'll bring images when I see you so you can have a good laugh at what we've done. 😆 As I want to keep the boat trailer intact for use with the vintage 12 foot aluminum boat, we decided to make the utility trailer frame easily removable. It's quite the project. I really liked your rigging explanation, and watching you drop that sassafras tree. I can't wait to see the pole barn progress in the next few weeks to see what it will be when I get there. On another note, does your Kioti have a hook on the bucket for lifting? I'm bringing a toy for you that could utilize that hook and make moving things around a bit easier than chaining them to the back of your 4 wheeler (like you did with the power pole). Also, I was worried that the 2 man saw I'm bringing wouldn't fit flat in the HHR, but I test loaded it today and I was worried for nothing. It *just* fits. I'm going to put some split wire loom over the teeth of the saw to protect me and the car. It's sharp and could saw logs right now. See you soon, love you both! Peace.

Good evening Wayne, that rigging worked great. It looks like it wouldn't take much time to set up, but add a lot of safety to a lot of situations when considering how just felling a tree could go south on you. Great job, THANK YOU, Terry

Right on, brother. I have some more rigging demos on the back burner. Again, thank you for all of your suggestions. Keep them coming!

Nice job, Wayne! Two things happen with a plan: 1) steps are created, pitfalls identified and alleviated, things work 2) it gives you something definite to deviate from. Was a fun watch. I have to admit one thing. The whole time, while looking at the stump, all I could think of was cereal bowls, bud vases, plates. I have heard that sassafras is fun to turn and has a gentle grain. And I just knew that length of bowl, vase, and plate producing would end up on a burn or firwood pile. I'll get over it. I'm impressed with your rigging and felling abilities!!

Well, Mike, I could arrange shipping a bunch of Sassafras to you. I don't burn it on purpose because it burns too fast. I really like the smell of the wood. I have made some simple jewelry boxes from sassafras cross-sections and have found that it doesn't crack or check while drying, unlike cherry and maple. So if you want some, let me know.
@mikemadsen2110Ай бұрын
@@WaynePolcin I appreciate the offer of shipping me some sassafras, but the cost (weight and size) would be prohibitive. I have a stack of maple I brought back from Minnesota last month that I have to work through anyway. Make a campfire our of your sassafras and enjoy the smell as you make s'mores!! Thanks anyway.

Well you forgot to yell; "TIMBER!!" Ha ha Just kidding! Didn't see any tree felling no nos I would've said DON'T. Lol

Eddie, it’s great to hear from you my friend! It was an easy one to cut. What made it tricky was the threat of electrocution 🤯😳. I hope all is well with you and your family!

Great job 😊 Don't let people cut you down on subjects you have knowledge about. People who find fault in others are having problems with their own faults. You're a person who loves to teach.....you would have been a great teacher. Smart people learn from experience and seek knowledge about the things they are not sure of. 😊😊

I don't let them cut me down, I just want to let them know that if they can't say something constructive, they're just wasting their time in the comments because I will just delete them. Thankl you, Tami, for always being a great encourager to me. That means a lot!

Another plan executed to completion. Don’t have to be an expert on every task, if it gets done and done safely it is a win. And if you learn a better way you can apply towards the next project even better.

Yeah, wait until you see what I did today. It was a comedy of errors, haha! Thanks, John!

Great job of putting that tree exactly where you wanted it to fall
@WaynePolcinАй бұрын
Thanks Mike. It wasn’t a big tree, but I didn’t want anything to do with those HVAC wires. Stay safe and kind my friend!

Hey Wango! How’s the knee doing? Mine is giving me trouble. Doc said it could take two years to totally heal, but it seems like it’s growing backwards.
@wayne-wango-wever8393Ай бұрын
@@WaynePolcin Th e knee is doing good. I have some swelling and range of motion backwards is limited but manageable. There is no more pain when I walk and the limp is gone. I was told there would be waves of improvement and decline through the healing process but is much better than before surgery. Hope yours gets better. Sorry to hear about Glen, say High to Suzie for us and blessings to all.
