"I feel like I'm burnt out just for existing." As a fellow autistic person currently in undergrad, holy god do I feel this quote so powerfully. Disability is no joke. Thanks for being so candid despite the stigma around all this. We're with you for whatever you need, so prioritize your health and happiness. You're awesome

Man, you're point about visceral reactions to being misunderstood is *so* real. To me I've always rationalized it as being related to how I was misunderstood or ignored as a child because of my autism: since I expressed my emotions differently (not less!) than the people around me, I get super defensive and/or hurt when people misunderstand me now, even when it's benign. But I definitely feel that need to be constantly explaining yourself and making sure no one can ever misunderstand what you mean, or why you did what you did, etc.

I've also had to learn that no matter what you do on here, people will complain about something so I felt that. I'm proud of you for sticking to editing the way you want and doing what makes you happy, you're literally an icon! Sarah, I relate to a lot of the mental health stuff you were talking about. I have ADHD, bad anxiety, and depression, but I try to take care of myself at the same time and switch up my activities. My video games, anime, manga, art, music, and exercise keep me happy for the most part. Also your content makes me happy I can relate to you. Love your channel forever.

I actually had no idea that I needed a video like this. For years, yearly I would always suffer burn out around October where I'm ready to quit my job, hate everything, have zero motivation to do anything and even my hobbies that would relax me would stress me. Since 2022 though, the burn out was coming much earlier and this year, I got the burn out in March.... 3 months into the new year and I was already ready to throw in the towel. I was so upset. I never related so much about wanting a clean space but being a naturally messy person. I would clean my Games Room every weekend, but come Monday it is so messy and I had no idea why. In reality, it's because of me. Feel like it reflects my mind where I want clear space but it's always muddled and messy. Thank you for sharing your experience and what has helped you. I think I really need to start working on my nutrition again. Exercise has done wonders for me! I started Cross Fit at the end of April and the reason I keep going at it is not because "I want to be fit" but because it makes me happy.

I also understand where you are coming from regarding Gacha games. I feel this with any Free to play and/or mobile game. Where they are consistently trying to grab your attention. It's the reason why I love FF XIV so much because I can pick up and play whenever I want and I don't feel obligated to play it every single day. When I use to play WoW the feeling was very different and I felt like my life was dedicated to that one game.

It's not something that would be expected of you, which makes it all the more special and likely very helpful for many people. As a people pleaser myself, my biggest fear is being misunderstood, because I try so hard to be a positive force to an unhealthy degree, so I resonated with that sentiment especially. Thanks also for sharing things you've been working on and what has helped and how it's helped, it's all really awesome information to share! 😊 I hope you can continue with these endeavors and keep some space open for non-work activities & relaxation time!

There are parts of this I high key relate to and of course there are parts of it that I don't because they are unique to you, but I think hearing other people talk about their struggles and their successes always makes us feel less alone. Unrelated: I've been playing through Xenogears for the first time (just started Disc 2) and holy dang, that game is a TRIP. as an autistic person I feel like I understand you sooooo well when it comes to having a visceral negative reaction to being misunderstood. it has made me very careful about how I speak to people. normally I am very chatty and I know it can get on people's nerves even when I try to keep it restrained but I find myself just overexplaining everything. I just give up sometimes when someone isn't listening or im not adequately describing something or if I get too emotional I just can't talk I literally freeze and just stare at them... its tough. I want to be in control of other people's perception of me and I have to relax that. some times we just cannot control what other people see. yummy matcha I just bought a matcha bowl and the little stick thing and frothing brush. and if you're interested in reading another manga after FMA I highly recommend hunterxhunter. I know a million people have already screamed at you about it. both are peak

Personally I have been suspecting I am neurodivergent because I have so many sensory issues and also get very obsessed with things that are my special interests (among other things). I really appreciate creators sharing their experiences because it makes me feel less alone in how I feel and less "outsider" if that makes sense. I'm also a messy person that hates messes so it drives me crazy! A cluttered room clutters my brain so much! I also lost my Lola recently and I can only imagine how hard it must've been to lose a loved family member so I hope you've been extra kind to yourself! I've been enjoying your KH1 playthrough videos in the background when I do work whether it's (trying to) clean my room or work on cosplay hobby stuff. It's really easy on my brain and feels uplifting. Thank you for your open honesty Sarah ❤

First off, thank you so much for sharing what you're going through, and while I was wondering particularly about FF7 Rebirth updates (I was more than glad to see you playing my GOTY pick), I'm glad you're taking time to better understand yourself and reach a good place mentally. That said, I'm also glad that you shared because as an adult who's been told by people on the spectrum that I absolutely show traits (hyperfixation, problems with social cues, not sure about sensory issues tho), hearing that your struggle with general life burnout is related to your diagnosis has me thinking I should get tested. I was tested as a kid and found not to be on the spectrum then, but also, our understanding of what constitutes autism and the ability to diagnose it is so much better than 20 years ago. Again, thank you for your bravery in sharing ❤

As someone who's also autistic, this is very validating to hear since i'm not alone with this, "I feel like I'm burnt out just for existing." that quote hits for me! I too am naturally messy and don't like mess either, i feel burnt out with either tidying or cleaning the dishes, this is also combined with me going out every day. I don't think keeping your health in check is silly at all. Being a people pleaser is quite a draining process, I would know since it drained me completely when i was doing my Christmas shopping last year and I ended up feel guilty and unsatisfied like i always HAVE to find the presents for everyone. i'm trying my best break out of the habit is incredibly difficult, which is something i'm still working today. i've said it once and I'll say it again, Your edits have been very helpful for me to keep up with your content, Although I really love watching it live as well I don't mind at all watching the VOD as well since I help out with VOD highlighting, the more busier I Get IRL, the harder it is for me to keep up, so I couldn't be upset with you with your style of working. All of what you said is exceptionally Validating to hear cause it I no longer feel like i'm alone with these struggles, so belive me when say these words, PLEASE PRIORITISE YOUR WELLBEING FIRST! You're doing and outstanding job not just as a content creator, but as a Person as well! You're very brave to share this with us, Thank you for sharing and I hope this helps you in the long run!

Love the hyperfixation in FMA, it's simply amazing and i can't wait to see you playing the game! So this may be long (I’m actually typing while the video is going but I want to say something right away) 3 minutes in I’m relating a lot and I do want to just look at this real quick. It’s completely okay to be burnout it’s completely okay to have these bad days but you as strong as you are make it to a better day AND other people’s day. The working out for example! With this year coming to an end I hope you are having a good year, but I know that next year will be even better. You may get knocked down but the best part of you is that you get down but you don’t stay down and that’s how strong you are. Having a day, ever, where you feel like you react to people ever-so-slightly more stern or harshly than usual, and you feel like an awful person after, and it helps to add to the burnout. Just wanna let people out there know it's okay. Tell those people you acted harsh to that you're sorry. They'll usually say it's fine, and they want you to tell them what's going on/what's wrong. It's okay. Don't be embarrassed. They just care about you. Take care.

Gacha games can have some of the best music, characters, and story moments out there...but they can be such time vampires if you try to keep up with more than one of them at a time. Like a lot of other folks, Genshin was my first proper gacha game, but before that I used to play all sorts of games from DMC to Kingdom Hearts and almost anything everything else you could think of, and now it feels like I play nothing but gacha games even though I do still have a backlog of regular games I want to play. This is all to say that despite gacha games having their moments, I still think having the strength to tear yourself away from logging into a gacha game every day is something to celebrated, and it's something I'm working on doing more of myself as well. It feels so liberating once you realise you no longer have to clean out the new content every month to avoid FOMO. It feels great when I'm able to just enjoy a single player game at my own place again just like old times, without worrying about missing out on rewards or saving to guarantee new characters.

Honestly bro do what you find more compelling and comfortable for you both personally and in content creation. Doing compilation or playthroughs in KZbin is hard enough as it is because you’re fighting the algorithm boss, even very big streamers with a niche suffer from that. In the end you cultivated your audience and I’m sure most will adapt and while some might not be happy, others will be it old or new fans. Finally exercise comes in all forms so maybe you haven’t found what is right for you besides walking which is great on its own. Hope you keep feeling better and I’m sorry for your loss.

I found your channel for the first time when I played Persona 4 and wanted to see some reactions. Occasionally I pop up to see if you posted a game Im interested in seeing or dont care about spoilers because I enjoy your style a lot, and listening to you talk about these things made me want to maybe try a go at creating content as well. I also cant handle being misunderstood and take negative comments to heart way too much, so I never really tried creating anything. Even at times, I find myself being mad and just wish that I don't have a disability and be a normal person. All in all, I understand what you are going through, and even if it doesn't sound like it based on how often I go to your streams these days, I am still showing you my support during these tough times :)

So hard to lose a grandparent. 💔 Also people-pleasing. Having to accept that you can’t make everyone happy, and that’s fine. I need to work on that too. That said, having the vod channel is a nice alternative! I like your edited videos though. Wishing you the best! 💕

The reason we watch your videos is not because you are the best at playing games like Genshin impact but because of YOU! We like watching you play these games because of your awesome personality and way of producing content!

Good video, I wish you success and I'll tell you about my experience, I had been in a deep depression for two years in a row, I started doing therapy (it helps a lot), practicing piano and chess as a hobby, and exercising, it was enough for me to continue dealing with my depression and I'm currently very happy with my achievements, we are in the biggest era with cases of depression or burnout in history, and technology, our screens, has a very big factor in this, growing up surrounded by screens for long periods, especially since childhood, has serious consequences in the future, another thing that has always helped me a lot with games, was the way I see video games, there's nothing wrong with those who see video games just as fun, but this can cause the person to quickly lose interest in games, in the case of having several games in your collection, you go anxiously looking for something to play, and lose interest in 2 seconds, as for me, as a very emotional person, I've always looked for depth in everything, and in the case of games it's knowing how to value them, we quickly lose interest in something that is just a pastime for us, but When we give value, it is eternal, whether you seek value in music, characters, history, art and other things, allowing yourself to connect with the characters and understand their motivations and things like that makes you give value to what you are playing and completely changes your view on how you play, I never think of games as programmed products, I play them as if I were exploring a book, I followed your journey in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth but I had stopped watching the channel when you stopped, this notification was a surprise, I wish you all the best in this world

Hey Sarah I wanted share a few tips that I hope will improve the way you feel about working out: first you dont need many "sessions" per week so you can excersise 2 to 3 days a week for 30 to 45 minutes and its still gonna be great because you have less "risk" of burning out and over train another thing that helped me is that there are a lot of "types" of exercises (like weight lifting; crossfit; calisthenics etc) so maybe you could try them and see what you like more and also set some goals to achieve like walk a mile or do x amount of pushups to keep you motivated to reach them. Another "thing" I suggest you to try is yoga or if you dont like being in a class try meditating many people who are under pressure meditate and they say it helps them a lot And also I wanted to thank you for all the amazing content you post it always makes me feel better (especially your Kingdom Hearts 1 playthrough recently) I feel like you're one of the most genuine content creators on both KZbin and Twitch Also sorry for the long message but I wanted to try my best share some of my experiences and what I think could help you ☺️ I hope you have a great time

As someone in a relatively similar boat (also diagnosed with autism four years ago and mom died a year later), I can definitely say that 1) the best thing you can do is to keep being open about it and 2) feeling defensive about your stuff is DEFINITELY an autistic trait. As for perpetual burnout, while I suffer from it too, I've always found myself associating it more with depression, but that might just be a "me" thing since every case is unique. All I can say is keep doing what you're doing on your terms at your comfort level. Some things I have to keep telling myself as well when it comes to stuff like this is that you are NEVER alone, that there are people here who care about you, and that there will always be whiny people being nitpicky about your stuff, which is never a "you" problem but a "them" problem and they can be told something I've been told almost my entire life whenever it came to my mental health as a kid: to suck it up.

I'm sorry for your loss, and also.. I was also burnt out. Btw you're not just autistic, I'm pretty sure, just like me and almost 50 percent of autistic people there's probably ADHD in the mix. Well I mean, just a feeling. All of that is so relatable. Misunderstandings are so difficult and hurt. Being autistic either makes us unmasked or people pleasers

Hey good to hear from you and I hope things are on the upswing now. I agree that you should be doing things the way you want with your edits and such, but there is always the option of having an unlisted playlist where you put the full game streams to appease both crowds. Finally, and if you need the break first take it, but also if you want another long winded JRPG series to find yourself lost in, Ys is a fantastic one that I think you'd enjoy. I hope yo have yourself a wonderful night and take care.

I've always admired you & your content. I'm sad our interests haven't aligned as much. I grew up with PC & not the franchises you did & now my interests are more akin to that. I got very hype to see you playing To the Moon. I completely forgot it had an autistic character in it & i too had been recently diagnosed around the time that video came out. I really hope you thrive, turn that fomo into jomo !! I wish you all the hearts 🧡💛💚

5:00 5:25 Hiking is always a bit of a challenge. Gotta look for the right spots and the right times to go. Working out is always a great thing for mental health, but everything involved in it, and everyone around that- is ALWAYS different. Find your niche, or find the fun in it, and stick to it, Sarah! This is coming from another autistic, nerdy KH fan. There is nothing easy about losing family. You need to take time for yourself at ANY and ALL POINTS in life- if you feel it’s necessary, then do it.

As part of a coping behavior I go in and out of Beyblade toys. Something about the mix and match of parts works for me. Same with the sound and the differences in movement and the way they interact with each other. It satisfies a part of my mind in a way other activities do not.
