For long term hold it for atleast 1.5 years. Dont bulk buy each stocks (10 stocks) do split investing on each stock, when the price goes down, and invest like say if you are investing 1 lakh in HDFC AMC, start with 10k and see how the market is moving and then if it goes down, add like 10k, if it goes up then wait till it goes below to your current purchased price, and if in sideways wait till it breaks the support level and then decide further. If a stock is in sideways for more than 3 months, then look up for other good stocks that has opportunities to buy in discounted price (30 or 40%). Analyze the graph is trading view website also for more profits you need to think of buy and hold stocks for long term like 1.5 years.

Impressive video. I started a bit late (graduated from my doctorate program at age 30 in 2016 with 170k in school loan debt). Managed to pay off my debt by 2019 and currently have a house and 250k total in investments (combo of profit share, 401k and a brokerage account). I'm not very knowledgeable in investing, so I just have my investing currently in index funds mainly voo, but have been putting a lot into schd the past few months. I dunno if that's the optimal strategy, but psychologically it is very set it and forget it, and prevents me from obsessing over individual stock performance.

If I had a penny for everytime I heard someone give ' buy low sell high' advice, I would be a multi-millionaire by now. Who can ever tell u what is low and what is high. Everything I bought thinking it was low fell a lot more and everything I sold thinking it was high rose a lot more and never came back to my sell price. All in all I made returns less than bank FDs for the trouble

I feel when you are working on borrowed conviction, you sell quickly because you are not confident to hold and think it might fall, and will lose money. Do your own research based on the suggestions given by Akshat, check the screener, and read about the company. You have to be thoroughly convinced that it will grow, only then invest.

Yeah, financial advisors could make a lot of difference, particularly in a market such as this. Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look. I have been using an FA since 2019, and I return at least $121k ROI, and this does not include capital
