@@tarsan894 for you personally, yes PS2 must’ve been the best, or best times are where we start off or when we’re children. But for all genuine PS3 users(especially first timers) it was amazing. And it formed the PlayStation we know today, it allowed PlayStation to be so much more than what it could have(with PC tech for gaming starting to take off), it attracted a much larger audience in the PS4 generation. It kept Sony on their toes, and helped them make better decisions about executives and partnerships.

It wasn't. Many, many, many 30fps games in 544p (instead of FullHD, 1080p) and the framerate was all over the place. Best gen was the PS2 era imo.

No, best generation was PS2 era. Every game was complete with some being bad; though rest was from decent to amazing. PS3 era was amazing to play 1st Party Exclusives, explore PSN Digital Store, backwards compatible ( Full PS1 / soso PS2 ), Region Free . However, PS3 was terrible for its archaic party chat system, its 2011 Hack, as well as Sony hiding the fact every digital download purchase on PS3 is licensed to a timeframe linked to your CMOS battery. CMOS battery issue exploded in price hike 2020 & 2021 COVID on both physical PS1 Games & PS3 Games because of dumb Jim Ryan, stating no one plays PS3 or old stuff...

There was something about that generation of consoles, all of them looked so sleek. Even those original Xbox 360s looked gorgeous with the curves, though they did have to hide some of the internals in that power brick. That said, I think this latest crop looks pretty cool, say what you will about the PS5 but I love the Spacey aesthetic, and the monolithic look of the Series X is certainly cool too.

If no one's mentioned it yet, you can return the "beige" controller to its original white by placing the shells into a container & covering with hydrogen peroxide. Once that's done, place the container under a UV light (led will work just make sure they're full spectrum) for 48 to 72 hours. It'll be as white as it was when it first came out.

7:10 That one was previously a white sixaxis as well, they came in White Silver, and Black (obviously). If you open that controller up you should still be able to see the original white colour inside since it never got any UV damage from the sunlight. Also the reason it looks broken is likely from the battery beginning to swell up and push the shell apart, almost the exact same thing happened to mine.

You can never buy to many consoles😊. I have been collecting gaming consoles sense 1972 when the first gaming console was every launched the Magnavox Odyssey. Sense than I have bought every home & handheld gaming unit to be launched in the US and every version & mid gen upgrades if one was made for that console, with the exception of the NintendoStation. I still have all the boxes and everything that has come with them. What I found is that throughout all the console I have and how much they have been used between my 3 kids, wife and myself. The only console I have ever had to repair was the XB360 and the XB1. I always buy day 1 consoles. I should wait a year before ever buying a MS product cause they seem to be made with crappy components and MS just dont care about their fans. Edit: 11:07 Its not unnecessary its a passion of yours, like me collecting every gaming console and every version or mid gen upgrade known to man (US versions only).

I recently purchased a 60gb Fat PS3 (launch model) from eBay and luckily enough the seller took good care of it that when it boots up it ends up being quite for a few min. After 10 min the fan kicks in slightly but not much in which I use the PS3 for light gaming and watching KZbin for a few hours. I love the noise it makes when you insert and eject a disc since it’s a front loading insert. Now I see where the PS5 comes from in terms of incorporating similar aspects from the Fat PS3 to the PS5 such as the disc insert, the gloss finish, and the thickness too. The Fat PS3 has a timeless look that never gets old. I even think it looks better than the PS5 which is crazy! I think Sony should use chrome again on their consoles to give it that extra premium look. Take care of y’all Fat PS3s y’all. 👍🏽

I want a CECHA01 so bad. The one I had at launch was kept so pristine. But I did the dumbest thing. I had it set up on a desk connected to a nice monitor and it was close to a window. It pumped out so much heat that sometimes in the winter I'd crack the window open. The constant freezing cold and warm variations guaranteed my YLOD via warping. I've wanted a new one ever since.

I just bought my 2nd PS3 got the CECHE01 80gb model using it only to play PS2 games my other slim PS3 is for only playing PS3 games. Still have my PS4 Pro setup for games that aren’t PS5 enhanced (don’t wanna waste any SSD space) and I have the PS5 from Launch day! (Only console I ever got at launch as I wasn’t old enough before to have enough money to buy a console at launch) all are hooked up to my Samsung 8k tv. Also I do have my Fat PS1 and fat PS2 aswell still but those are put away now (my 8k tv only has hdmi ports) but I do find it amazing that I could play all 5 generations of PlayStation games on just the 2 consoles if I wanted to! I also have a black PSVITA with the OLED screen and a white PSP with Darth Vader on the back, also these are not setup but I do have the Fat PS4 that I got for Christmas in 2014 and the PSVR! It literally does everything especially when you have custom firmware on it and it still looks and feels next-gen we don't get hardware like this anymore and we never will. I find it cool that the ps3 (Ignoring the Cell) shares a lot more similarities to computers when compared to other consoles. It had a bunch of card readers, the browser had a bunch of options like printing and the system itself starts up like a pc with the fan revving on startup and then going to idle.

The white controller may have tinted from whatever Sony uses to make them. I have the Spider-Man PS4 controller with white thumb sticks and just having it sit in a cabinet for months produces residue and a yellow tint to the thumb sticks. It’s odd

Take the “white” control apart, and put the discolored pieces in a clear plastic bin. You can then wrap the plastic bin with uv lighting strips. Cover the whole thing with tin foil and leave it for 24+ hours. The control will go back to its original color. Wash the pieces with soap and water beforehand.
