Thats great about the tint law you're working on Clayton! You had everything right except the order. It goes to the House first and they vote on it and if it passes then it goes to the Senate for a vote. Great to see you actually doing something positive for the car community!!

Actually, in Utah, it can go either way. Both the House and the Senate have the ability to start a bill. Hence the terms House Bill and Senate Bill.

25 years of law enforcement advise out of Florida. Do not advance on the law for window tint based on looking cool for Utah. Go forward with the approach that the window tint is a protective item against skin cancer. You have very high skin cancer rates in Utah. That should be your approach. It is a health and safety issue more than a cool look accessory for cars. We come to Utah to visit and can't believe Utah has such tough restrictions on window tint in a state with super high skin cancer rates.

Window tint laws are dumb. I live in Wisconsin and we have some dumb laws but they don't really enforce them but it does give them a reason to stop you around bar closing time

Hey you two! Long Time, Good time, Great time with SL! But, Here in NY, as of Jan 2017, You are not allowed to have ANY window tint, meaning 100% light has to pass through the front driver/pass windows on a passenger vehicle, or else it WILL NOT pass state inspection...Trucks and Suv's can have REAR side pass and driver window tint ONLY...but Sedans/Coupes cannot have ANY window tint on any driver, pass, windshield or rear window AT ALL...I got a $350 ticket back in feb of 2017, took my tint off myself and only got the ticket dropped to $150 bc you are supposed to have a 'certified' Auto body shop remove the tint and get an affidavit, from said shop, for ticket court, in order to have the ticket completely dropped...IT'S HORSE SHIT and I glad SOMEONE is doing SOMETHING about it SOMEWHERE! Right on CLAY!

Tint laws are ridiculous, here in North Carolina cars are 35%.. but trucks and SUVs are 35 percent on the front driver and passenger doors, and then there is ZERO limit to the rear doors and back glass.. and they claim "officer safety" is a big reason. So me in my compact car that holds 2 people I can only have 35 percent, but an SUV that could have 7 people in it can literally have the windows tinted so dark you can't see in no matter what? I don't understand it.

So proud of you, I tryed the same thing here in Alberta more than 20yrs ago when we went from no darker than 35% on side front windows or as dark as we wanted as long as diagnal and less than 40% of glass tinted to 0 tint on front sides and windshield. We are still technically not allowed and tint in front of rear windows, including top or bottom eye brows on windshield. Many. Of us still do, but the can In pound vehicles until the pass a safety with tint removed or some officers allow you to remove it at the traffic stop but not always. This is such a huge step in preserving a car enthusiasts right to individualizing their own vehicle. Good on you!

Holy CRAP YOU DID ALL THAT?!! WHOAAAA ,ITS NOT JUST WHAT you know it's WHO YOU KNOW,I support the RPM ACT ,And also in my state of New Hampshire, there's NO TINT allowed of front windows! BUT I unfortunately have a severe sensitivity to bright 🌞 light and was able to secure a Dr's note ,submitted to the DMV and I won, and now after almost 2 years of being in this state,and TINT is a BIG MONEY MAKER! And I was successful and got it passed through the senate,and they are on the verge of changing it to ,35% on front driver and passenger windows 😊😊😁

Dang, 43%. That's rough. Ours is 35% here in Nevada but it's not really enforced. It seems to be more of an addon ticket than a primary offense in my area. I run 20% on all my cars, which I think is a good balance of privacy, safety, and aesthetics. What's good for my neighbor is good for me, so you've got my support. I spend a lot of time in Utah, so it would be nice to be a little closer to legal while I'm up there.

We get 35% here in Kansas for all windows except the windshield which is not allowed to be tinted. That's what I have on my Mustang. You can get darker, which I never understood how if it's illegal. Really though, 50% is plenty dark. Strad questioned that one officer on her tint in her cruiser and she showed him with the same tester that it was legal. Everyone forgets why there is a law. When a cop pulls someone over they need to see what's going on in the car. If the person is going for a gun, dark window tint can conceal that and that puts cops in danger. I always say to people, stop committing crimes so they stop making laws for stuff like window tint.

Advocating a change in the level of window tint allowed by law in Utah is about as apolitical as anything I have heard. It's not like you're trying to overthrow governments or start wars. Given how much Stradman has bitterly complained about Utah's window tint law, I am hoping he follows up in his videos now with some major support for your initiative.

Yeah should change the dark tint law in Utah because if you're an og to the Stradman he got pulled with the dark tint on his Aventador he even told the police look at the other people who has a dark tint what about them.

Here in Missouri our law is 35% with the 5% leeway. Still not dark enough in my opinion but definitely better than your 43%. Awesome job getting out there and putting in the work.
