Good luck with your standby booking. I had one on the Koningsdam last month, which didn't pan out. The good news was that the refund showed up within a week. I think there's an error in your video though where you suggest that the standby program applies to any itinerary, where the HAL website only shows, currently, Alaska and Canada/New England itineraries.

Hi Gerry! When the program first came out, it was for many more departure ports but I just double checked and the whole program appears to have changed. So, for example, now you can be on the Standby List for a Verandah specifically, instead of just being on an Inside and hoping for the best. Way more expensive too, but still a heck of a deal compared to regular price. Also, you're right - just cruises to Alaska and Maritime cruises. No Mexican Riviera or Caribbean. I'm really glad to hear that the refund process is quick - at least some happy news if I'm not going to be cruising next week! Thanks for sharing!
