I think City were quite terrible tbf, under 1 xG and over 3 xG conceded. I don't know if Liverpool have had an easier game this season defensively, City had basically one chance and that was put on a plate for them by a rare van Dijk error. Defensively less said the better really, think Liverpool could have had far more if they'd really gone for it but judging by Slot's comments on how happy he was about when Liverpool pressed the times they sat back and let City play and just tried to counter were clearly by design. It wasn't carnage like the Spurs game of the end of the Feyenoord game but I haven't seen City get properly dominated and look downtrodden like that in years.

There feels like so many things wrong that you can't pin it down specifically. Charges over head, Aging squad, Bad transfer strategy, player burnout. I'm not a City fan but as a neutral, the thing that annoys me is that Foden will not step up and claim his spot as "THE GUY". He needed to cement it after last year, I don't see him ever do his signature half turn anymore, he shirks responsibility. Palmer is what Foden should be, constantly asking and looking to get involved. Dictating play, Foden was meant to step in and replace KDB. Sorry, but Pep doesn't help players thrive. It's a fool proof system when you have the best players but you can see everyone has just discovered how to exploit it and a lot of your players look despondent and unable to adapt against it.

This has been an ongoing thing and still people complain about City not acoring. 🙄. He didnt get the ball to be able to finish one single time. Laughable that you even mention him. What is he going to do when he doesnt get the ball? Score with an imaginary ball? ..or maybe he should pick the ball up at City’s own 16 m and dribble and run past 8-9 players? Pep should of course change things and play more direct (as every team does when they have the chance to take advantage of an unorganized defence), especially when they have been struggling for 7-8 games now……but he refuse to do it….Most of the blame should be on him for that. When he doesnt even try to change it, you cant blame the players.

brutha, why isn’t it “Ake held Salah in his pocket” why isn’t it “Nunes and Doku reopened up TAA defensive scars” why isn’t it “Diaz couldn’t get past Walker.” Why isn’t it “Dias at the back was immense” ?? Why isn’t it “Haaland’s ability to drop back to pass was great” ?? I know we lost but surely you don’t walk away from that game thinking we were horrendous. The only players I’m dissatisfied with are Foden and Akanji. I think Foden needs to play a matured role, and contribute to the defense- I would seriously consider dropping him in favor of O’Reilly. Because in attack they’ll both create the same amount of opportunities but at least Nico defends. And Akanji bro… i just really think that Gvardiol in that position next to Dias would’ve been cooler to see, especially with those long bursting runs into the middle. Gvardiol at LCB next to Dias is what i think would work best.

The players are incapable of delivering a decent or even acceptable performance-one defeat after another, a draw, and then yet another loss, without a single goal scored. After every match, Pep justifies it by saying, "These things happen in football." But for heaven’s sake, why do you let it happen? If you can't master attacking play, why not focus on a solid defensive system? Why are we witnessing such disarray in the club? There are clubs that have maintained a winning streak for years, while this club doesn’t fight. It simply repeats, "These things happen in football," yet takes no steps to resolve them. I've had enough. I watch my team because it’s my source of happiness, but in return, it loses and refuses to fight.
