Ughhh Pete is too pure for this family but I think he's literally what Natalie needs the most. And his actor had to put SO much into that small performance. Keeping the fact that he saw Donna, that his good natured self, that the Berzatto family ridicules so much, is what ultimately leads him to give Donna permission to leave AND out that they are expecting. Being legitimately proud of his wife and literally everyone who he just wants to like him, not wanting to ruin her night but also trying to give Donna an out from Natalie being upset at her. Dude killed it I hope Pete gets more to do in season 3 and more people start to like him cuz I love him so dang much. Best Side character hands down and Richie has easily become my favorite main character

It's such a tight illustration of Richie's strengths. So much chaos in that episode: his wife was sick, all the Uncle Lee/Michael drama, the Donna drama even before she drove a car through the wall, but years later Richie still remembers this little anecdote because he could tell how much it meant to Uncle Jimmy. His people are important to him, and he's always had that. His time staging in Forks just unlocked a way for him to express it

He also offered Natalie a Sprite before everyone found out she was pregnant. Remember, Sprite helped his wife when she was pregnant. Carmen made one for Tiff, and Richie brought it to her. It was always in Richie.

My fav character post season 2 is easily Ritchie. The way they wrote his character arc was so perfect and so human, “what’s my purpose?” he asked Carmy in the first episode of S2, then worked at the Michelin 3 Star restaurant, and comes to Carmy afterwords and says, “I understand.” Begins wearing a suit bc it’s his “armor,” and begins to take his role in the new restaurant seriously. And once he got on expo and ran that shit me and my brothers literally started cheering like it was a football game. “Drive.” HE FUCKING KILLED THAT SHIT. And of course the ending w him screaming “I fucking love you” to Carmy was so vulnerable and so real man.

Let's not be too hard on Carmy. He's like 30 years old and he's NEVER had a girlfriend. He's so shut down emotionally he can only do one thing, put every bit of himself into his craft. He doesn't have a clue who he is outside of his job. He isn't really ready for a serious relationship, but that he was able to allow someone to get close and open up as much as he has, that is huge progress for him. This didn't work out right now but it isn't a failure. I feel terrible for Claire though, she's madly in love with a person who doesn't love himself enough to allow himself to be loved. He thinks he doesn't deserve it, but more than that, he thinks that it's just TOO good, and he'll have to pay for it somehow, because everything can't be going well at the same time, it has to be a setup for something awful to happen.

So many times I noticed his deep depression talking. He stopped going to Al-Anon meetings too. He probably didn’t have time but it’s biting him now. It’s so sad.

it's also a reflection of growing up with his mom with (undiagnosed, speculated) bpd. he probably had lots of experiences with the emotions "switching" from happy to sad so fast, as seen in the christmas dinner ep. which may explain he's always waiting for the other shoe to drop when he is happy.

I work in a kitchen and lately I've been watching the last 4 episodes of this season to help focus after hard days. At least ep 7 and 8. I even had a ritchie style apology with a coworker. Its weird when a show can touch your life

You know what’s hilarious? The guy who plays Fak is an actual professional chef from Canada. He’s playing a guy who’s a mechanic for a kitchen and seems like he would be the worst chef in the show 😂😂😂 my hope is that in a later season they let him start cooking and it’s the biggest underdog story

I watch a lot of television, and after watching, and re-watching, and re-watching again, I can say that in my mind, that chocolate banana scene was the most satisfying moment in the history of television. I don’t think there’s ever been a scene with a better setup, or more perfectly acted. I’s like, you just totally don’t expect it, and then, all of a sudden here is Richie, doing the most professional, most sentimental thing that he could possibly do for anyone, and it was executed flawlessly. Bravo!

I thought the show should have ended in season 1 as it was a perfect end for the story Like it couldn't become any better as what is left to tell But season 2 proved me wrong Ritchie's character arc was the highlight of this season for me And I dont know if they will get Claire's character back as it could one of those arcs where the love has been sacrificed for the work But I could be wrong Cant wait for s3 to surprise me

It's hard for me to say what the best episode of the bear is so far. Season 1 had episode 7 and 8. Season 2 has episodes 4, 6, 7, 9 and 10. Any of those episodes are contender for best of the show so far. And I agree also, the bear is my pick as the best show on television. For me it was The Sopranos, and then when that ended it was Mad Men and then when that concluded It was Better Call Saul. And now the bear has taken the mantle for me personally from that show

Pete crying after his interaction with mom had me in my feels so bad. Such an emotional scene. Such amazing amazing amazing acting! Fak is so dope in a suit. Reminds me of a chubby Post Malone ☺️ A lot of people are rooting for Carm to get with Sydney but I really LOVE what he had with Claire. I hope they don’t screw up the show & ship them just for fan service. I really enjoyed rewatching the show with you. Your reactions are always hilarious! & on point!😅

I think this season also shined a light on why everyone was so rough on Pete last season. Pete is just such a nice and caring guy. Because, of all these people's family trauma they don't how to properly process that. They feel uncomfortable around geniue niceness and default to defensiveness. It's sad really. But, it also shows why Sugar is with him and why their relationship really works. She really needed a guy like Pete and God bless him for trying his best with this crazy family. He is a saint.

Pete-Donna scene got me as well. Brilliant acting. And I enjoyed Claire as well. I do not read romantic energy with Syd and Carm though. I think they played on those expectations especially with under the table scene, but subverted it and it was about them as a working team and their love for food and creativity. I just don’t see them going there. And I think Claire has to return even if they don’t get them back together. That scene was not closure in my mind. Of course that could be wishful thinking and the chapter is closed with her, she is so heartbroken 💔

I read that the character of Natalie had more scenes in season 1 as there were a lot of family scenes they decided to cut. They made several other changes in season 1. Carmen had a rage meltdown in like episode 1 or 2 and Sydney shows up in episode 3. 😬 So, they made a lot of positive changes in season 1 before it came out.

The Bear is up as a comedy, so it doesn’t conflict with Succession. It does conflict with Ted Lasso and Barry, though - and while TL has been a huge favorite of mine, this show has completely won my heart. But! Let’s keep in mind this year’s ceremony involves season one, not two. The timing is so weird. So no JLC nomination yet (she def deserves one).

Loved her. And they were both crushing on each other over the years. Carmy fighting against it is unnatural and we see the results. I think what she was going for was someone who was so into someone else and waited so long to show it. I can see the other side where people see it as creepy, but for me her portrayal is cute

@@Lubbylove89 she brought the calm to Carmy, he was starting to be a better person and more trying to be happy, but Sydney and his uncle was putting the pressure on him, that he needed to focus, and that Sydney needed the attention from him at all times, which is unhealthy, she didn’t like that Claire helped him decide to go with her plates, which is crazy, she wanted to make all the decisions herself, even though she wasn’t footing the bill
