I'm developing a Dredge VR mod

This is my first VR mod and I think it's looking pretty good! Dredge might not seem like a good fit for VR because of the potential for motion sickness but I'm actually adjusting to it pretty well, having made a few tweaks to make the seas less rough. I plan to make this mod free and open source when it's done, but in the meantime if you want to support development on my Patreon you can have access to the current dev build.

Played Dredge for the first time with this mod and had a blast, caught everything, finished every quest, I LOVED IT.

@xen-42 haven't tried pale reach yet, but I've had zero problems aside from one glitch where occasionally the spyglass won't display the fish. Other than that, it was an amazing experience! :)

It’s a shame that adding the waves back but making them visual only would probably look bad. I’d love to see the waves washing over my boat, while still having the boat travel on a perfectly flat plane instead of lurching around and making me puke.

Going forward I'll definitely reevaluate what options there could be for that, at least having an optional setting to keep waves on. Maybe it won't be so bad if the camera is kept completely stable even if the boat itself moves

Love it! Amazing work! As for the waves. Maybe positioning the camera slightly further above and having just the boat bob with the waves and not the camera itself? If that's even possible i mean :)

I've settled on three options for now, 1) go with the waves and be sick, 2) what you've described essentially with the camera floating over the boat, and then of course 3) no waves at all. So hopefully with that it'll be good! I agree with you that it's nice middleground to still be able to see the waves and the boat moving just without moving the camera itself
