I think the only thing they should have done is take TDU2: enhance graphics, make handling and car sounds the same way they did here AND GET RID OF THE ONLINE ONLY. They should have used TDU2 as a basis but instead they decide to skip it and build something "completely new".

This game fundamentally fails at what it’s trying to achieve: an always online racing MMO type experience. You can’t do that when the servers only have EIGHT PLAYERS AT A TIME. JUST EIGHT, IN THAT WHOLE MAP. It’s server infrastructure is broken from the core, not only because it has failed pretty frequently, but also because it only allows for 8 players per session. Also, there are only 2 JDM cars in the entire game. Yes, just 2, the GTR and the 370Z. 2 Asian cars in a Hong Kong map. What a joke.

Test Drive was one of my favorite titles growing up, I was beyond excited when development was announced for this sequel but I’m not surprised it was horribly executed. Every racing game is trying to be Forza Horizon and every shooter game is trying to be Fortnite. There is not originality anymore, its just corporate copy and paste. Tech has advanced so much in the last 20 years but somehow games from 2010 are beyond much more amazingly made. Why? Saving lots of money not buying any of these new releases 🤷🏻‍♂️

Let’s hope spending 2 billion dollars to create GTA 6 will be worth it and they make a profit unlike these guys. This game genuinely looked amazing when I played it in the free demo and honestly they should’ve taken peoples advice of things to improve, isn’t that pretty much the point of having a free demo? Oh well, look on the bright side, the game might’ve been a fail but FH6 is coming out, GTA 6, Night Runners and Wreckreation etc. so overall it’s not that bad. As long as Theo continues uploading videos about cool racing games and checking out new updates in FH5, TCM, AC, GTA5 etc that’s what matters as we’ll be entertained. All we can do is just wait and see what happens. Who knows maybe this game will have some insane updates that’ll fix a LOT of the issues it has and things it lacks like the online aspect.

I think most are frustrated because the game has something everyone wants, it just doesn't work properly and thats the reason we are all complaining. Its the Online focus. It should be an OFFLINE FOCUSED GAME. We didn't want seasons, or competition, or stupid always online, we wanted to feel like rich bastards with loads of money and cars, we wanted houses, we wanted licenses, we wanted a bloody campaign!!! Yet all we get, time after time, game after game nowadays is just uninspired, trashy, dreamless garbage with no purpose and no real game. It feels like we've just been stuck in this cycle of companies fiending for our money and not giving us anything to want other than the absolute bare minimum. It FEELS like this game was designed by a bunch of 17 year olds in an entry level coding class for a grade, not for passion or love. Truly dissapointing, and unfortunately, expected. The gaming climate needs a rock through the window and a helping hand because we're suffocating in boring rubbish. There has been THREE GOOD GAME releases this year, Helldivers II, Warhammer 40K and.. I can't even come up with a third off the top of my head but you probably know if you bothered reading this far.. SOS, Gaming is Dying!!!!

If anything, the issues with new games these days, from servers to graphics, are making people go back and play older games like TDU 1 and 2 and reflecting on what TDU SC should have been like. It’s kind of ironic that many newer games that are created with the latest gaming technologies, are plagued with more issues than older games that were developed on older tech. In my opinion, advancement in gaming tech, is beneficial such as adding new content in updates, but at the same time, it can hurt game quality if developers set ambitions that are too high and cannot meet expectations.

So im at just over 60h of game time and I have to say I did enjoy it so far. It 100% needs more variety of events from old TDUs. Houses, most of us just want it, I dont need better version of sth that was working as expected (no idea what they meant by expanding on this during road map talk). Map, absolutely not as good as Oahu, but they did very good job with it and as additional map its great, but I still want proper size map for long cruises. Online only, well if atleast it was working properly, but sadly it creates a lot of problems all over the place and the idea of losing access to game permanently at some point sucks as well. Car list, is pretty disappoiting for me atm, there is not that many of my favorite cars from old TDU's and in general and those newst shiniest are not as appealing anymore for me - give my favorite screamers like Lp640, Zonda, LFA and honestly list of cars I rly want to see is pretty damn long, I understand licensing costs and since its one time buy game, I hope they will make paid car packs in the future, but only to unlock cars for purchase not give them for FREE!, ofc after they fix what needs to be fixed 1st. We have some stuff confirmed to look forward to, but whats beyond this one year road map is a mystery and thats probably sth that im worried the most about.

It's a racing game, I'm level 42 and enjoying it. The only thing I don't like is having to repeat races for xp to get to the next level milestone to unlock new races. A better system would be something like - Say when you get to level 20 you unlock 10 races - if you first place all 10 races you will have enough xp to get to level 25. But if you get 2nd and 3rd places you'd have to get 2nd and 3rd multiple times to reach level 25. Also, am I the only one who doesn't car about the houses/lifestlye thing? Why would people care about having a virtual house to spawn into? How will that suddenly make you enjoy the game?

I don’t think people realize this, but the reason why the racing is more focused on is because the game is called: Test Drive Unlimited SOLAR CROWN. The Solar Crown was the name of the racing competition back in TDU 2, so they took that idea and made it into a game (which I don’t think was executed well with Solar Crown). That doesn’t mean that there won’t be any lifestyle elements, of course.

All they had to do was copy whatever made the first two TDU games unique and stand out from the competition, and modernize it. It wasn’t even a hard thing to do. They could have make an actual copy of TDU 2 and it would have been more successful than that. They focused too much on the wrong thing like futuristic stuff, you are immediately being the superstar that everybody wants in their club. Every racing game is trying to be Forza Horizon like “haha you just landed here but you are the superstar, here’s the keys to a penthouse and 10 cars.” . TDU didn’t even have to copy Forza Horizon, it had it’s own life, own atmosphere, with the right successor game it could have been an actual rival to Forza Horizon. But now I don’t even think it’s possible to save the game even if they add Ibiza or real estate or whatever. I would rather to play the TDU 2 with the World mod which adds new cars, new handling, online mod etc

I was so hyped when I saw the first trailer. Such a massive disapointment, I’m glad to say that I didn’t spend a single cent on this fraudulent TDU.

@@bleedingfly Me too man, it was for a 1/3 of the price of this unfinished mess. I tell you, even for 20 dollars, TDU SC is still overpriced.

man.. I was so hyped for this game, I got flash backs of my cousin and I playing TDU2 when he would stay over. this feels like they resurrected my best friend and shot him in the face infront of me

People are acting like it has no potential still like it's not getting updated or anything the crew motorfest took a whole year to get their stuff together don't write solar crown off so soon it deserves a chance because we do get a different aspect into a racing game other then the same old rewashed mechanics I think it still has a bit to get right but it definitely has got a lot right already as well

Theo They've stated many times that there will be adding all the other features in the future. I don't understand why you don't like the racing element of this game when your whole channel is around racing.I don't understand your logic people are obsessed with housing for what I have seen in the other games of test drive, it's literally just a place where you can have a garage and your cars, you can't sit down. You can't go swimming in your pool, just your garage and you can put a few pictures up and that's it.People are making too much of a fuss

Welcome to test build unlimited solar disappointment. Tdu 2 had a way better story and feel to the game. This game looks good and sounds are amazing except for the Bugatti veyron as the start up is wrong. This game feels empty in story and things to do but the biggest problem is the car list as all showrooms have duplicate cars. I feel like I was ripped off as we waited 6 years and had delays to get this it's a shame as I love tdu 1 and 2. I do see a repeat in the dlc's coming being the bikes and casino as they was the same dlc's for tdu 2 but I am confused as where is the Ferrari California it is on one loading screen when entering the Ferrari dealership and is also a picture inside the dealership. I think it might be the podium vehicle for the casino dlc

Honestly, they could've just upgraded the graphics of TDU 2, new map, new cars and people would've loved it
