About time someone was honest and didn't sugar coat that failing and struggling is part of life. People love to act as if they have it all together but it is OK not to be OK sometimes. You have to be honest with yourself before you can progress. Thanks for the transparency. Now let me get back to the last edits of writing my first novel and losing these 20lbs lol. I needed this.

What you said about loyalty was so on point. Why keep people in your circle if they drain you, put you second, tear you down, can't level with your greatness? I recently cut out some toxic people from my life and i am so much happier. Love how real you are in this vid.

HEY ahh I am loving my supportive community of luvas more than ever today, will try to respond to every comment. ALSO I put up a poll (click the "i" in the corner to take it) where you can answer the following: where do you feel you are in life? What role does loyalty play in your life currently? What is your next step?
@lisamarie40488 жыл бұрын
+Shan BOODY I just took the mini survey and was surprised to find that "loyalty" has held me back... I guess i was investing time and effort into so called friends and family who were really just using me and wasting my time.It's interesting, the idea of loyalty. we all really do need to be a bit "selfish" sometimes
@itsmeLori8 жыл бұрын
I don't think loyalty is the problem, I think it's unreciprocated loyalty. People get defensive, and she should have realized that to earn YOUR loyalty, she had to show some loyalty herself. And that includes either helping you, or recognizing that she wasn't the best person to be in your corner. Recognizing one's own limits and wanting the best for the person they are working with, means being real with themselves and knowing when it's time let go. When they don't do that, it's probably because they entered the whole relationship for selfish reasons to begin with--whether for money or for gratitude, it was never really about what was best for you. Not to say it wasn't subconscious or unintentional, but your interests were not her priority. I know you're past that point now but I hope you don't feel even a little bit bad about how it ended with your friend. Good luck Shannon, you're great and you deserve every success!

you are so inspiring. I love it. I skipped around and watched your videos out of order, but you really are an inspiration and i love your channel. You have opened up a board of conversation between me and friends and me and my husband. I'm somewhat of a prude i guess and never would talk about some of the things i should with my other half, and since i have subscribed to your channel, your video's are now a conversation starter. Now i can come to him and say "Shannon was talking about this today, and how this is fun or how most get this wrong or don't do this, what do you think?" and then we actually have an adult conversation about it, with out making fun of it, or without it being awkward. Which was never really a possibility before. And listening to this and a ton of your other videos, you should be very proud of how many you encourage daily. Not all subjects i understand or feel comfortable talking about but now i listen to them on you page and can appreciate the knowledge and art. You inspired me to look deeper into love and love making, you inspired me to be myself and confident with myself. Not that i was a wall flower or anything, just now i have more confidence in myself at the stage i'm at now. Instead of dwelling on what i don't have or what i do have (weight gain mostly) but listening to your videos about sexuality and being proud of what i have to offer with my body to my spouse, it really boost my confidence. I appreciate it. Sorry, i wasn't expecting this to be a long post. lol Your fan from MD. :-)

Shannon you've done it again! You inspire me soo much!! I've been watching your videos since Those Girls are Wild, and when I first started my KZbin channel, I reached out to you and you watched one of my first tutorials and left positive feedback 😊 I admire your drive and ambition to set a goal for yourself and work hard at it- even if you think you can't progress past a certain level of success, it takes so much to even get to that point, and I know you're going to reach even more great success in life veryy soon! I can see it 😉 you really inspire me to work hard, grind, and hustle so I can make it out to California & answer my own calling so if nothing else- I really hope you know that your journey has made a great story to inspire your fans & love you even more! And I just want to say that I love how open and honest you are in these videos, you're a great story teller!! So keep grinding girl, you've come so far! ❤️

Shannon, this really hits home. I've been 'in a rut" for awhile and only realized it about 2 and a half years ago. I have had my ups and downs and currently my downs are winning, but this video is inspiring and I hope I can let this video push me to be the best me everyday. It's nice to know that I'm not alone and it's a wonderful reminder of who is important in my life and who is holding me back (other than myself). Thank you Shannon for being you and I wish the best for you and your adventures.

I found this video very interesting. My 17 year old son is a musician, his dream is to live in LA and make it in the industry. I sat him down and showed him this video, he has a much better idea of the real world and what to expect. I have always encouraged him to chase his dream, but a dream is nothing more than a dream if we don't plan and take action. Thank you for sharing your experience. We live in Melbourne Australia.

I'm so happy that you created this video..like seriously I am going through the same exact thing! I have been having a hard time really growing as a lover, model, and overall human being cause I am always stopping or holding on too long to the wrong things in life and I KNOW it's no longer serving me for my greater good. I can't explain how much courage you just help me to keep moving. Thank you! 🌹

**NEW SUBBIE ALERT** I just want to say thank you. Thank you for making this video because I needed this. I've been plateauing for the last 12 -15 years of my life because of the fear of failing and I'm over it. I want more for myself... my family and you just gave me that extra push. God bless you!

+THEGAM3RK1NG Agreed! The natural look is stunning on you Shannon, you don't need all those material things. Haha, you could even save money ;) I've actually noticed that I get more attention from guys when I don't wear makeup, and my hair is just doing it's own thing. A bit frustrating, compared to when I actually go out of my way to make myself look hot. On the other hand it's a good thing, the industry is so wrong.

I needed to hear this today. I've been slacking for the past few years on photography, but this year I said I would get back to my passion. Ever since I spoke that I would get back into it, I've been getting offer after offer for work. It's not enough to sustain me financially, so I do that in conjunction with my full time job. I can't work two jobs that I hate, so I decided to let my second job be my passion. Thanks again, Shannon! I'm learning to stop talking myself out of the things I deserve.

Thank you, Shan, for making this video. I'm in an almost EXACT same situation. I just left a really prestigious program for musical theatre (what I *thought was the dream, this was MY kind of contract that was binding me) and I had to fight through everyone's opinions of what was best for me + possibly the darkest phase my depression has ever been, and only today have I decided that if I'm going to leave the thing that's not helping me grow, I have to DO the thing I've always wanted to do. This video and a combination of others I've watched tonight really has me pumped to just go out there and pursue my desires wholeheartedly. But I just need you to know that someone like me is SO THANKFUL for someone like you and the fact that you listened to that itch that told you to make this video. I cannot thank you enough for helping me see I am not alone. xo

I'm going to be a midwife. I've been studying a different degree that I fell back on because I was too scared to study something that would be difficult. I'm really terrified to change degrees. I feel like I'm running out of time. But you're right I've got to do it. I want to care for other people I want to be there for the mothers and fathers and for the new babies. I want to start up my own program that accommodates and celebrates blended families and families that don't conform to the typical mum, dad, baby. Couples using surrogacy or donors I want to support them and have their experience not be shrouded in their difference but to celebrate the awesome thing they're doing. I'd also like to maybe one day work within teen pregnancy and sex education and to be an advocate for women having the rights to their bodies. Fuck yeah. I'm excited.

Shannon let me say....girrrrlllll you spoke to me!!!! The raw emotion and authenticity! KZbin had this video in my suggestions for at least a week and I kept sliding past, maybe it was the title or my mood but for whatever reason today was the day. I only saw you in Amber's videos at first, then I started paying attention...the truth about my love life is where I really said yesss! You see this video, everything you said is the truth! I feel you here. Sorry for the long comment but you just gained a subscriber and I will be on this path too, to push past the plateau. You will get everything you are working on... I can already tell. Reach for those stars sister.

Hey Shannon, started watching your videos from Ask The Feels with the Just Kidding Films crew! I loved the fact that you brought the educated aspect along with the entertaining aspect they have. Have you talked to them about collaborating with them more? Maybe not just ask the feels (which is in hiatus for now) but JKNews or anything else? Also, could the hiatus on Ask The Feels have anything to do with waiting for you to be able to be a guest on the show?
