You truly are a big inspiration for a kid like me. Sure the big TV guys are cool with their christmas ornament builds but seeing someone do cool stuff thinking "hey, i could do that!" is priceless. Im still stuck on my to-be daily driver Volvo, needs some metal, about all the brakes and an engine without rust n crust in the cylinders. Also a cylinder head, those can be useful. Them one day, after a couple years of watching VGG, PBG, & JYD, I gave in to KZbin's suggestion of your channel. Glad I did. You deliver the auto infotainment as good as any. The fact I no longer think of Dodge merely as Al Bundy's car of choice means you have moved me out of that space. That's actually fairly significant. Thanks again. Happy New Year. And remember... Ahh what a treat as well as a trip down memory lane. When you showed the old track crawler I started thinking about when the ole 48 power wagon manhandled it into its position. Saw many familiar faces and a few new ones too (or I forgot them) that burgundy/maroon van is pretty coo,l as is the red 3 pedal Cherokee. I didn't realize just how many projects you had there... mowing grass has to be the pits . 🤣 . Thanks for the tour...and as ever...take care!

my dad had an 1978 version of your 1981 challenger with the 2.6 auto combo and in the iconic silver charcoal two tone with the rainbow stripe paint. growing up we loved that car and my dad being a mechanic rebuilt the 2.6 and deleted the balance shaft not sure what else but i think it once beat a smog 350 caprice in a short run, not anything to brag on but to an 8 year old was exciting. rust eventually took its toll on that car. love seeing the 81 on your channel and maybe some day ill find one to buy or maybe one like my dads other car he had a 1968 dart gts. love your channel keep up the good work!

Jamie, I do WANT to see content on the Cherokee. They are the last stand for AMC, in a way - and I have a massive soft spot for them, As someone who's not an American, it's a car that somehow is the quintessential image of America in the 80s/90s, as they were sold here en mass, unlike other popular cars, like the Taurus.

Gen X guy here who is burnt the hell out on 60’s and 70’s Mopars. Frankly Jamie is not doing anything with those muscle cars that hasn’t been done many times. Thus, the “weird” stuff is more watchable. Now what the Boomers want to see will differ. 😀Great channel Jamie@@vintage76vipergreenBeetleGen C

MPFI for the turbo slant? Maybe you could adapt a Magnum 3.9 setup for it. Of course, that would make tuning it a severe PITA.

Honestly, I came to DDG for the early trucks. My first vehicle that i bonded with as a young man was an 87 D150. The cars I have always considered out of my reach. I worked at a shop run by a crotchety old Dutchman when I was 16-18 and there was a blue mitsubishi dodge that someone abandoned. I was always enamored with it. So thats why i like seeing yours. At the time we were still working on a lot of K-cars, and they were getting long in the tooth, so they dont do much for me. They were yesterdays shitboxes in my formative years and have remained as such. I love a honda civic, any 5 speed four banger really, but make it RWD and youve got my attention.

After all this time, I find myself most interested in the ones you say garner the least amount of views. Contrary to what you might think, I actually wear that badge with honor. That Mitsu, for example - I realize that's a different generations' fascination, but if they had lived in the time those roamed the streets (and infested our repair bays - a LOT), perhaps their opinion may be a tad different. Bottom line - Mitsu was owned by Chrysler in those days and became an afterthought once the k-car stuff took off, regardless of efforts to make them relevant via "Eagle" this or "Dodge" that.... They had a few strong points, but as cars, well... My vote doesn't matter, but I'd like to see more on the Jeep and perhaps the manual conversion of the ramp truck. Regardless, congrats on the continued success and looking forward to more in 2025! - Ed on the Ridge

That’s fine. But I think the older generations that WERE there should take a moment to view them in the fresh light of today. What’s better, this rear wheel drive Mitsubishi, or those Honda Civics from the 90s the kids love? This thing is cheap and easy to work on, and it’s really fun to whip around. It’s a simple, boxy design, slightly more stylish than a K car. Ramp truck stick swap is definitely coming up. And depending on my mood, there may well be a Jeep video - whether anyone watches it or not. Haha. Thanks!

@@DeadDodgeGarage Ok...I'm trying to think of *any* car from that era that was worth a damn, back in those "downfall of western civilization" days. Nope, can't come up with a thing... All the manufacturers were in those dark days of learning how to fully commit to all ECU's as well as weight loss programs - and the STYLING? Oy. At least they all eventually got around to using more corrosion-resistant body panels...eventually. CVCC Hondas? *shudder* Escorts? *woof* Naw, pickups were about it, least to me - and in those days, I wasn't much into those, so we instead dug further into much older stuff, to the benefit of the hobby today. See you on the next one! - Ed

If you want "the Man" to look at your 8-track player in your Charger; I highly recommend Barry's 8-track Repair in Arizona. The dude is a former Aerospace Engineer and plays with 8-tracks on the side. But the reason I recommend him especially is because he has probably the greatest upgrades of all-time for the Mopar 8-track deck: Head replacement and pre-amp board enhancement. I've had some experience with the AM/8-track and 60 years later.... you learn how it was built on a budget. Does yours always sound muffled with poor sound quality (say in comparison to a Pioneer or other aftermarket player?) Barry will upgrade the playback head and the pre-amp board so that playback can exceed 9,000hz! 8-tracks are capable of decent sound reproduction; but some playback units are dreadful in their frequency response. Barry is not cheap and he's a bit eccentric but from experience; he does top notch work. He's done four decks for me that I was about to write-off as parts units but he worked his magic and saved them all.

I have an extremely rotted 1982 Chrysler LeBaron with the 2.6L you're working on in the MitsuDodge. It actually runs perfectly, and for the short time I drove it had plenty of power. The transmission blew though and its too rotten for me to want to fix. I'm gonna part the engine out if you need stuff for it. I don't wanna just throw away a perfect running engine.

I am looking for a cylinder head, but I assume that one would have jet valves like mine does. Will probably just end up getting a non-jet head.

@@DeadDodgeGarage If you don't find one let me know I'll pull it off for you. I compression tested it, and verified the jet valves in mine actually worked. Weird system, makes weird sounds if you leave the jet valve breather tube open! Real weird. I was excited to drive the stupid thing. I put a webber 32/36 on and it runs amazingly. I was so peeved when the transmissions roller bearings in the diff left the chat
