Yeah I thought maybe he would have learned something but he hasn’t and I know that because still insists the “victim mindset” isn’t a way to be, you gotta have the right mindset, etc. Dude, people can’t always choose how they react to pain, just like you don’t “choose” to jerk your hand away from something you didn’t realize was going to be too hot, it’s a reflex. Guess all the “poor” people just need to change their mindset about their situation 🙄 I mean, obviously you want to try to not be so negative about everything but it’s healthy and normal to have emotions about things and not bottle them up with toxic positivity.

I can’t believe more people aren’t criticizing this “project”. It’s honestly disgusting and tone-deaf of a project. Your goal was to more or less paint a picture of poor people as lazy, thinking that you could do arrogantly get rich after becoming “homeless”. You do not have any understanding of what it actually means to struggle as a homeless person because yours was self-induced. I’m glad your project failed because maybe now you understand how hard it is for millions of people, but unfortunately the rest of us don’t get to return to some cushy millionaire lifestyle. Your “hard work is all you need” mindset is completely ignoring any of the systematic barriers that keep people from escaping poverty, not to mention all of the convenient little miracles that happened during your project. It’s really hard to believe any of it was honest, and not just theater for your KZbin series.

This entire project was flawed from the beginning. From the very start Mike had access to Education, Experience, Business Contacts/Connections, and a Social Media Following that no homeless person has access to. He "magically" found an RV after he was tired of living on the streets (also something the average homeless person doesn't have). In this video he admits he has had medical insurance and has been seeing a doctor this whole time (another thing the average homeless person does not have). Mike also decides to end this early because he can't take it anymore while failing to reach even 10% of his goal. Mike failed miserably and can't even swallow his pride to admit he was wrong. You are a joke Mike, and I hope you never forget that all of your success in life was built upon privileges most of us will never see.

So matter what ur mindset was, you couldn’t shed the medical problems. Just think if you lived this without any safety net, being black, without cameras, where no one will let you borrow an RV. When I had no insurance and was living paycheck to paycheck, I got sick and needed antibiotics ASAP. No doctors would see me without insurance. I ended up going to the walk-in clinic and had to sit in the waiting room for 6 hours. Only for a doctor to look at me for 1 minute and give be a prescription for Amoxicillin. The whole cost for that 1 minute with the doctor? Close to $350. Drained my entire savings. Probably saved money because the emergency room would’ve been at least a couple thousand.

@@JohnnyFD Yeah, but imagine you have more money that you can spend you can always fallback on. Him giving up after 9 months proves it. This was a game, and he got bored. Real people with real lives can't just quit being poor when they feel like it. He can make risky moves because there are no downsides to him. If his risk pays off, great video, if he fails, like he did, he just goes back home with more money magically in his account. His company is self sustainable, he just took a hobby vacation, earning passive income while doing so. And second of all, his methods of making money are "rich people" ways of making money, which is: take something for a 100$ and sell it for a 150$. It seems great, but is actually terrible for the society. We need people that actually invent and produce stuff from nothing. Because we need 90% of the people to actually be productive so humanity can progress.

Is more deep than just thinking about taxes... I live in Venezuela, we have a dual health care sistem, the private sistem and the public sistem. Here, the constitution says that health is an human RIGHT. We do not have the best sistem beacause of lack of equipments, but the public sistem gives at least all of the basic diagnosis and treatment. We literally have the worst economy in the entire world, but we have a funtional public sistem (obviusly, lacking a lot of things, but all od the basic stuff is there), all of that because of how the money is spent. I do not know that much about how taxes work in America but with that much money spent in taxes you could at least have basic free services that would help millions.

You bring up a good point with the healthcare. I notice that you only take $100 per month out for health insurance (as a placeholder since you already jad insurance). Health insurance costs as much as 2k per month for an individual private health care plan. You cannot find a private, non subsadized, non workplace healthcare plan anywhere near $100. Also, any private healthcare plan will have very high deductibles, as much as $14k. So in order for this to be accurate you would have needed to account for the outright cost of all of those doctors apts until they equalled the average deductible amount plus a realostic cost of a monthly healthcare plan. Not to mention copays once the deductible is met. It is also not explaoned who cosigned, how you developed the relationship with the person and got them to agree to cosign for a house for you. There was a lot that was not explained throughout this journey and they are the key parts that are most pertinant to succeeding for someone who does not already have connections. Like a random homeless person or someone living in an rv with a roomate will not have someone willing to cosign on a 5bdr house. A random homeless person will also not have some random guy reach out via the internet to offer to drive 30 mins to pick them up and let them live with them. It just doesn't make sense. It seems much of this was fake and created using your existing connections. Perhaps you could explain the missing details and prove me wrong?

Hello Mike Black. Your project is, and was, disgusting. You mock those who truly suffer by pretending to be poor, in order to get views. You don't know struggle. You don't know the misery of poverty. You ignore everything that prevents the destitute and homeless from getting out of their situations. You'll get no sympathy from me.

First, I am sorry to hear about your father and hope in due time that you can find peace with everything that happened. Unfortunately, you just proved what many of us grew up already knowing. That when people with money give you that "pick yourself up by your bootstraps" motivational speech they themselves truly have no idea how hard it really is. You say in this video that you talked about health being an integral part of the family dynamic that as long as you have that you'll be fine. Well the universe gave you, an opportunity to show us who don't have the greatest health/insurance, a prime moment to show us how to continue on and fight through the struggle to get to better days. But, unfortunately you were given and opportunity of true motivation and you chose to quit instead and rely on your security blanket to pick you up by your boot straps. Good job!

Hey Mike, to me it's refreshing to find someone who worked as hard as possible and came up a little short of an insanely aggressive goal. Feels like real life man. I mean, if someone is struggling and only sees videos of people obtaining their goals, how are they going to feel when they didn't. You're still helping people, and some, even more because you didn't achieve the 0 to 1 mil goal. Best of luck. I appreciate you.

Sorry to hear this Mike but you're definitely making the right decision as health is the most important thing for sure! Fasting is a great idea and I've also read keto can help as well. @hangwithsean
@hangwithsean 3 жыл бұрын
@@themikeblack the fast will definitely help! I will say keto can be really hard because everyone has a different tolerance for carbs and so many carbs are hidden in various foods. I've helped more than a few people on their keto journey and often people will slip up and eat out too often where there will be added sugar or starches like flour added to eggs for example. If you follow it at home, start with lower carbs like 20 total not net. Once you're able to get into ketosis your energy levels really do feel amazing. Legit if you do have questions and wanna give it another go feel free to reach out. Happy to offer some tips to make the second try a bit easier.

Just saw your story from Leon's video, what an inspiring effort and idea. I have to say that if you'd be to value your business to sell it it would move you a lot closer to the 1mil mark. That's what they did with the 'undercover billionaire'. As for your autoimmune diseases I'd recommend looking into cold exposure by Wim Hof as it has proven to help and also considering vitamin supplements like good fish oils from a brand Zinzino, these two have made a world of a difference in mine and my family's health.

Want a bigger dose of depressing reality? If this dude didn't have a safety net, and was an actual broke person, he would be dealing with the loss of his father and then find out he is struck with a similar disease - not an early sign in a check up, but a few months down the line, when things looked like they could get better, he would be hit with a terrible disease and madly healthcare costs sending him not back to zero, but in crippling debt.
I built 8 income streams in 6 months. Here's what I learned.
